Gujarat National Law University is organizing an advanced certificate programme in Capital Markets and Securities Laws under the aegis of the GNLU Centre for Business and Public Policy.

ABOUT

COURSE

Capital markets are the financial pulse of the economy. The maturity of an economy is gauged by the robustness of its capital markets. Having robust and well-regulated securities markets facilitates companies to raise capital from the public and at the same time allows the public to be a part of the nation’s corporate growth story. 

This course shall be aimed at providing conceptual clarity and in-depth understanding to the students about capital markets, various regulations and laws applicable to it, market mechanics, taxation of securities, and Alternate Investment Funds, among others.

The course will constitute quintessential components of the transactional side of Securities Laws and market mechanics which is majorly missing from most of the law school curriculums. It will be of immense value to students who are aiming to pursue a career in corporate laws, securities laws, or other allied areas.

The course will be a first-of-its-kind offering in the country. It is aimed at bridging the gap that is created by the existing courses in this domain through its comprehensively designed modules.

SCHEHE

  • Total number of teaching hours (sessions) – 70 hours
  • The course will be conducted in both online and offline modes. The first part of the course shall be online while the later part would be offline so as to facilitate better interaction with the faculties. 
  • The course shall commence its online leg on December 3, 2022, and will have sessions preferably on weekends. A total of 10 sessions shall be conducted online (tentative) with approximately 34 teaching hours. 
  • The offline leg of the course shall be from January 28, 2023, to February 02, 2023. There will be a total of 36 teaching hours in the offline leg followed by an evaluation. 
  • For the offline leg of the course, participants who opt for accommodation will be provided with the same by the university on an additional payment basis.

  • Students enrolled in UG or PG courses in any recognized university, Scholars, Chartered Accounts, Company Secretaries, Cost Accountants, Advocates, Academicians, Professionals or Industry Practitioners.

Internship Scheme

NITI Aayog, Government of India had initiated an Internship Scheme in 2015. Based on the experience in the past years a review was made. Now in supersession of all the previous guidelines in this regard, The NITI Aayog announces the revised Internship Scheme. This Scheme seeks to engage students pursuing Under Graduate/Graduate/Post Graduate Degrees or are Research Scholars enrolled in recognized University/Institution within India or abroad, as “Interns”. These “Interns” shall be given exposure to various Verticals/Divisions/Units within NITI Aayog and would be expected to supplement the process of analysis within NITI Aayog through empirical collection and collation of in-house and other information. For the “Interns” the exposure to the functioning of the Indian Government may be an add-on in furthering their future interests.

Applicants will have to apply ONLINE by filling up the registration form.

Eligibility

  • UG students, having completed/appeared in the term-end exams of second year/4th semester of the bachelor degree course and secured not less than 85% or equivalent marks in 12th class.
  • Graduate students having completed/ appeared in the term-end exams of first-year/2nd semester of their post-graduate program or persuing research/Ph.D. and secured not less than 70% or equivalent marks in Graduation.
  • The students who have appeared in the final exam or just completed Graduation/PG and waiting for admission for higher studies may also be considered for internship provided that they have secured 70% or more cumulative marks in all the years/semesters of their graduation/ post-graduation till the date of application.
  • The period between the month of declaration of result of the final exam and the desired month of the internship should not exceed 6 (Six) months e.g. if the result is declared in the month of June then he/she can apply for the internship beginning till the month of December.

We are looking for a Senior Procurement Legal Analyst to join our Procurement team in Bangalore, reporting to the senior manager of Strategic Sourcing. In this role, you will review and advise on various legal matters related to vendor contracts, support the procurement team with legal clauses to help enable contract negotiations, and work closely with our EMEA and U.S. legal teams. As a part of an agile, experienced group of in-house procurement professionals, you will proactively assess legal risks with vendor contracts and advise on an appropriate fix. What You’ll Do

  • Review, redline, manage and negotiate vendor contracts across all procurement categories
  • Respond promptly to vendor contract requests from IT, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Products, Business Development, Human Resources, and other internal clients, summarizing and communicating legal concepts that business people can implement
  • Collaborate with Infosec team and evaluate the requirement of Infosec compliance and DPA with vendors
  • Be exposed to a variety of areas within global procurement activities, with a primary focus on commercial and administrative law and process to identify and mitigate vendor contract risks
  • Review all legal documents (NDA, MSA, consulting agreements, SOW, Order Forms, etc.) using your understanding of user/business requirements
  • Document legal files and contracts in our contract repository tool
  • Work with corporate legal team to draft, review, and negotiate various agreements
  • Ensure procurement policy compliance
  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience reviewing and negotiating vendor contracts globally
  • Background in drafting and negotiating service agreements, software license agreements, and DPA
  • Expertise in GDPR, India data protection law, and other international data protection and privacy regulations
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure
  • LLB degree or equivalent degree
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are required, and a passion for providing outstanding customer service is desirable
  • In-depth knowledge of primarily North American and Indian local, state, and federal laws is required
  • Proficiency in MS Office skills—MS Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the global supply base and market dynamics a plus
