ABOUT

The Academy Law Review is a Peer-reviewed research law journal which is published by the Academy in association with the Centre for Advanced Legal Studies and Research (CALSAR).

Research articles, which are approved as original, critical, substantive, thorough and in depth, by the panel of referees consisting of the Chairman of the Editorial Board and Editorial Committee, alone are selected for publication.

THEME

Entries for the ACLR should cover/address latest issues pertaining to law and public policies.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Articles – which deal with issues of interest and relevance and must demonstrate a high-level of analysis. Articles of a purely descriptive nature, unless about a development in a country or a region which may necessarily be of a descriptive nature, are not preferred. The word length of such Articles should fall within the range of 8,000-10,000 words.
  • Notes – which cover a recent development or are issue-specific. The word limit of such Notes will be 8,000 words.
  • Comments – which entail a critical analysis of an issue of relevance, including case laws and policy developments. The Word limit of such Comments will be 8,000 words.
  • Book Reviews (only solicited by the Editors). The editors however welcome any suggestions from academicians, scholars or publishers for Book Reviews.
  • All manuscripts submitted which are to be considered for publication in The Academy Law Review [AcLR] must be original works and should not have been published elsewhere.
  • Authors, upon submission, communicate their acceptance of the following conditions:
    • The work, upon publication, becomes the property of AcLR;
    • Permissions for subsequent publication/reprint and/or derivative works must be obtained from the Editors of AcLR.
  • In case of submission of an unsolicited manuscript, the submission itself does not secure a right of publication in AcLR. Subsequently, if the manuscript is found suitable for publication, as per AcLR’s standards of quality scholarship, the author(s) will receive a notification of acceptance from the Editors.
  • Submission of solicited manuscripts, on invitation from the editors of AcLR, guarantees publication of the same. However, in the event that such solicited manuscript does not meet AcLR’s standards of quality scholarship, final discretion to publish the solicited manuscript vests with the Editors of AcLR.
  • The Editors reserve the right to send contributions, whether solicited or unsolicited, to referee(s) for evaluation of content and quality, in which case the identities of both the Author and the Referee shall remain confidential (i.e. Double-Blind Peer Review).
  • All articles to AcLR should have a socio-legal aspect.
  • The Editors reserve the right to request for copies of any resources or authorities cited in the submitted manuscript. The publication of the manuscript remains subject to the Authors providing such copies.
  • The articles to be published is at the discretion of the editorial board.
  • Once the article is selected for publication a formal mail intimating the same shall be sent. Contacting otherwise is not entertained.
  • An “Abstract” containing at most 250 words must precede the body of the manuscript, except in the case of a Book Review. It must also contain the keywords used.
  • The Editors follow the system of citation as prescribed in The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th Edition), and while it is not imperative, prospective authors are requested to follow the same.
  • As a convention, British English shall be followed.
  • To facilitate our anonymous review process, please confine your name, affiliation, biographical information, and acknowledgments to a separate cover page. Please include the manuscript’s title on the first text page.
  • If contributing Authors would like to request an expedited review of their submission then, such authors are supposed to make a separate request to the same effect to the Executive Editor. Please be prepared to provide us with the following information while making the request: (1) the manuscript’s title; (2) the date by which the Author needs an answer; (3) author’s phone number and e-mail address.

ABOUT

CCLP was established as an initiative to promote interdisciplinary research in the field of competition law and policy making. As a part of this initiative, CCLP publishes its flagship journal, the Indian Competition Law Review (“ICLR”).

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Submissions: Submissions must be in a Word format (‘.doc’ or ‘.docx’). All submissions are to be sent via email to cclp@nlujodhpur.ac.in.
  • The subject of the email should be titled – “Submission for Blogs_Name of the Author(s)”.
  • While submitting to the Blog, the author(s) are required to submit an undertaking that:
    • They warrant that the manuscript is their original work, and has not been
      simultaneously been submitted to any other platform for consideration;
    • They consent to the publication of the submitted piece on the Blog provided that they
      are fully acknowledged as the author(s).
  • Authorship: Co-authorship up to two authors is allowed. Refrain from mentioning the name, institutional affiliation, or any other detail of the author(s) in the document to facilitate the double-blind review process.
  • Deadline: There is no deadline for the submission of Blog posts. Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis.
  • Originality: All works must be original and unpublished. The plagiarism limit is 15%.
  • Length: The word limit for the submission is 1000- 1500 words. This word limit is exclusive of the endnotes (if any). Longer posts may be accepted should the topic require an extensive discussion, and, if required, they may be published in parts, subject to the discretion of the editors.
  • Headings: Authors are encouraged to use headings to break up long posts. Headings should not be of more than one level and should be in bold.
  • Font and spacing: The title of the post must be formatted to Times New Roman font size 14, all Caps, and in bold. The main body of the text must be formatted to Times New Roman font size 12 with 1.5 line spacing with a single line space between paragraphs; and the end notes must be formatted to Times New Roman font size 10 with single line spacing.
  • Referencing: All references must be in the form of hyperlinks in the body of the submission. In case no hyperlink is available for any reference, use of endnotes is recommended. The endnotes must be in conformity with the 4th edition of the Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA) style of citation. The author(s) are advised to give specific details, such as the Page or the Paragraph number of the reference, either in the body of the text itself or in the endnotes. No speaking endnotes or footnotes are allowed

The Department of Law is organizing a Two day National Seminar on the “Constituent Assembly Debates” on 25th and 26th of November, 2022 (offline) as a part of National Law day celebration which has been followed every year on November 26  to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.

  • Article: 5,000 – 8,000 words: A complete analysis of a certain subject is expected in the Article. It must examine or analyze the current situation, pointing out the gaps and suggesting viable remedies. The author may adopt a historical, exploratory, comparative, or multi-disciplinary approach to substantiate the argument. The articles with empirical research are encouraged.
  • Essay: 3,000 – 4,000 words: An essay is comparatively succinct than article, and may put forth the idea and the argument of author in a briefer manner.
  • Book Review: 1,000 – 2,500 words: A book review may contain a detailed description, critical analysis of a book’s quality, meaning, and significance.
  • Comment: 1,500 – 2,500 words: Any recent judgement, landmark case, or any current enactment or Bill pending before the Parliament or a State Legislature may be the theme of a Comment.
  • All submissions must be made in electronic form in Word format (.doc/.docx) only.
  • Co-authorship is allowed up to a maximum of two persons.
  • All submissions must be accompanied with a Covering Letter stating the Name, Designation and Affiliation of the author/authors; Contact details of the author including email and phone number; and the Title of the Manuscript.
  • The author/s shall mention their particulars only in the Covering Letter and not in the manuscript of submission.
  • The author/s shall submit a Declaration along with the submission stating that the manuscript is their original work, is in compliance of the research ethics and it is not published/submitted for consideration in any other publication.
  • The author/s shall also submit a Brief-Bio about themselves in about 100 words along with their submission.
  • Plagiarism in any form shall result in rejection of the submission, and the decision of the Board of Editors in this matter shall be final.
  • The Board of editors may make changes that are necessary to meet the requirements of space and format of the Journal.
  • The decision on publication of the manuscript would be intimated to the author tentatively within (30) Thirty days of receipt of the submission.
  • The Title of the manuscript should be Arial font, size 14; the Abstract should be Arial font, size 11 italic style; and the Body of manuscript should be Arial font, size 12 with 1.5 spacing and justified alignment.
  • The Endnotes and References should be in Arial font, size 10 with single spacing.
  • The submission of Article or Essay must contain an Abstract of up to 150 words. There shall be no endnote/citation included in the abstract.
  • The submissions shall adhere to The Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA), Fourth Edition 2012.
  • The author/s may refer to the OSCOLA Quick Reference Guide for guidance. The citations shall be in the form of endnotes only, and followed by References, if required.
  • ·Endnotes should be numbered in sequential order and References, if any, shall be listed in the end of the manuscript in alphabetical order.
  • The Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the endnotes/references. Proper citation of the source of literature used in the manuscript must be indicated in the endnotes/references.
  • The author/s may include acknowledgements, if any, at the end of the article before the beginning of the endnotes.

National University of Advanced Legal Studies is organizing a Law Learning Game Design Competition, to be held in both online and offline modes.

ABOUT

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies is a public law school and a National Law University located in Kochi, India.

The NUALS All India Law Learning Game Design Competition, 2023 is proposed in the context of the adoption of innovative pedagogy in teaching and learning law at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi.

The present competition is announced in light of the successful completion of the First Law Learning Game Design Inter-Semester Competition held in NUALS in the month of September 2022.

NUALS’ experience in the implementation of gamification of the LLB program is reflected in the release of Books on Gamification which in fact speaks for the volume to which gamification is imbibed in University academics.

Generating a pool of games- virtual and physical- for learning law, both substantive and procedural is the task that NUALS has taken up proudly to contribute to the present-day world of education, entertainment and engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

The Competition is open for participation by students pursuing an undergraduate law degrees at any institution /university recognized by the Bar Council of India.

DETAILS

Along with the registration fee, the participant has to upload a recorded video of a time span not exceeding 10 minutes of the Scheme of the game specifying the mode, whether online or offline and a detailed description of the scheme justifying how it serves the purpose of learning law.

The proposed scheme should also keep compliance with the factsheet released. The participants are free to concentrate either on part or whole of the specific facts and laws highlighted in the fact sheet and design games based on the same.

The registered team as a whole or the individual participant as the case may be can only be part of the video uploaded. The video can be uploaded in Google form (maximum file size is 100 MB).
