Job Description

RVNL on behalf of RVNL, a Mini-Ratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways) for fast-track execution of Rail projects is being awarded the project for design and construction of 10 kilometers viaduct and 09 elevated Metro Stations for the Indore Railway Metro Project.

RVNL is thus, looking for dynamic professionals purely on contract basis for upcoming project of MP Metro at Indore initially for 2 years, extendable on annual basis from open market from Indian citizens for the following posts, for which walk-in interview has been fixed as indicated below at 1st Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, R.K. Puram, New Delhi-110066.

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification: Government Recognized Degree/Diploma/PG course in Labour Welfare related fields like Law, Personnel/Industrial Relations etc.
  • Experience: 02 Years (in construction sector)
  • Age Limit: 32 Years

  • The abstract should not exceed 300 words and must include keywords. Abstracts received on or before 30th October 2021 shall be published in the seminar proceedings
  • The length of the full paper shall be between 5000 to 8000 words (excluding footnotes).
  • Full paper should be submitted on or before 22nd November 2021.
  • Selected full papers presented in the Conference shall be published in a book by December 2021.
  • In case of co-authorship (maximum two), each author will have to register separately by paying the registration fee. The certificate will be given only to registered author.

Submission Guidelines

  • Intellectual property (IP) law or issues directly or indirectly related to IP must be the focus of submissions. IP Law post accepts both analytical papers on recent developments and pieces that explore new perspectives on long-standing IP law debates.
  • Submissions must be the author’s original work (s). Plagiarism will be checked on all submissions. A maximum of two authors can collaborate on a paper.
  • Submissions on issues that have been previously covered in the blog will not be accepted, unless they bring forth fresh perspectives, arguments or opinions contrary to previously published content.
  • We accept submissions on a rolling basis. When it comes to deciding whether or not to accept a submission, the Editorial Board has complete discretion.
  • Submissions should be between 800-1500 words in length (exclusive of references). Longer write-ups may be split into multi-part posts, in consultation with the editors (all parts of the write-up will have to be submitted together).
  • Authors should stick to English language and wherever statements have been made in other languages, adequate translation should be provided.
  • References must be in the form of hyperlinks to relevant legal sources and background information, including any judgments, legislations, treaties or other legal texts which are mentioned. Hyperlinks must link only to legal or respected news sources. 
  • Endnotes will be approved if a reference cannot be accepted by hyperlinks, and they must be formatted according to OSCOLA 4th edition guidelines.

About the debate competition

The 1st National Level Debate Competition, organised by the School of Agriculture Law & Economics, RGNUL, Punjab, will be based on the Lincoln-Douglas debate format i.e., one on one debate in order to promote individualism amongst the participants. Through this competition, we aim at providing the students with a platform to hone their debating skills and improve the whole debating experience by ensuring that the participants meet with challenging issues based on contemporary and developing aspects of law and society. The competition strives to provide a safe platform for students to grow and experiment with their communication skills and critical thinking abilities.

The competition shall comprise of 3 stages:

Preliminary Round

4+1 minutes to speak. Timings will be displayed on the screen twice, once after 1 minute and second after another 3 minutes.
Rebuttal: 1 minute to each participant.

Semi finals and final rounds

Lincoln-Douglas Format

1 vs 1 format (Lincoln-Douglas Format)

The Lincoln-Douglas debate is dedicated to questions that are of a deep moral or philosophical nature. The debate format for a Lincoln-Douglas debate is one-on one.

  • Affirmative Constructive – 6 minutes
  • Cross-Examination by negative – 3 minutes
  • Negative Constructive – 6 minutes
  • Cross-Examination by positive – 3 minutes
  • First Affirmative Rebuttal – 4 minutes
  • Negative Rebuttal – 4 minutes

Total Speaking time for each Speaker- 13 minutes

Preparation time: 30 Minutes.

GUIDELINES FOR COMPETITION

  • A New Motion will be Provided 30 minutes before each Oral round.
  • The participants will be informed about their stand, i.e., either “For the Motion”or “Against the Motion”, 30 minutes before starting that particular round, through the WhatsApp group.
  • The medium of debate is strictly English.
  • The participant must maintain professional decorum at all times throughout the competition. The use of abusive or profane language will immediately disqualify the participant.
  • Individual scores of each round will be released after the completion of the respective round.
  • Each participant will be allotted a unique code for further reference and communication. The participant will be required to use that code only. In case any participant is found disclosing his/her identity, he or she will be immediately disqualified from the competition

The decision of the judges invited for evaluation will be final and binding.

About Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation (IIAM)

IIAM is one of the pioneer institutions in India started in 2001, providing institutional ADR services, DPM services, Training programs and Accreditation of ADR professionals. IIAM is one of the founding members of Asia Pacific Centre for Arbitration & Mediation (APCAM) and functions as the APCAM Centres in India. IIAM provides facilities for alternative dispute resolution (ADR), which includes international and domestic commercial arbitration, mediation/ conciliation and negotiation. IIAM ADR Rules help parties to take maximum advantage of its innovative procedures for the resolution of disputes quickly and economically, outside the court.

Course Description

Certificate program in Dispute Resolution Management is an online certificate course provides a comprehensive knowledge of dispute resolution. Alternate Dispute Resolution is the process of settling disputes without litigation. The course will teach the students more about this dispute resolution process and embraces topics like common causes of conflict, how to overcome conflicts and the main components of Alternate Dispute Resolution practices. The course provides guidance to become an effective negotiator and a good mediator. As the course is online, it provides an option to the students to undergo the program at a place convenient to them.

Structure of the Course

Module 1:

  • Basics on Negotiation & Mediation
  • Study of conventional types of negotiation and the alternatives for principles negotiation and its stages and method.

Module 2:

  • Dispute Management ADR Methods
  • Comparative study of mediation and Conciliation and the methods of mediation. Analysis of systems of mediation and arbitration and various rules and laws.

Eligibility

The course is open to students

  • enrolled on a regular basis in 3rd year or above of 3 year and 4th year; or
  • above of 5 year undergraduate LL.B. Degree Course, LL.M; or
  • its equivalent conducted by any recognized institute.

Mode of Delivery

The course will be delivered through an online platform i.e. Google Meet.

  • The registrants will be short-listed on a ‘First Come First Served Besis’ to a total number of 100 participants.

Certification

A certificate of completion shall be provided to all the participants subject to the performance in the assignment at the end of the course.

Ms. Iram Majid
She is director of Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation (IIAM). She is Executive Director of Asia Pacific centre for Arbitration and Mediation. Iram had completed her LLM from KUK University. She has undergone training for Arbitration from Chartered Institute of Arbitration UK and Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation and regarding mediation many reputable institutions, including the Harvard Law School for Advance Mediation Programme on Negotiation in Harvard Law School widely considered the best legal education institution in the world, and Pepperdine University, California.
Experience of 16+ years in handling wide range of criminal, matrimonial, civil, commercial, banking and finance matters cases inside the court as Advocate and outside the court as Mediator.
