Call for Papers

The IP Site invites contributions from all students (including non-law students), academicians, scholars, lawyers and members of and outside the legal fraternity, to develop and enable the understanding of IPR.

The IP Site is looking for contributions on any contemporary topics or themes of IPR that are of relevance and significance today, in its application in India and across the world. Submission Guidelines

Format: Blog entries must strictly be in English and in electronic form. They are further to be submitted in .doc /.docx /.odt formats only.

Word Limit: Submissions shall not exceed 1000 words (excluding endnotes). However, as a matter of editorial discretion, this may be relaxed to 1500 words. 

Presentation

  • Submissions are to be made in Times New Roman font, font size-12, and line spacing-1.5.
  • Citations must be included in the form of hyperlinks to the sources referred to within the text itself. Endnotes must be used only for sources that are not available online and must follow the Bluebook (20th Edition) style of citation. Endnotes must be in font size-10 and line spacing-1. Submissions shall not contain footnotes.

  • Plagiarism (including self-plagiarism) shall entail immediate disqualification.
  • Only the first communication of your submission shall be considered, hence multiple submissions of the same entry, with or without modifications, shall not be acknowledged.

  • Abstract must be of maximum 250 words & 5 Key Words have to be enlisted.

Guidelines for the Final Paper

  • The word range for the paper should approximately vary between 3000 – 5000 words inclusive of footnotes.
  • The working font is Times New Roman. The main content must be of font size 12. The line spacing shall be 1.5. The foot notes shall be single spaced with font size of 10. Argumentative and running foot notes are to be avoided.
  • The page numbers shall be consecutively marked on the right-side bottom of the page.
  • The contributors shall divide the papers into Sections, which also includes Subsections (core and allied components). A minimum of 4 components (not exceeding 6) shall be identified.
  • Quotations shall be sparingly used. Unnecessary Italics and Bolds shall be avoided. Italics may be permitted for Principles/ Doctrines, Maxims, Etymology and Case Laws.
  • Avoid Capitalization as much as possible except in cases of Legal Jargons, Terms and Statutory Reference. For Example: Article, Section, Treaty, Resolution, Draft.
  • Abbreviations shall be used only in cases of frequent use. For Example: if ‘United Nations’ is frequently used, then it shall be abbreviated to UN (In case of popular abbreviations, the contributor is requested to adhere to the known form of abbreviation, Ex: united nations shall not be abbreviated to UniNat).
  • Punctuations should be sparingly used. Single quotation marks must be used.
  • In terms of cross references Supra and Infra can be selectively used.
  • The contributions must strictly relate to verifiable data. Adequate information must be provided for the sources relied. In case of supportive sources due acknowledgment must be furnished.
  • In general, sources from newspapers and Magazines should be avoided. In select cases, based upon the subject requirement, it may be permitted.
  • Plagiarism of maximum of 15-20 percent is allowed.
  • Contributions not adhering to the above said rules shall not be considered for publication.

How to Submit?

A copyright of the articles and other contributions is vested with the department. The last date for submission of articles/research papers is 30th November 2021.

Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts, minimum of 3000 words and maximum of 5000 words in case of research paper/article and minimum of 1200 words and maximum of 2000 words in case of book review and case comments with proper footnoting and acknowledgements, typed on one side of the paper with 12 font size in Times New Roman, double spaced, with one inch margin on all four sides in MS- Word format, will be accepted.
  • Please provide your full name/s, address, designation, email and contact numbers and Volume No. of the Journal for which paper is submitted.
  • As we follow blind peer review process, therefore the author’s name or affiliation should not appear anywhere else in body of manuscript except near the title of the Article.

Human Rights, occupy a pivotal role globally especially after the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.It has gained an important place in international and national policy considerations. Despite the increased focus on Human Rights, the reality of the day is “Too much emphasis – Too many violations”. Though there is stringent enforcement of laws, collective efforts by the governments, the active participation of media and the Human Rights agencies, the Human Rights scenario world over is posed with various challenges because for a larger section of the society, Human Rights are still an abstract concept.

Against this backdrop, the importance of Human Rights Education acquires increased importance; it assumes potential significance in transforming Human Rights issues into reality. This Seminar is an endeavour to spread awareness regarding the multi-faceted concept of Human Rights laws among the youth, academia, industry and even the common masses, as well as to contribute to the global discourse on the way forward for Human Rights laws.

Paper presenters may opt for a topic from the sub-theme itself or may bring any other topic of their choice, based on any related issue pertaining to the topic.

Who can Participate?

Research papers are invited from Academicians, Practitioners, Research Scholars, Graduate and Post Graduate Students on the broad themes provided above.

Important Rules

  • Single Co-authorship is permitted.
  • All papers should follow the latest edition of Bluebook mode of citation. 
  • An abstract should be sent to ic.rvils@rvei.edu.in explaining the purpose of the paper and should not exceed 300 words before the deadline. 
  • The selected abstracts need to be stretched further for completing them as full-fledged research papers to be submitted through email on or before the date mentioned.

E-Certificate will be sent via email to those who participate/present the paper at the conference.

  • Student/Research Scholar: Rs. 500 for a single author and Rs. 900 for co-authorship.
  • Academicians/Practitioners and others: Rs. 800 for a single author and Rs. 1500 for co-authorship.
  • Foreign Nationals: Participation/Presentation: Rs. 1500 for a single author and Rs. 2500 for co-authorship.
