About the institution 

Lloyd Law College is a premier law college situated in Delhi-NCR that has been imparting high quality and practical legal education since 2003. The College has been awarded the ‘SILF-MILAT Institutional Excellence Award – 2018’ by His Excellency, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India. Apart from the regular academic activities, to contribute to research in the field of law, Lloyd Law College has two international journals –Lexigentia– Law Journal of Lloyd Law College and Lloydians– the Student Law Review. 

About the journal 

Lloydians (International Student Review Journal of Lloyd Law College) is a biannual, ISSN, peer-reviewed journal published by Thomson Reuters (ISSN: 2394- 899X).  We invite Articles from the students of law for publication of upcoming edition on following theme.

Kindly note, sub-themes are mere suggestive; you may submit your Article on any other theme provided it falls within scope of theme of this call for paper. 

How to submit / submission guidelines 

  1. Word Limit: 
    • Article: 4000 – 6000 words (including abstract, references, table/chart used in the Article) 
    • Short Article: 3,000– 4,000 words (including abstract, references, table/chart used in the Short Article) 
    • Abstract: 200-300 words  
  2. Author’s Declaration of Originality: All entries must have author’s declaration of ‘original authorship’ in the prescribed format.  
  3. Authorship: 
    • Students pursuing 3-year LL.B course and 5-year B.A. LL.B course from recognized Universities are eligible to send in entries. LL.M students can also submit their entries. 
    • Entries can be co-authored. However, a maximum of two authors per Article is allowed. 
  4. Citation Style: Uniform Style of Citation should be adhered to. The mode of citation to be followed is available at http://www.ili.ac.in/footnoting.pdf 
  5. Format of Main Text & Footnotes: Times New Roman font, in font size 12 is prescribed for all entries. Further, footnotes shall be in font size 10 and in Times New Roman font. A line spacing of 1.5 for the main text and 1.0 for footnotes should be followed. All submissions should be in doc or docx format; submissions in pdf shall not be accepted. 
  6. All entries (abstract + article) are to be submitted via email to lloydians@lloydlawcollege.edu.in latest by 15 December, 2021 (11.59 IST).

Submission Guidelines

The abstract should not exceed 300 words and must be accompanied by a cover page stating:

All submissions of the abstracts for the E-Conference must be electronically submitted.

Formatting Guidelines

  • The main text of the full paper and the abstract should be in Times New
  • Roman with font size 12 and line spacing of 1.5.
  • The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10 with a spacing of 1.0 (Endnotes are not permitted)
  • One inch margins should be maintained on all four sides of the pages.
  • Citation Style: Bluebook, 20th edition.
  • The abstract and full paper has to mandatorily be submitted in .pdf format only.

Note

Co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of two authors and at least one author must attend the E Conference to present the paper. No Proxy presentations are allowed. The School of Law, CHRIST in keeping with its mandate of publishing original works only, adopts a stringent anti-plagiarism policy. Any paper containing any unattributed work is thus liable to be rejected.

Guidelines for the Final Paper

  • The word range for the paper should approximately vary between 3000 – 5000 words inclusive of footnotes.
  • The working font is Times New Roman. The main content must be of font size 12. The line spacing shall be 1.5. The foot notes shall be single spaced with font size of 10. Argumentative and running foot notes are to be avoided.
  • The page numbers shall be consecutively marked on the right-side bottom of the page.
  • The contributors shall divide the papers into Sections, which also includes Subsections (core and allied components). A minimum of 4 components (not exceeding 6) shall be identified.
  • Quotations shall be sparingly used. Unnecessary Italics and Bolds shall be avoided. Italics may be permitted for Principles/ Doctrines, Maxims, Etymology and Case Laws.
  • Avoid Capitalization as much as possible except in cases of Legal Jargons, Terms and Statutory Reference. For Example: Article, Section, Treaty, Resolution, Draft.
  • Abbreviations shall be used only in cases of frequent use. For Example: if ‘United Nations’ is frequently used, then it shall be abbreviated to UN (In case of popular abbreviations, the contributor is requested to adhere to the known form of abbreviation, Ex: united nations shall not be abbreviated to UniNat).
  • Punctuations should be sparingly used. Single quotation marks must be used.
  • In terms of cross references Supra and Infra can be selectively used.
  • The contributions must strictly relate to verifiable data. Adequate information must be provided for the sources relied. In case of supportive sources due acknowledgment must be furnished.
  • In general, sources from newspapers and Magazines should be avoided. In select cases, based upon the subject requirement, it may be permitted.
  • Plagiarism of maximum of 15-20 percent is allowed.
  • Contributions not adhering to the above said rules shall not be considered for publication.

About the Journal

ThePanjab University Law Review is a reputed and well established Journal that has been published since 1951. It is a Refereed and Peer Review-Journal with ISSN Number: 0971- 5541. 

The faculty members/research scholars, who are desirous of contributing a paper, are requested to contribute articles/research papers/book reviews/case comments on any topic of socio-legal importance for these issues.

How to Submit?

A copyright of the articles and other contributions is vested with the department. Send two hard copies of manuscript to the Chairperson, Department of Laws, Panjab University, Sector 14, Chandigarh-160014 and also email of the same at pulr@pu.ac.in. The last date for submission of articles/research papers is 30th November 2021.

Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts, minimum of 3000 words and maximum of 5000 words in case of research paper/article and minimum of 1200 words and maximum of 2000 words in case of book review and case comments with proper footnoting and acknowledgements, typed on one side of the paper with 12 font size in Times New Roman, double spaced, with one inch margin on all four sides in MS- Word format, will be accepted.
  • Please provide your full name/s, address, designation, email and contact numbers and Volume No. of the Journal for which paper is submitted.
  • As we follow blind peer review process, therefore the author’s name or affiliation should not appear anywhere else in body of manuscript except near the title of the Article.
  • Every manuscript should be labelled as: A Research Paper or case comments or book review etc.
  • Authors are required to write an abstract (not exceeding 250 words along with 5 keywords) describing the work and its significance.
  • Tables, if any should be numbered consecutively. Title of the table should appear above the table and sources at the bottom.
  • The Author is required to take note of:
    • Originality of the theme
    • Novelty of the subject
    • Clarity of the idea
    • Presentation of subject systematically
    • Linkage of conclusion with the contents
  • Your article/book review/case comment must be sent alongwith plagiarism report/certificate. Submission with plagiarism content of more than 10% and copyright issues will not be accepted for publication.
  • Foot notes and citations research work are to be given as per the format of Indian Law Institute available at www.ili.ac.in, in single space.
  • Only works which have not been published earlier or which are not being considered for publications elsewhere will be entertained.
  • Manuscripts not accepted for publication will not be sent back to contributors.
  • For publication of research work in the Journal, decision of the Editorial Board shall be final.
  • Manuscript submitted after the due date and without adhering to above instructions will not be considered for publication.

Call for Papers

The organisers invite original, unpublished research papers for a national seminar from students, research scholars, academicians and practicing lawyers. Authors shall declare that the manuscripts submitted for the seminar do not infringe the copyright of any other person. The interested researcher should send an abstract that contain 200 – 250 words accompanied by a brief profile of the author including his email ID, contact number, his research background (if any) and his institutional affiliation to sclcconference@gmail.com. Selected quality papers will be published either in the form of seminar proceedings or book with ISBN number.
