About the Seminar

Human Rights, occupy a pivotal role globally especially after the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.It has gained an important place in international and national policy considerations. Despite the increased focus on Human Rights, the reality of the day is “Too much emphasis – Too many violations”. Though there is stringent enforcement of laws, collective efforts by the governments, the active participation of media and the Human Rights agencies, the Human Rights scenario world over is posed with various challenges because for a larger section of the society, Human Rights are still an abstract concept.

Against this backdrop, the importance of Human Rights Education acquires increased importance; it assumes potential significance in transforming Human Rights issues into reality. This Seminar is an endeavour to spread awareness regarding the multi-faceted concept of Human Rights laws among the youth, academia, industry and even the common masses, as well as to contribute to the global discourse on the way forward for Human Rights laws.

The organisers invite papers related to the theme of the seminar. The paper should be in English, MS word, Times New Roman font, font size 12, Line spacing 1.5.  Abstract: Not more than 250 words. Paper: Not more than 2500 words.

The Centre for Corporate Governance is a research hub under the rubrics of National Law University, Jodhpur, dedicated to research and development of governance standards for the corporate world. The broad theme of the Journal for Volume V Issue 1 is “Addressing Emerging Trends: Navigating the Murky Waters of Corporate Law and Governance.”

Submission Guidelines

Please note that the submissions must conform to the following requirements:

  • The author(s) may contribute to the Journal in the form of Articles, Notes, Comments and Case Analysis.
  • The acceptable length of Articles is >4500 words, and of Notes, Comments & Case Analysis is between 3000-4500 words, including footnotes.
  • All submissions must include an abstract of not more than 300 words, explaining the main idea, objective of the article and the conclusions drawn from it.
  • Each submission may have maximum of two authors.
  • The manuscript should be on A4 sized paper, in Garamond, font size 12, 1.15 line Spacing, justified and 1-inch margins on each side. Footnotes should be in Garamond, font size 10 and with single line spacing.
  • The Authors must conform to the Bluebook (20 th edition) Uniform System of Citation. Please refer to our guide to Bluebook (20th edition) here.
  • The Manuscript should not contain any identification of the author/s, which shall be a ground for rejection of the submission. Authors should provide their contact details, designation, institutional affiliation and address in the covering letter for the submission.
  • The submission must be the original work of the authors. Any form of plagiarism will lead to direct rejection.
  • The relevant sources should be duly acknowledged as footnotes. The decision of the Editorial Board in this regard shall be final.

Submission Guidelines

  • The language of the paper should be English only.
  • The Abstract must contain the highlights of the full paper and should not exceed 250 words.
  • Five Keywords are required to be mentioned.
    Author(s) Name(s), University/Organization, Paper Title, Email Address and Mobile Number to be stated clearly in the cover page of the Paper.
  • Paper should not have been published earlier nor should it be under consideration for publication. Any form of plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Author(s) will be required to fill the Registration Form and Declaration after the selection of their abstract.
  • All research paper will be Peer Reviewed by the Editorial Board and subjected to Anti-Plagiarism Software. Authors will be given one-week time to edit their papers as per the Anti-Plagiarism Software Report.
  • Decisions made by the Editorial Board will be final in all existence and no doubts shall be taken in this regard.
  •  Maximum Plagiarism of 15% is allowed.

Word Limit

NOTE

Co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of two authors and at least one author must attend the E Conference to present the paper. No Proxy presentations are allowed. The School of Law, CHRIST in keeping with its mandate of publishing original works only, adopts a stringent anti-plagiarism policy.

Any paper containing any unattributed work is thus liable to be rejected.

About Niti Manthan

Niti Manthan is an initiative to motivate and inspire young students on various socio-legal themes and to guide them traverse the righteous path throughout the endeavour of their personal and professional lives. By having a direct interaction and by the exchange of views with experienced legal minds and researching, conceptualising and correspondingly reporting according to the selected avenue given below. It has been recognised by The International Criminal Court Hague, United Nations Harmony with Nature Programme, Received a grant for volunteer work by the IBJ, and has Collaborated with various Public Institutions and Universities pan India.

The think tank, Niti Manthan currently functions in the areas of Research, Legal blogs, Internships, E-classes, Young Leaders for Legal Literacy Program, Research Centers on Medical and Health Law, Environmental Law & Psycho-Legal Studies, Workshops, Certificate Courses and Lecture Series.

About the Journal

Global Journal of Socio-Legal Research (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Journal’) provides a discussion on new ideas, fresh insights, and expert views on critical practical issues faced across various jurisdictions. The content is contributed by experts in the field, practitioners and international students, and aims to provide a reliable source of guidance and discussion for the globalised world.

The Journal is a peer-reviewed half-yearly international journal with a diverse editorial board. As mentioned above, the aim of the journal is to address contemporary socio-legal issues and will act as a source of information for the further development of jurisprudence. The Journal is being published under the aegis and guidance of Niti Manthan.

It is to be noted that the above-mentioned themes are for the guidance purpose only and are
merely suggestive in nature. The authors are free to choose the ambit and scope of the paper in
the background of the main theme. The editorial team would be happy to entertain submissions
related to any topic according to the themes of the Journal.

Categories

  • Research Articles: 5,000 – 10,000 words.
  • Essays: 3,000 – 5,000 words.
  • Case Commentaries: 1,500 – 4,000 words.
  • Book Reviews and Legislative Comments: 2,000 – 4,000 words. [For Book Reviews, please ensure that the Book should have been published within the period of 2019-2021, and it must be relevant as on 1st November, 2021]

Please note that the word limit is not hardcoded. If deemed fit, minor deviations may be allowed
by the editorial team.

Who can submit?

Faculty members, research scholars, working professionals and students in any field of study are
eligible to submit their papers. Nationality is no bar for submission.

Submission Guidelines

  • Essays and long articles must include an abstract of not more than 350 words.
  • Title: Title of your manuscripts should be concise, with a maximum of 70 characters.
  • Keywords: The author can give up to 10 keywords for the ease of reference to the reader.
  • This will further boost the search engine optimisation (SEO) of your article.
  • Biography: A brief biographical note, including both the current affiliation as well as the email address of the author(s), should be provided in the first footnote of the manuscript.
  • Submissions should be original and unpublished work of the author(s). Additionally, the submission should not be under consideration anywhere else.
  • Language: Only articles in English will be considered for publication. Manuscripts should be written in standard English while using ‘ise’ and ‘isation’ instead of ‘ize’ and ‘ization’. The preferred reference source is the Oxford English Dictionary. However, in the case of quotations, the original spelling should be maintained.
  • Heading: Heading levels must be clearly indicated.
  • Tables: The tables and illustrations must be self-explanatory and their content should not be repeated in the text. Refrain from tabulation unnecessarily. They must be numbered and must be included in concise titles
  • Figures and Illustrations: These should be submitted as separate files along with the manuscript, and it is very important that they are high quality: .tif or .jpg files with a resolution of at least 600 dpi.
  • GSLR follows a strict policy against plagiarism. Any form of plagiarism will result in an automatic rejection. Moreover, if the Turnitin similarity index reports over 20% similarity (after making the relevant exclusions such as bibliography, quotes, small matches etc.), then the submission shall be rejected.
  • Manuscripts must be submitted electronically, in Word Format or .docx

Submissions must be accompanied with details of authors such as title of submission,
name of authors, email, phone, college or affiliation, year of study, category of
submission in the body of the email.

  • Co-Authorship: The co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of two authors.
  • The name of the author(s) or affiliation should NOT appear in the word document containing the final submission.
  • Publication fee: There is no fee for publication

NOTE: For manuscripts on the themes of Psychology and Law (S.No. 1,2 and 8) APA Formatting style has to be followed.

Communication of Acceptance

The provisional decision of acceptance will be communicated latest by 15th January, 2022. Following which, the authors will be given 15 days to incorporate all the editorial suggestions and revert to the editorial team. Final acceptance is conditional on the authors making all requisite changes in a timely manner.

Copyright and Exclusivity

Upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication by the editorial board, the copyright over the manuscript shall vest in the Journal. However, the moral rights over the manuscript shall vest in the author(s). The Journal only publishes exclusive content. Once a manuscript is accepted, the same cannot be published elsewhere.

About IMS Unison University

IMS Unison University, formerly Institute of Management Studies, is a private university located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. Call for papers

The goal of this seminar is to shed light on the major challenges surrounding India’s right to health and medical care. Citizens’ health is a top issue for governments all across the world. The governments of numerous countries have legislated and executed various acts and programmes to enhance health, which have had a significant impact on the health status of their citizens.

With that goal in mind, IMS Unison University welcomes legal practitioners, professors, and academics to share their perspectives on health and medical issues and laws in order to raise community understanding. The following sub-themes are merely examples and might incorporate any other theme inside the theme.

Sub Themes

  • The right to health in international human rights law.
  • Right to health and medical care: Constitutional perspective.
  • Role of international institutions in respect of human health.
  • Medical negligence and malpractices.
  • The fundamental right to health care.
  • Artificial intelligence and discrimination in health care.
  • Health justice strategies to combat the pandemic: Eliminating discrimination, poverty, and health disparities during and after COVID-19.
  • Reproductive health rights: Surrogacy, abortion, medical termination of pregnancy, artificial insemination, etc.’
  • Challenges and opportunities for mitigating vulnerabilities associated with the health of living beings.
  • Various public health policies and programs and their implementation.
  • Role of government and other stakeholders in the implementation of Public Health Programs.
  • Lessons from the pandemic: Is IP a barrier to public health?”
  • Draft COTPA Amendment Bill, 2020.
  • Accountability and monitoring of the status of right of health & role of stakeholders.

The above sub-themes are not exhaustive, and the author(s) may select any other relevant issue, giving a comprehensive and indispensable review of developments after independence that effect health laws and practice.

Guidelines for Submission

  • The abstract must be developed on A4-sheet in Word Document Format typed in Times New Roman in 12 font size with 1.5 line spacing is not more than 500 words, it should not contain more than FIVE keywords.
  • The abstract should contain personal details of the author(s) in the order: Title of the paper, Name, Designation, Institute/University/College/Organization, Contact number, E-mail and address (es), of the author(s).
  • Kindly indicate the name of the main author for correspondence in the case of more than one author.
  • All abstracts will be peer-reviewed and evaluated on the basis of originality, research rigour, relevance to the seminar, and contribution to the theory and practice.

How to submit?

Submissions are to be made only in electronic form. The same may be e-mailed to nationalseminar.sol@gmail.com in MS Word format along with a covering letter addressed to Organising Secretary.

Formatting

  • Title- Must be written in bold, size 14 and centered margin.
  • Margin- Manuscripts must be in single spacing, font size 12 in Times New Roman and all margins:1.5 inches (left) and 1 inch (top, right and bottom).
  • Tables- Tables must be placed as part of the text. DO NOT attach tables at the end of themanuscript.
  • Software- Manuscript must be submitted in Microsoft Word 2007 in the above format ONLY.
  • Sub-title- Written in bold, size 12 and left margin.
  • Table/ figures- Title of the tables/figure should be w ritten on the top of the tables/figure. Times New Roman, font 12, Bold and  centered margin.
  • Footnoting- Footnoting should be done strictly according to Bluebook 20th Edition, Times New Roman, Size 10, Line-Spacing 1.5
  • Word Limit- Articles should be generally of 4000-4500 words (excluding references and footnotes).

Rules of Participation

  • No abstract or full paper shall be accepted after the last date of submission.
  • Registration is mandatory on confirmation of acceptance of abstract, with the proof of payment of required fees in the bank account. Only registered participants will be allowed to take part in National Seminar.
  • No refund will be allowed once a participant/paper presenter is registered.
  • All the registered participants will be provided participation/paper presentation certificate.
  • The Best Paper of each session will be acknowledged and awarded.
  • In the event of the seminar being conducted in the offline mode, the participants will be responsible for the arrangement of their personal accommodation. However, we will extend assistance in this regard.
  • Breakfast and lunch to the participants will be provided by the university.
  • Only one co-author is allowed.
  • In-absentia presentations will not be allowed, at least one author must be present for the presentation.
