About the National Conference Committee

The National Conference Committee is a faculty-guided, student-run committee that is entering its 12th glorious year and has been the host for 11 successful national conferences. The committee organizes various workshops and seminars every year.

For this academic year, the committee shall work with various sub-teams (i.e., research team, tech team, creative crew, public relations) the members of which shall be specialised in the same. The National Conference Committee strives to publish an e-book after the event. The research articles submitted and presented of good equality will be chosen in E-book after thorough scrutiny for publication. The virtual platform has provided an opportunity to the committee to broaden its reach and deliver an experience that has never been witnessed before.

Submission Guidelines

The abstract should not exceed 300 words and must be accompanied with a cover page stating:

The abstract file shall be named as: <Theme number>_<full name of the author(s)>.

All submissions of the abstracts for the E-Conference must be electronically submitted.

Formatiing Guidelines

  • The main text of the full paper and the abstract should be in Times New
  • Roman with font size 12 and line spacing of 1.5.
  • The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10 with spacing of
  • 1.0 (Endnotes are not permitted)
  • One inch margins should be maintained on all four sides of the pages.
  • Citation Style: Bluebook, 20th edition.
  • The abstract and full paper have to mandatorily be submitted in .pdf format only.

NOTE

Co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of two authors and at least one author must attend the E Conference to present the paper. No Proxy presentations are allowed. The School of Law, CHRIST in keeping with its mandate of publishing original works only, adopts a stringent anti-plagiarism policy.

Any paper containing any unattributed work is thus liable to be rejected.

About DIAC

The Delhi International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), formerly Delhi High Court Arbitration Centre was established by the High Court under the able leadership of its then Chief Justice Mr Justice Ajit Prakash Shah. DIAC was inaugurated on 25th November 2009 by Mr Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, the then Chief Justice of India. DIAC is the first High Court annexed Arbitration Centre.

It is an institution intended to facilitate and encourage litigating parties to take recourse to arbitration as their chosen mode for settlement of disputes. DIAC ensures the effective settlement of disputes by Arbitration, which is cost and time effective. It was founded by the High Court of Delhi to secure an independent, transparent and professional institution.

About the Opportunity

DIAC is accepting applications for its Internship Programme. It will provide first-hand, practical experience of the role and functions performed by a leading arbitral institution.

At DIAC, you will work with a dynamic, multicultural and professional team of arbitration lawyers on the administration of cases under the DIAC Rules.

Duration of Internship

The maximum period of 4 weeks, which can be extended to 8 weeks.

However, with prior approval of the coordinator of DIAC, the internship may be for a shorter or longer duration.

Mode of Internship

On successful completion of the internship, the intern will be eligible for a certificate from DIAC provided they adhere to the guidelines and have regular attendance at DIAC.

Responsibilities

  • Reading, commenting on and drafting documents related to current arbitration cases.
  • Doing research for the preparation of conferences, presentations and publications.
  • Assisting the team in its daily case-management tasks; reviewing, analysing and commenting on legal submissions.

  • Other projects based on the intern’s interests and background.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 3rd year of study (or higher) of a 5 year law program OR
  • 2nd year of study (or higher) of a 3 year law program OR
  • Law student pursuing LLM/pursuing PhD.

Preference will be given to students showing keen interest in or having knowledge and understanding of Arbitration,
Mediation and Conciliation.

Stipend

DIAC internships are not remunerated.

Cyber-Crimes, financial frauds through digital payments and Data Breaches have become a significant problem in the nation due to the exponential increase in Internet Penetration and the highly affordable Smartphone Market.

These victims of cybercrimes, who have also significantly increased over the years, are often uncertain of what they need to do and how can they approach the situations and are often blamed for the incidents by society or the authorities. Therefore, it becomes necessary for young Law Students to understand how to approach these victims and help them navigate through their issues.

Technololawgy Society, UPES in association with Client Counselling Association and Moot COurt Association, UPES plan to organise the first National Cyber Law Client Counselling Competition, where the clients will be the victims of real cyber-crimes.

About the College

Sree Narayana Law College, Poothotta is one among the most eminent institutions imparting legal education in Kerala. About the Summer Placements-Internship

RBI (Reserve Bank of India) is inviting applications for its Summer Placement Internship Opportunity for 2021, the intake of which is 125 students.

a) post-graduate courses

b) Integrated five-year courses in Management/Statistics/Law/ Commerce/Economics/Econometrics/Banking/Finance or three-year full-time professional Bachelor’s degree in Law from reputed Institutions/Colleges located in India can apply for summer placement during their penultimate year/semester.

Procedure to apply

Eligible students should apply for summer placement through the online web-based application form through their respective institutes to the “Control Offices of Reserve Bank of India”, from 15th September to 31st December of the previous year for an internship starting from April of next year.

Reputed Institutes/Colleges located in India offering Masters in Business Management (MBA/MMS)/Economics/Econometrics/Finance/Banking/Statistics/Commerce/or full-time professional Bachelor’s degree in Law may forward the applications of eligible/interested students to the respective ‘Control Offices of Reserve Bank of India‘ as given below with the recommendations in the prescribed form.

Selection Process

  • The Bank will select a maximum of 125 students for summer placement every year.
  • In the month of November/December each year, the interview for the shortlisted candidates will be held at the offices indicated above.
  • The shortlisted outstation candidates will be required to bear the travel costs of the journey to the office of RBI and back for this purpose.
  • Names of selected students will be communicated to the institutes in the month of December/January.
  • Selected outstation candidates will be reimbursed AC II Tier/1st Class return fare by rail from the place of his/her institute to the place of summer placement for undertaking the project.

Duration

Normally the period of placement will be for a maximum of 3 months during the period from April to July.

The period may be reduced/extended at the discretion of the Bank.

Place of Summer Training

Summer trainees will be required to undertake the project in various Central Office Departments in Mumbai or the respective Control Offices mentioned above under the Para ‘Role of Institutions’.

Stipend

Summer trainees are eligible to receive a monthly stipend of ₹ 20,000/- per month.

Outstation trainees will be required to make accommodation arrangements on their own.
