About the Quiz Competition

In this furtherance, we are pleased to announce the ‘4^thNational UPES– School of Law Constitutional Law Quiz Competition’, to be organized on April  9^th – 10^th, 2022. The competition is divided into three rounds which will be held through offline mode. 

The objective of this event is to provide an opportunity for the students to apply their Constitutional and Human Rights knowledge at the speed of thought.

Eligibility

Students pursuing graduate or postgraduate degree in any field of study can participate in the
competition from any recognized College or University.

General Guidelines

• There will be a capping of 150 participants. Registration will be based on a first-come-first-serve basis.
• In case of any misconduct, the discretion of the organizing committee shall prevail.
• Any participant found using any unfair means will be disqualified.
• In case of any ambiguity in guidelines/conflict on any matter arising in between the competition, the organizing committee shall have the discretion.

• 1st Prize: 7,000 + Trophy + Certificate of merit
• 2nd Prize: 5,000 + Trophy + Certificate of merit

About the Environmental Law Cell

Environmental Law Cell (ELC), one of the many cells/ centers of Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad was established with the motto of incorporating a sense of responsibility towards the environment among students and creating awareness to contribute in the prevention of future degradation of the environment. Through the Cell, the members educate the students in campus and people off campus about the need for environment conservation and Sustainable Development through various activities like plantation drive, awareness camps, national seminars, Quizs, jumble sale, competitions, etc. The Cell also takes the initiative to celebrate environmentally important days through awareness.

About the Event 

Due to the constraints caused by the global pandemic, it has been a difficult task to organise and attend events. Fortunately, technology has been on our side and online modes of certain events, such as Quizzes and webinars could be conducted. We have come up with this interesting and exciting event, the “National Quiz Competition” to create awareness about the theme of the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration and other significant issues related to the environment.

Theme

Following are the themes of the quiz:

The primary basis of the Quiz will be the laws, legislation, and government policies related to the themes mentioned below. The theme of the quiz will be entirely based on environment-related issues.

About the Prize

The winner of this competition shall be awarded an internship with Sarthak Advocates and Solicitors.

They specialize in advising on commercial transactions and disputes across the different industry sectors. They have had the privilege of being invited by several Standing Committees of Parliament to depose as experts on a range of Bills, such as the Higher Education and Research Bill, 2011, National Academic Depositories Bill, 2011, Registration (Amendment) Bill, 2013, Forward Contract Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2011 and Consumer Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2011.

Abhisekh Nath Tripathi, the Founder of the firm, has specialized in various fields such as private equity, joint ventures, power & infrastructure, renewable energy, construction arbitrations and others.

The quiz will be conducted online and seeks to test participants’ knowledge of literary classics, poetry, as well as modern cinematic representations such as movies and shows. The questions will revolve around the theme, plots and trivia about such literary works.

• Format: There will be three rounds each being an eliminator round, with progressively difficult questions. The first two rounds will take place on 18th and the final round will take place on 19th December
• Eligibility: Students from UG, PG Courses from Universities across the country. Only individual participation is allowed.
• Platform: Online [1st and 2nd Round- Google Form; 3 rd Round- G meet]. Details regarding the form and how to access the form will be shared with the individual participants before the quiz.

General Guidelines

• There will be no negative marking. Performance in the Quiz will be evaluated based on “Maximum Correct Answers in the Shortest Time”. For example, if many individuals secure 100 marks, they will be ranked on the basis of the time taken to complete the Quiz, as electronically determined.
• Link will be sent to registered participants on their respective E-mail Id submitted via Google Form.
• To validate participation in the Quiz it is necessary that the participants must attempt the Quiz through the registered E-mail Id only. Any kind of malpractice, such as impersonation, double participation, etc., will render the participation of the individual null and void.
• Organizer will not accept any responsibility for entries that are lost, or are late or incomplete or have not been transmitted due to computer error or any other error beyond the organizer’s reasonable control.
• Organizer reserves the right to amend or withdraw the quiz at any time.
• The organizer reserves the final right with respect to the results declared.
• Once the registration form with details is submitted, the participant bounds himself/herself by the guidelines aforesaid.

The Centre for Research and Studies of Human Rights (CRaSH) under the Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, is an endeavour of the University to respond to the emerging regime of universal laws of Human Rights. With a commitment of novel contributions to the Human Rights regime, the Centre endeavours to undertake interdisciplinary studies involving legal academia and the other stakeholders and contribute in the best possible manner to the global pool of knowledge on the subject.

The Centre aspires to be an incubator of new approaches of law and best practices to better address the complex issues related to the problems faced by human beings while disregarding any form of irrelevant and unreasonable classification of the same. The Centre also seeks to address the critical need for evolution and systematic development of prevalent legal techniques and structures and aims to better address the challenges presented by issues that emerge with the interaction of human beings with law, society and governance.
