About the Competition
The Department of Law, Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be) University, Mullana-Ambala has previously conducted National moot court competitions during the last four academic years and this year again the 5th edition of the same is being organized.
In the last edition of the MM National Moot court competition which was organized from 14.10.19 to 16.0.19, teams from across 23 different Law universities and colleges from all over the country participated.
Out of these 23 teams, the teams from GLC, Mumbai, and Jindal Global Law School, Sonipat reached the final round. Out of the two teams, the team from GLC, Mumb ai was declared as the winner.
This year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 5th MM NATIONAL (VIRTUAL) MOOT COURT COMPETITION-2022 will be conducted on April 11, 12 & 13, 2022 via virtual mode.
Eligibility
The Competition shall be open for
Students, duly enrolled and are pursuing an integrated 5years or 3 years Law Program in India from an institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.
Students enrolled and pursuing a post-graduate diploma or short-term certificate courses in law are not eligible to apply.
Students from any university/ Institute not recognized by the Bar Council of India to impart a Law degree are not eligible to apply.

How to Register?
All interested teams shall, first, register themselves by filling the Registration Form latest by 28th February 2022 11:59 PM by clicking here.
The receipt of the form shall be acknowledged by the institute within 48 hours of submission via mail.
On receipt of acknowledgment by a team, the team shall have to make the payment of registration fees amounting to INR 1,000/- (non-refundable) within 48 hours of the receipt of the acknowledgment and the payment confirmation of same has to be sent on the Official Email Id (by attaching a screenshot of the payment confirmation in the mail). Non-Payment of registration fees within the stipulated time may lead to cancellation of registration.
Registration of a team shall be confirmed only after the receipt of payment by the Organizers.
After the successful payment, the confirmation of registration shall be conveyed to the teams via mail which shall also mention the team code allotted to the teams. During the competition teams shall be identified by the team code allotted to them.
Teams shall not disclose their identity whatsoever, i.e. names of team members, name of their institution, city, etc. or any other information which has the effect of disclosing their identity and affiliation with a particular institution, except in the registration form, during the Competition. How to Register?
The teams willing to participate are required to register for the Competition by filling a registration form and are requested to send the scanned copy to mcsslc2020@gmail.com on or before 25th February, 2022 (11:59 P.M. IST).
While filling the Registration Form, the teams have to choose a primary contact person from the team members. All communications concerning the Competition will be sent by an e-mail to this primary contact person nominated by the team. The nominated primary contact person shall be responsible to convey all the information regarding this competition to the team.
After submission of the Registration Form, an mail confirming the registration and payment will be sent to the primary contact person.
Maximum Thirty-two (32) teams shall be allowed to participate in the Competition, on the basis of first come-first serve basis. The theme of the competition is Cryptocurrency and Smart Contract
IFIM Law School, Bengaluru, through the proposition of its National Moot Court Competition, has attempted to spread awareness and knowledge about cryptocurrencies; especially at this time when there is a big question mark hanging over the regulation of cryptocurrencies.
With the highest number of cryptocurrency users in the world, India has also been focusing on the same and has been actively thinking about ways to answer the question of effective regulation of cryptocurrencies by starting with proposing a bill regarding the same.
The moot proposition has been made in the thought of bringing the most basic to the more complex issues when dealing with smart contracts and the blockchain system. One of the major contentions of the problem relates to the validity of the contract mentioned in the problem, due to its existence in the form of a smart contract, its admissibility in the court of law as a piece of valid evidence and the validity of cryptocurrencies as a lawful consideration.
The other contentions of the problem relate to jurisdiction, drafting of adhesion contracts, unfair trade practices, interpretation of clauses by smart contract mechanism, and the liability to pay damages.
Eligibility
The competition is open only for bona-fide students of recognized Institutions/Universities/Organizations who are currently pursuing their bachelor’s degree in Law i.e. 3-Year LL.B. or 5- Year LL.B. Integrated Program.
Each team shall consist of a minimum of 2 and maximum of 3 members. This number cannot be modified under any circumstances. There shall be 2 speakers and 1 researcher designated in a team of 3 while in case of a team of 2, both members of the team shall be considered to be speakers.
Teams shall identify their speakers and researcher during registration. No extra member or observer shall be allowed. Each team will be provided a team code and each participant will be provided with an individual code which will be communicated to them in due time via email.

About Justice Dipak Misra
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dipak Misra has served as the 45th Chief Justice of India from 28th August 2017 till 2nd October 2018. Born on 3rd October 1953, Justice Misra enrolled at the Bar in 1977 and practiced at the Orissa High Court. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Orissa High Court in 1996 and was transferred to the Madhya Pradesh High Court where he was made a Permanent Judge in 1997.
In December 2009, Justice Misra was appointed Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, serving until May 2010, where he was appointed the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. Justice Misra was elevated to the Supreme Court of India on 10th October 2011 and assumed charge as the Chief Justice of India on 28th August 2017.
A former Judge of Orissa and Madhya Pradesh High Court and a former Chief Justice of Patna and Delhi High Courts, he is a bold and Humane Judge. Justice Misra has been a strong upholder of constitutional values and citizenry rights and a staunch defender of the rights to equality, liberty, and dignity.

Over twelve years, the competition has become one of the biggest moot court competitions in the country which consistently witnesses participation from the top law schools in India with more than 35 top law schools participating in 2021. The competition promises a challenging problem, high competition and excellent judging.
Participants will be provided with the opportunity to argue before an illustrious panel of judges, including judges from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and the Competition Commission of India.
Eligibility

About the Moot Competition
The 3-day National Moot Court Competition aims at inspiring, promoting, and inculcating in law students drafting and writing techniques, engaging in legal oration, high focus research acumen and dealing with the judicial trend in various fields of litigation in India and abroad.
Eligibility and Team Composition
The Competition is open to all bona fide regular students enrolled in any undergraduate law course or its equivalent in any University or Institute within India recognized by the Bar Council or State Government or Central Government as the case may be. Team size and other information
Each team shall include two (2) speakers, who shall be accompanied by one (1) researcher all of whom shall be designated accordingly.

This year’s case has been drafted to test the knowledge, research aptitude and application of law by the participants in the field of laws regarding Industrial Disputes, Employment Laws, provisions governing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and constitutional provisions governing Freedom of Trade under Article 19.
Eligibility
The competition is open for students who are studying LLB three year or five-year courses during the current academic year interested in Employment Law.
Team Composition
Each team should consist of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 members. This number cannot be modified under any circumstances.
There shall be 2 speakers and 1 researcher designated for each team. The researcher shall be allowed to argue with the prior permission of the court and National Administrator in case of illness of the designated speakers.
Registration Details
Online registrations are open from 6th October 2021. The teams must register online by 14th February 2022. Teams will have to register online at www.moot.in
Only 40 teams will be registered to participate in the competition on a first-come-first-serve basis
No temporary registration requests will be entertained. Kindly refrain from sending such requests to Surana & Surana or SOL, Raffles University.
Participants will receive an automated system generated acknowledgement on successful submission of registration. Participants will receive an approval as acceptance of their request for participation latest by 16th February 2022 or earlier.

Option 1: The Registration form cum Approval letter as provided in the rules duly signed & sealed by your university/college/moot society.
Option 2: Upload both (i) & (ii) together as a single PDF
The Registration form cum Approval letter (without seal & signature) as provided in the rules duly filled along with a Scanned copy of the authorization letter with a sign and seal from your university/college/moot society.

Email communication from the official id (to be filled as notification email id during the online registration process) of the institution, from your university/college/moot society to complete the registration process.
Note:
Signatories on the registration form should be any of the following: Faculty-in-charge of MCA/MCS/MCC, Registrar, Dean, Principal, Director, Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor.
Registration without the scanned copy of the approval letter/an email communication from the college/institution/university or duly attested registration form will not be valid.

The provisional team code shall be allotted to the registered teams by Host University soon after receiving of registration particulars along with the registration fee.

In the event a team drops out of the competition or is disqualified the team next in line as per registration data (When the registration exceeds beyond the permitted 40 teams) will be offered the chance to participate in the competition at short notice.
Such teams will have to submit memorials to be eligible at least 3 days prior to the start of the competition.
