Submission Guidelines

The submissions must be sent to submissions.iclrap@gmail.com in an MS word document. The word limit for the manuscripts is between 1000-1500 words. Kindly note that the word limit is exclusive of footnotes. Strict adherence to the word limit is highly advised. No submissions will be accepted if sent to any other email address. The maximum number of co-authors permitted is two.

Formatting

The manuscript submitted by the author(s) must adhere to the following font styles:

  • The manuscript submitted must be typed in Times New Roman.
  • The line spacing must be 1.5.
  • The font size of the title: 14, *Headings – Size12 – Bold and underlined – Justified
  • Body text: Size 12
  • The text should be justified.

Citation Style

The author(s) are requested to provide the link of the sources which have been cited by them in the main body and are required to follow the OSCOLA citation method (4th edition). The citations should be in Numeric Form, Font Times New Roman, Size 10, and in single line spacing. Endnotes are not to be used.

Other Instructions

About Legal Aid Society

The Legal Aid Society, National Law University Odisha, is a student-run committee of the University, constituted in 2012. The Society carries out its functions with the sole aim of providing access to justice to the disadvantaged and marginalized sections of the population, primarily by spreading legal awareness and legal education in educational institutions and underprivileged communities.

Call for Blogs

On November 26, 1949, the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on January 26, 1950. While January 26 is celebrated as Republic Day, since 2015, November 26 has been observed as the Constitution Day of India or Samvidhan Divas.

Themes

The Legal Aid Society on the occasion of Constitution Day of India invites submissions on the topics which may revolve around the following themes.

  • Article 39A of the Constitution: Free Legal Aid
  • The Right to Information
  • The Public Interest Litigation

The sub-themes may include but are not limited to the Scope of Amendments in law, Judicial trends, Challenges to the law, Comparative analysis, Suggestions and recommendations. The sub-themes are directory in nature and the authors are advised not to keep a confined view.

Submission Guidelines

  1. The Blog accepts submissions on a rolling basis. The submissions have to be unpublished and should be the original work of the author(s). Co-authorship of up to two authors is permitted.
  2. Please mail all your submissions to nluolas@gmail.com with the subject Blog Submission: “Title”, only in a Microsoft Office Word-compatible format (.doc or .docx), PDFs will not be accepted. There must be no hint, whatsoever, of the authors’ identity in the word document submitted.
  3. The submission must be between 1000-1500 words. Longer posts may be accepted and published in parts subject to the discretion of the editors. The word limit is exclusive of the endnotes (if any). The citation format used for the endnotes must be uniform, preferably the latest edition of the Bluebook.
  4. The References must be in the form of hyperlinks, linked to keywords and phrases in the body of the submission. For Indian case law, the authors may provide links to the case, if available, at https://indiankanoon.org/, or the website of the relevant court. Factual assertions must be supported with appropriate links to sources. The authors may mention particular sections of the statute using https://www.indiacode.nic.in/.
  5. The submission must be in document formatted using Times New Roman font, size 12, line spacing 1.5, and Justified. For the endnotes the font size changes to 10 with a line spacing of 1, while the font remaining constant.
  6. Analytical posts are preferred over descriptive ones. Posts will be considered for publication based on various factors, including but not limited to relevance, quality, structure, logic, writing-style and originality.
  7. The body of the email must contain a short bio of the author(s) and the name of the institution that they are affiliated to. Submissions are welcomed from students, academicians and practitioners alike. The email must include a paragraph or two succinctly summarising the manuscript submitted.
  8. Once posted on the Legal Aid Corner NLUO, a submission may be cross-posted on other platforms. The cross-post must carry the words ‘First posted on the Legal Aid Corner NLUO’, with a link to the post.

  10. Language use shouldn’t be abusive or result in disrepute of any third person.
  11. They don’t accept plagiarised content and in case of gross plagiarism found in the contents of the submitted manuscript, the manuscript shall be subject to rejection.
  12. Copyright of all blog posts shall remain with the Blog for Law and Technology.
  13. All moral rights shall vest with the author(s).
  14. The manuscripts not abiding to the above guidelines are liable to be rejected.
  15. Final discretion of acceptance of the manuscript lies with the Editorial Board after undergoing the procedure of blind peer-review.

About the Blog

Centre for Research in Competition Law and Policy was established by Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur (DNLU) on February 24, 2020 after the Competition Commission of India empaneled DNLU into a panel of reputed institutions having expertise in law, economics, finance, and management for Competitive Assessment of Economic Bills and Legislations. 

CRCLP Blog is a student run initiative of Centre for Research in Competition Law and Policy to promote legal discourse and research in the field of competition law.   • The blog encourages articles that deal with issue of Competition Law and Policy of contemporary relevance. However, you may analyse an old-issue or take up an issue that is not sufficiently discussed on other forums.

About the CLS-TNNLU Blog

The CLS Blog of TNNLU is a forum created by the Constitutional Law Society, TNNLU with the objective of enriching the dialogue surrounding contemporary issues of Constitutional Law.   • We prefer an article that is between 1200-2000 words. However, flexibility is allowed if the content so requires, and the quality is ensured.
  • The Editorial Board may, at its discretion, allow the publication of unconventional and analytical book reviews and case comments. Co-authorship up to two authors is allowed.
  • Author(s) must write a small (50-75 words) brief of the article at the beginning of the manuscript. Authors may also mention 3-5 keywords at the end of such brief.
  • Vedanam welcomes articles which fall within the vast universe of Law and Interdisciplinary research is highly encouraged.
  • Entries which present creative and enriching perspective on contemporary legal issues will be much appreciated.
  • All the relevant sources must be duly acknowledged and hyperlinked in the text of the manuscript itself. 
  • Endnotes will be accepted if the said reference cannot be accommodated through hyperlinks, and must be formatted in accordance with OSCOLA (Latest Edition).
  • All works submitted must be original and unpublished. Any form of plagiarism will lead to disqualification for publication on the Blog (Vedanam).
  • We request the author(s) to kindly refrain from mentioning the name, institutional affiliation or any other detail of the author(s) in the document and the tittle of the document to facilitate the double-blind review process.
  • Whenever possible use Italics to indicate the text you wish to emphasize on rather than underlining it.
  • The author(s) is also required to attach a suitable image to accompany the blog in a separate document. Please make sure you mention the source of the image in the email, for the purposes of ensuring that Vedanam accords the source due credits. It should be of high quality with a width of 1080 pixels and height of 540 pixels.

Formatting Guidelines

  • The content (including endnotes, if any) should be written in Garamond font with a size of 13. The font size of the Heading and any sub-headings should be 14. Line Spacing is to be maintained at 1.5.
  • The content of the writing should be Justified. Use Centre Alignment for the Main Heading as well as for sub-headings.
  • The author(s) is recommended to use Headings and Sub-headings in order to allow readers to navigate the article with ease.

How To Contribute

  • All manuscript shall be sent to vedanam@canfoundation.in with the subject ‘Submission of manuscript for Vedanam’.
  • Articles should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.docx) only.
  • Details of the author(s) should not be mentioned in the file containing the article.
  • Author(s) must include their full name, institution/organization, email address, photograph and a bio not exceeding 100 words in a separate cover letter.
