ABOUT

ELIGIBILITY

  • Only one team can participate from one Institution/University/College.

DETAILS

  • Each team shall consist of-
    • Three members i.e. two mooters and one researcher only.
    • All three members of the team should belong to the same Institution.
    • In no situation whatsoever a team consisting of more than 3 members shall be allowed to participate. No observer/ additional member can be a part of the team in any capacity.
    • There shall be no substitution of any team member after a team has submitted its registration form, except with the permission of the Organizers.
  • To confirm participation, teams of every Institution should register themselves. The registration link is given at the end of this post.
  • The scanned copy of the duly filled registration form must be uploaded in the Google Registration Form.
  • There is no Registration fee. However, it is mandatory for the participants to register themselves at the abovementioned link.
  • The duly filled Google Form for registration with team details must be submitted to the organizing committee at lawcollegeng@gmail.com on or before September 5, 2022.
  • Each team shall be given a ‘‘Team Code’’ by the Organizers on validation of their Google Form after registration confirmation.
  • The teams shall use their designated “Team Code” for all correspondence with the Organizers.
  • The same team code must be used by the teams during the submission of Memorials and the Competition.

PRIZES

  • The winner of the Final Round will be awarded an E-Merit Certificate and a cash prize of INR 8,000.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • The soft copy of the contributions is to be forwarded at ailjournal2023@gmail.com.
  • All subscriptions and correspondence concerning the Journal should be sent to the Editor: Dr Kirandeep Kaur, Assistant Professor of Law, Army Institute of Law, Mohali.
  • All manuscripts must be accompanied by:
    • A covering letter with the name(s) of the author(s), official designation institution/affiliation, the title of the manuscript and contact information (correspondence address, email, phone number etc).
    • A Certificate that the paper submitted is a piece of original and bonafide research work and has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
    • Similarity Index Report from recognized Similarity Checker Software (Plagiarism Report).
    • Contributions should be in the English language only and in conformity with AIL’s scheme and style.
    • Electronic submissions should ideally be made in Word Format (doc)/(docx).
    • Text and citation style should strictly conform to the rules of the Indian Law Institute (ILI). This mode of citation must be strictly followed otherwise the paper shall not be considered for publication.
    • No biographical information or references, including the name(s) of the author(s), affiliation(s) and acknowledgements should be included in the text of the manuscript, the name or document properties.
    • All such information may be incorporated in the covering letter accompanying the manuscripts.
  • The Journal encourages the original work of the contributors for publication and plagiarized work will not be considered for publication. The Journal also promotes gender neutrality.
  • The articles in the Journal shall be edited and published according to the orthographical and grammatical rules of Indian English, which is based on British English; thus, submissions in American English will be modified accordingly.
  • In the case of references from websites, the complete URL address, along with the last date of accessing the website should be mentioned.
  • Manuscripts shall be assessed by subjection to Blind Review Procedure. Reviewers shall not be informed of the author’s name, university/institution, designation, or any other personal information.
  • All authors are to certify that the paper submitted is a piece of original and bonafide research work and has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  • Copy right of all entries received shall exclusively vest with the Army Institute of Law. The submission of work would imply that the contributor has assigned such rights to AIL on its publication in the journal.
  • Author/s are required to obtain written permission for the use of any copyrighted material in the manuscript and must communicate the same to the Editorial Board. Such material may include tables, charts, graphs etc.
  • Authors are also required to inform the Editorial Board if they have submitted their manuscripts to another law journal and if they have received an offer of publication.
  • In case the article is not published, then the author shall be intimated by the Institute through e-mail and he/she may then send it for publication elsewhere.
  • Mere submission of a contribution shall not confer any claim for publication. The Editorial Board reserves all rights to take the decision to publish the contribution or not. The Board’s decision as regards the interpretation of guidelines or any other matter relating to the publication shall be final.
  • Author/s are requested to verify references and quotations before submitting the manuscripts. The author shall be entitled to one copy of the journal in case of publication. In case there is a co-author, two copies shall be given.
  • Word Limit
    • Article/Research Papers: The word limit is between 4,000 to 6,000 words (including footnotes).
  • Procedure For Acceptance
    • On receipt of the contribution, Constituted Committee shall screen it to satisfy itself about the conformity of the contribution with the AIL conditions and policy for submission of the manuscripts.
    • The screened work shall be assessed by the referees.
    • A contribution recommended by the referee as fit for publication as such or recommended for publication with necessary amendments, if any, shall be considered for publication after the author would submit the amended paper accordingly.
  • The author will be given one week to carry out the changes thus suggested.

Kerala Law Academy is organizing its 3rd National Trial Advocacy Competition (Virtual), 2022 scheduled to be held from October 13 to 15, 2022.

ABOUT

Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram will be hosting the 3rd National Trial Advocacy Competition (Virtual), 2022 on Criminal Law in accordance with the Criminal Trial Court proceedings. The Competition has been conceived with the aim of creating awareness for Criminal Law Jurisprudence and providing a platform for the development of advocacy and other allied skills.

TEAM COMPOSITION

  1. The Competition is open to all Law Colleges/Law Schools/Universities, Departments of Law in India recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  2. The participation is limited to LL. B students both in the Three-Year Scheme and Five-Year Scheme.
  3. Each team shall consist of a maximum of 3 members.
  4. The composition shall be of two speakers and one researcher.
  5. The team shall notify such an arrangement during the time of registration.
  6. Any changes shall be informed to the organizers, on or before October 10, 2022.
  7. Such a team shall not during any stage of the competition rearrange the position of its members to form any new combination.
  8. No coach/assistant/person shall be permitted in the room during the conduct of the trial other than the participants.

ELIGIBILITY

All communication and procedure during and of the competition shall be in English. Any kind of communication in any other language will lead to immediate disqualification.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

  • Only one team per College/Institution shall be permitted to take part in the Competition.
  • Provisional Registration – Institutions/Teams interested in participating in the Competition can provisionally register by sending an e-mail to klatrialadvocacy2022@gmail.com along with an authorization letter/ email from the corresponding college.
  • Direct Registration – The – Institutions/Teams intending to participate in the Competition must register on or before September 20, 2022, Tuesday (20.09.2022) by submitting the duly filled Proforma provided on the Kerala Law Academy website.
  • Registration Fee
    • The participants shall pay a non-refundable initial registration fee of 800/- rupees through the college website to enter the competition.
    • The teams which are selected after clearing the procedural test shall pay an additional amount of 2,000/- rupees on qualifying for the main competition through the link which will be sent to you after selection.
    • After completing the payment, a copy of the transaction (either a screenshot or a photo) shall be sent to the email ID – klatrialadvocacy2022@gmail.com with your details.
    • Only after acknowledgment from the organizers, the registration will be completed.

  • This team code is only for the memorials. Teams should not disclose the identity of their institution in their memorials; such disclosure shall invite penalties including disqualification.
