The Legal Support Associate Officer

Sr Legal Support Officer is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports activities related to legal operations, technology, budget/expenses, risk/controls, litigation/discovery/settlements or administration
  • Performs varied work requests from multiple sources that may be complex in character and have tight deadlines
  • Responsible for tasks associated with programs and projects where tactical decisions and recommendations for technical approaches are necessary
  • Provides analysis of matters in support of resolution of complex and variable situations or to formulate an approach
  • Oversees a support area or visibility to senior Legal managers
  • Liaise with other control and functional business in support of projects and initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Experience working in corporate legal department, law firm, financial services, consulting, technology firm or related industry
  • Must have advanced organizational skills, attention to detail, exceptional verbal communication and listening skills
  • Knowledge of legal customs and practices
  • Project management skills

  • Support the UK Senior Manager, CCC to oversee and be responsible for CCC operations delivery across the UK whilst working with colleagues in the US, India, and Philippines

  • Institutionalize and regularly evaluate the efficiency of business procedures according to BU (Business Unit) goals and objectives and apply improvements

  • Must have a law degree or GDL required. LPC preferred.
  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts, licensing and /or other technology-related agreements
  • Previous experience creating and implementing business processes to make the legal operations more efficient
  • Experience creating contract negotiation playbooks and other tools to standardize contract negotiations
  • Experience with contract management platforms like Apttus, Determine, Conga, Ariba, Onit, SciQuest, Corridor and ThinkSmart is essential

About the Internship

The MP-IDSA Internship Program is highly competitive and especially useful for young students who have completed a first degree in any discipline relevant to the work of MP-IDSA. Internships ideally last for a period of not less than 6 months and can be extended to a year on mutual agreement.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of a Masters degree in a relevant discipline. Those pursuing the final year of a Masters degree may also apply.

  • Names of selected students will be communicated to the institutes in the month of December/January.
  • Selected outstation candidates will be reimbursed AC II Tier/1st Class return fare by rail from the place of his/her institute to the place of summer placement for undertaking the project.

Duration

Normally the period of placement will be for a maximum of 3 months during the period from April to July.

The period may be reduced/extended at the discretion of the Bank.

Place of Summer Training

Summer trainees will be required to undertake the project in various Central Office Departments in Mumbai or the respective Control Offices mentioned above under the Para ‘Role of Institutions’.

Stipend

Summer trainees are eligible to receive a monthly stipend of â‚¹20,000/- per month.
