Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT WPU is the Flagship University of MAEER’s MIT Group of institutes, which has over 100,000 alumni all over the world. MIT WPU Campus is in Kothrud, Pune, and is the most preferred destination for students.

School of Law was established in the year 2018 and with the launch of this School, a new chapter began at MIT WPU. Within a short span of three years, MIT WPU has become the preferred destination for pursuing higher education in Law. The School of Law provides value-based learning in Law programs through interactive sessions, hands-on practical sessions, moots, classroom presentations, industry-driven assignments. 

About the Competition

MIT-WPU Faculty of Law cordially invites your college to participate in CCI – MIT WPU School of Law 2nd National Moot Court Competition 2022. Which is going to be held from April 28th to 30th, 2022. This competition intends to allow young law students to develop their skills in drafting, researching and advocating.

The objective of this moot court competition is to test the research skills of students in contemporary topics in the sphere of competition law and provide a platform where students can learn about competition from industry experts.  

Eligibility

The moot is open to all the students currently enrolled in LLB undergraduate degree courses. The competition has been designed for all the students pursuing law courses at different Universities/Institutes/Colleges approved by the Bar Council of India. 

Students pursuing the five-year integrated law degree as well as students pursuing the 3-year law degree are eligible for participation in this competition.

About the Organizers

The Government Law College, established in 1855, is the oldest in Asia, a pioneer in legal education – an institution par excellence. The generations of legal luminaries who have been nurtured by this unique institution have made a seminal contribution to the evolution of the Indian Legal System.

The Chamber of Tax Consultants (CTC) Mumbai is a non-profit organization established in 1926. The organization was formed to serve the object of educating and creating awareness among its members in Direct Tax, Indirect Tax, Allied Laws, Corporate Laws, International Tax, etc.

Eligibility

All students of any recognized law college in the country can participate.

Team Composition: Each team shall comprise three students- two speakers and one researcher.

Format of the Moot Competition

  • A maximum of 16 teams shall participate, and the registrations shall be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • The competition will be conducted in a hybrid model.
  • The Prelim and Quarter Final rounds will be held online on June 5, 2022, and the Semifinals and Finals will be held offline on June 18, 2022, in Mumbai.
  • The said Rounds shall be judged by members of the tax fraternity, Hon’ble Members of the ITAT, and the Hon’ble Judges of the High Court.
  • There shall be prizes for the Winning Team, Runner up Team, Best Speaker, Runner up Speaker, and Best Memorial.

The Moot Problem

This year, the Moot Proposition shall be based on Income Tax Act, 1961.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The competition is open to all Law students pursuing 5-year and 3-year LL.B. courses.
  • Male candidates can also participate, but the ratio of participants should be 2:1 (2 female & 1 Male Participant)
  • Each University/Institute shall be eligible to send one team. The team should not disclose the identity of their institution in the course of proceedings in the courtrooms; such disclosure shall invite penalties, including disqualification.

Team Composition

  • Each team shall comprise of 3 members only, out of which two (2) will be Mooters and one (1) researcher.
  • Each team shall be provided with the team code by draw of lots followed by an exchange of memorials.

Eligibility

The Competition is open to bona fide undergraduate students of recognized colleges/institutions/universities who are currently pursuing their Bachelor’s Degree in Law i.e. 3year LLB or 5 year Integrated or Honour’s LLB Programme with all combinations on a regular basis.

Team Composition

  • Each team shall comprise of a maximum of three members, where two shall be speakers and one researcher. The number cannot be modified under any circumstances.
  • Teams shall identify the speakers and researcher during registration. No extra member or observer shall be allowed.
  • Not more than one shall be allowed to register and participate in the competition from the same College/Institution/University.

TMV’s Lokmanya Tilak Law College endeavors to develop legal acumen and research skills of the students and provide a platform to explore emerging issues of law through its 2nd Bal Gangadhar Tilak National Moot Court Competition (Online) 2022.

Eligibility

  1. Students pursuing 3/5 year Law Course are eligible to participate in this competition.
  2. Only one team can participate from each institution.

Team Composition

  • Each team of the competition shall consist of the three (3) members, two (2) Speakers, & one (1) researcher.
  • All the three members of the team, should belong to the same institute. No cross teams i.e. members of different institutes/universities, shall be allowed.
  • Each team should identify such speakers and researchers at the time of registration.
  • There shall be no circumstance whatsoever that a team consisting of more than 3 members be allowed to participate. No observer/ additional member can be part of a team in any capacity.
  • There shall be no substitution of any team member after a team has submitted its Registration Form, except with the permission of the Organizers.

About the Moot Court Competition

The CMR National Moot Court Competition, the flagship event at CMR University, School of Legal Studies is a biennial event that witnesses participation by premier legal institutions in the country. This competition attempts to facilitate the development of interpretation and legal reasoning skills in the participating students, with a benign hope of encouraging them to achieve greater heights. The previous edition of the same was held virtually in the year 2020.

The current edition shall be restricted to a total participation by not more than 20 teams competing in two preliminary rounds to be judged by experienced advocates, professionals and law teachers from Bangalore.

Each semi- final round shall be judged by a bench of 3 senior advocates and the final round shall be presided by a bench of 5 sitting judges from the High Court of Karnataka.

This moot, as any other, expects to present important questions of law that are challenging yet accessible and inviting; and enable participants to present the best of themselves -as aspiring practitioners of law and as ladies/gentlemen with integrity, wisdom, and eloquence.

Eligibility

Participation is strictly restricted to bona fide law students enrolled in the 3-year or 5-year LL.B. degree course in any institution in India.

About the Competition

The Department of Law, Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be) University, Mullana-Ambala has previously conducted National moot court competitions during the last four academic years and this year again the 5th edition of the same is being organized.

In the last edition of the MM National Moot court competition which was organized from 14.10.19 to 16.0.19, teams from across 23 different Law universities and colleges from all over the country participated.

Out of these 23 teams, the teams from GLC, Mumbai, and Jindal Global Law School, Sonipat reached the final round. Out of the two teams, the team from GLC, Mumb ai was declared as the winner.

Eligibility

The Competition shall be open for

  • Students, duly enrolled and are pursuing an integrated 5years or 3 years Law Program in India from an institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • Students enrolled and pursuing a post-graduate diploma or short-term certificate courses in law are not eligible to apply.
  • Students from any university/ Institute not recognized by the Bar Council of India to impart a Law degree are not eligible to apply.

How to Register?

  • The receipt of the form shall be acknowledged by the institute within 48 hours of submission via mail.
  • On receipt of acknowledgment by a team, the team shall have to make the payment of registration fees amounting to INR 2,000/- (non-refundable) within 48 hours of the receipt of the acknowledgment and the payment confirmation of same has to be sent on the Official Email Id (by attaching a screenshot of the payment confirmation in the mail). Non-Payment of registration fees within the stipulated time may lead to cancellation of registration.
  • Registration of a team shall be confirmed only after the receipt of payment by the Organizers.
  • After the successful payment, the confirmation of registration shall be conveyed to the teams via mail which shall also mention the team code allotted to the teams. During the competition teams shall be identified by the team code allotted to them.
  • Teams shall not disclose their identity whatsoever, i.e. names of team members, name of their institution, city, etc. or any other information which has the effect of disclosing their identity and affiliation with a particular institution, except in the registration form, during the Competition. Any such disclosure shall invite strict penalties including disqualification. The decision for the same shall be at the discretion of the Organizers.

About the Jeppiaar Virtual Moot Court Competition 2022

The School of Law of SIST (Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology) is organizing the Col. Dr. Jeppiaar 3rd All India Virtual Moot Court Competition 2022, to be held from April 28 to 30, 2022.

Eligibility and Team Composition

  • Students pursuing their bachelor’s degree in Law, i.e., either 3 year or 5-year courses from all law colleges/institutions/universities across the country recognized by the Bar Council of India are eligible to take part in the competition.
  • All three members of a team should belong to the same institution, cross-institute teams are strictly ineligible to participate in the Col. Dr. Jeppiaar 3rd All India Virtual Moot Court Competition 2022.

Team Composition

  • Each team shall comprise of two speakers and one researcher (team of 3 members) or two speakers (team of 2 members).
  • Only one team per college shall be allowed to participate.
  • Any team, intending to change the team composition of the team shall intimate the Organizing Committee by sending an e-mail to cdjmmccofficial@gmail.com

How to Register?

Provisional Registration

Note: For provisional registration, an email stating the institution’s name, email ID, concerned person’s phone number shall be sent to cdjmmccofficial@gmail.com

Once the provisional registration is successfully completed, the teams are required to complete the main registration.

The last date for provisional registration is April 10, 2022.

Registration form

The Main Registration shall be completed by filling up the google form through the link given at the end of this post.

The Google Form must be filled once by each team and the College Identity Card/ any other identification document of each participant must also be uploaded with the Google Forms. The section for the same has been created in the form.

Teams are supposed to complete their Registration by April 15, 2022 by 11:59 pm IST.

The Mode of Payment of the registration fee shall be Account Transfer or UPI transfer.

The Registration fee shall be paid online in favour of the below-mentioned Account.

About the 6th C.L Agarwal Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2022

The university is privileged to announce the organization of the 6th Edition of their flagship event, C.L. AGARWAL MEMORIAL NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2022’, to be held from 27 th April – 29 th April 2022. The event will take place physically.

This competition is being organized in collaboration with ‘Rajasthan Education Trust’, a public charitable trust based out of Jaipur.

Being inspired by the works of Late Shri. C.L. Agarwal and his contribution to the field of Law, Education and Philanthropy, Hon’ble Justice V.S. Dave who had the privilege of close association with Late Shri C.L. Agarwal, became mentor and source of assertive and affective motivation and guidance to the organizers (School of Law, Raffles University) in conducting this prestigious Moot Court Competition.

This year’ s case has been drafted to test the knowledge, research aptitude, and application of the law by the participants in the fields of International Law, Criminal laws, IT laws, etc.

Team Composition and Eligibility Criteria

  • Each team shall comprise of three (3) members out of which two (2) will be speakers and one (1) researcher. An observer is allowed to be brought to the competition with a condition that he/she shall not intervene in any proceedings.
  • The competition is open for bonafide students pursuing 5 Years and 3 Years Law programs in India.
  • Each Law College shall be eligible to send one team. Each team shall be provided with the TEAM CODE. Team should not disclose the identity of their institution in course of proceedings in the court rooms; such disclosure shall invite penalties including disqualification.

How to Register?

  • The teams are requested to send an e-copy of the Registration Form to mcc@rafflesuniversity.edu.in on or before April 5, 2022.
  • A registration fee of Rs. 4500/- (Rupees Four Thousand and Five Hundred Only) is to be paid by way of Online Money Transfer/UPI/Paytm/Google in favour of Raffles University. The charges for observer will be Rs. 800 (Eight Hundred only) per day.
