ABOUT

The Punjab Good Governance Fellowship Programme is a unique collaboration between the Government of Punjab and the Indian School of Business (ISB) to bring about social impact while providing training and exposure.

Under this 2-year fellowship, 20 young professionals will be placed at the State headquarter (Chandigarh) as Governance Fellows (GF), and 29 will be placed across the districts and in 6 Municipal Corporations as District Development Fellows (DDF) in Punjab, to bring about reforms in governance and improvement in project implementation while gaining considerable training and exposure.

ISB is the knowledge partner with the Government of Punjab for this fellowship and will lead the recruitment and capacity building of the chosen fellows. The fellows will be on the payroll of the Government of Punjab and the terms and conditions decided by the Government would apply.

Recruited fellows will earn 8 lakhs per annum. They will also get an opportunity to pursue a certificate course Understanding Public Policy in India, which is offered by ISB Executive Education.

ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications

  • Post-graduation along with a minimum of 1 year of full-time work experience or Graduation along with a minimum of 3 years of full-time work experience.
  • Proficient in English. Knowledge of Hindi and Punjabi will be an added advantage.
  • Age between 23-35 years.
  • Indian citizenship.
  • Please note that internships and volunteering don’t count as work experience.

Qualities

  • Prior experience in the policy and development sector.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of data analysis skills.
  • Track record of initiative-taking and successful leadership roles.
  • Willing to travel and stay anywhere in Punjab as per the needs of the program.
  • Demonstrated analytical and writing skills are highly preferred.

ABOUT

India Fellow is an 18-month leadership program for young professionals from various walks of life, willing to live and work alongside some really remote and marginalized communities and find their leadership potential to bring about change.

It is an experiential journey to immerse in the social realities of our country and be our best version to build a better future.

India Fellow has the following four major aspects:

  1. Working with Communities: India Fellows spend most of their time (16.5 months) working at the grassroots with leading social organizations committed to bringing positive change. This can be anywhere across the country. The fellow is expected to live in their work area, typically a rural or a peri-urban setup, and understand the complexities at that level.
  2. Training: India Fellow has 45 days of residential training, spread across the duration of 18 months. This is divided into 3 parts of 15 days each at the start, middle and end of the journey. The India Fellow pedagogy is unique; it engages a strong collective of various leaders, academicians, social scientists and practitioners. Training is in locations like Udaipur, Delhi, Bhuj, the Himalayan belt, and Sundarbans amongst others.
  3. Constant engagement: Throughout the duration, fellows document their observations, experiences and insights; engage in intense blended learning modules, and group online courses for certification and fundraising to build a holistic understanding of the development and gain crucial skill sets.
  4. Mentor-ship: Every fellow is exposed to a pool of mentors, who are experts with deep experience in their domain. Along with that, the fellowship ecosystem consists of facilitators, alumni and experienced professionals who are available to interact with the fellows to enrich their experience.

STIPEND

The fellow also gets a modest but adequate stipend from the host organization for sustenance. This is INR 22,000 per month in metro cities and INR 18,000 per month in the rest of the country. This ensures that they do not spend anything out of pocket on this journey.

ELIGIBILITY

  • You are between 20 to 30 years of age
  • You are already a graduate (in any discipline) or will be before the fellowship begins on 10th April 2023.

ROLES

  • You are ready for an 18-month full-time commitment to the fellowship until 5th October 2024.
  • You understand that this is not just a job and will expect you to be engaged 24X7 with the local community
  • You understand that you can be placed in any part of India (outside your hometown) on any social issue.

SELECTIONS

  • Respond to a situation judgement test online.
  • Attend the assessment day (group activities and personal interviews).

Prerana Vidyalaya is seeking applications from eligible candidates for its’s two-month Prerna Teaching Fellowship.

ABOUT

Prerana Teaching Fellowship is a minimum 2-month fellowship to assist Prerana Vidyalaya in all its activities. One of the main aims would be to help students speak in English and also build a strong online presence of the Vidyalaya. 

DURATION

2 months (minimum). One can join anytime starting June 2022.

DETAILS

  1. In School: Help with all the school-related activities (scholastic and non-scholastic) especially, teaching the English language. Also, help with strengthening the school’s social media presence.
  2. At Manav Teerth: Participate in its daily activities such as shram (physical work in the gaushala/vegetable farming/kitchen, etc), exercise, and maintaining the campus culture.
  3. Experience living a self-regulated routine in the midst of nature with like-minded young individuals and families.
  4. Learn to live with a diverse group of people, multi-task, become physically fit, build a broad vision of education, and learn simple yet effective learning techniques.

GPODS Fellowship is a program for public policy practitioners, business professionals, energy and climate change experts, entrepreneurs, academicians, scholars, and strategic analysts to act as a launchpad for their careers. Job Description

Position: Assistant Professor/Fellow, Initiative on Climate, Energy and Environment, Centre for Policy Research (Full-time)

  • The role of an Assistant Professor/Fellow is to identify topical areas of research and policy, conduct research and publish outputs, build partnerships and engage policymakers, and obtain funding to support this work.
  • This position requires the capacity to work independently and autonomously on a number of research and policy projects simultaneously.
  • Applicants must have research interests related to climate policy and governance in India and internationally, though there is flexibility in the candidate’s specific research areas within these broad fields. They understand climate policy in broad terms to include, for example, related economic policy, sectoral transitions, sub-national action, emissions and energy modelling, and institutional arrangements.
  • The candidate will develop his or her independent policy research agenda and will simultaneously work in collaboration with other ICEE faculty.
  • In addition, the candidate will be expected to contribute and participate in broader research discussions within the Initiative and CPR.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant social science discipline or applied sciences with demonstrated policy engagement. MA/MS candidates will only be considered if the candidate brings considerable policy experience.
  • At least 3 publications in refereed journals(highly desirable).
  • 2 years of work experience with a demonstrated interest in climate policy and governance is highly desirable.
  • Good research and writing skills are essential.
  • Ability to communicate and work with a team that draws from diverse disciplines.
  • Ability to participate in the Centre for Policy Research’s broader intellectual agenda.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and undertake policy-relevant high-quality research:
    o Explore research opportunities, develop research proposals, and design implementation
    plans
    o Undertake and oversee quantitative and/or qualitative data collection using different
    research tools
    o Prepare clearly written academic publications, analytical reports, public outreach and
    other forms of dissemination of research

2. Undertake research-backed policy engagement:
o Communicate with governmental and non-governmental stakeholders, present research
ideas and engage in discussion
o Build networks that enable engagement in policy debate
o Inform public debate and discussion on the basis of research

3. Contribute to intellectual life and administrative functioning of CPR
o Mentor and assist staff and early-stage researchers in the organization
o Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities as required
by the organization
o Provide oversight of administrative functioning through committee roles
o Any other related assignments may be entrusted by the reporting authority
