ABOUT

The Centre for Training and Research in Commercial Regulations was established with the view to encourage and promote discussion, training, and research in areas of Commercial Law and allied areas by bringing together academicians, professionals, legal experts, economists, regulators, judges, and students. Our aim is to discuss, debate & spread awareness about contemporary changes & challenges faced by different businesses in the Indian & International Market and to be able to generate literary academia where people from various forums can come together to exhibit their knowledge and expertise and serve as a platform for people from all diverse fields to share their nuances about commercial and regulatory compliance mechanisms and the nitty-gritty associated with them in the legal sphere.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Long Articles (6000 to 10000 words) – A long article must be a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the problem(s) or idea(s) dealt with by the author and should include references to a range of sources and contributions in the form of alternatives and suggestions. The word limit is exclusive of footnotes.
  • Short Articles (2000 to 6000 words) – A short article must be an analysis of the problem(s) or idea(s) dealt with by the author and should include references to a range of sources and contributions in the form of alternatives and suggestions. The word limit is exclusive of footnotes.
  • Case Comment (1200 to 4000 words) – The comment must be a critical analysis of a recent judgment, bringing out its relevance in light of the development of laws, views expressed in the judgment, and views of the author. The word limit is exclusive of footnotes.
  • Book Review (1000 to 3000 words) – The review must be a crisp account of a recently published book including the issues explored and the related arguments of the author. The word limit is exclusive of footnotes.
  • Legislative Comment (1000 to 3000 words) – The comment must analyze a recent legislative enactment. It must examine the objective of the legislation and the legal impact the same is expected to have. The word limit is exclusive of footnotes.
  • Eligibility – Authors must be Students enrolled in 5-year or 3-year law courses, Legal Professionals, Teachers, Researchers, Policy-Makers, Senior Academicians, or any member of the legal fraternity.
  • Participation Guidelines –Co-authorship of entries (maximum 2) among individuals from the same or different institutions is allowed. Multiple entries from the same authors are not allowed. Entries should be original, unpublished, and non-plagiarised.
  • Authors are requested to adhere to the following submission guidelines:
    1. Individual Attachments: Name; e-mail; contact number; current academic status (year of study, name of the university, etc.); undertaking as to guarantee of originality.
    2. Formatting specifications
      1. Font and size for the Essay: Times New Roman | 12
      2. Font and size for Footnotes: Times New Roman | 10
      3. Line spacing: 1.5
      4. Page size: A4
      5. Margin – 1′ from all sides
      6. Alignment: Justified
    3. Citation Style: Footnotes must be properly cited strictly in accordance with the latest 21st Bluebook format. No endnotes or speaking footnotes (descriptive footnotes) are permitted.
  • Interested authors must submit an abstract of not more than 200-250 words accompanied by at least 5 keywords. The general submission guidelines shall also govern the abstract submission.
  • Authors may submit manuscripts in accordance with the above laid down guidelines by way of e-mail at journalclcr@mnlumumbai.edu.in. We accept submissions on a deadline basis.
  • Submissions made by way of E-mail must mention in the subject field – “Manuscript Submission [ARTICLE/ NOTE/ BOOK REVIEW]” and should be addressed to The Editorial Board, CLCR.
  • CLCR adheres to the Open Access Policy. This means that all articles published in the Journal would be made available on the Journal’s website without any time limit and free of charge.
  • The submission must be an original unpublished work. Submissions should not be simultaneously considered by any other publication.
  • Submissions are accepted for publication on the condition that they do not infringe upon the rights of any third party. All submissions will be run through anti-plagiarism software and plagiarism in any form will result in instant rejection of the submission.
  • After review, manuscripts may be returned to authors suggesting changes to content, style, or structure. Acceptance of the piece for publication may be made contingent upon incorporating the suggestions.
  • Withdrawal of the manuscript must be notified to the team through mail. No withdrawals will be allowed after the author has responded with an acceptance to the confirmation mail by the team. 
  • All content must be submitted in English. That said, once approved for publication, we are happy to post a translated copy(ies), provided that the translation is done either by the author(s) herself/himself or through a trusted third party of the author’s own accord. Please note that any translated version(s) will be posted alongside, rather than in lieu of, the English version. We strongly encourage authors to avail of the opportunity to translate their text into the working language of the context of interest, so that the post can reach a wider audience.
  • The review process is a two-stage double-blind peer review.
  • The board would look into various factors like relevance to the theme of the blog, accuracy of facts, depth of analysis, coherence in arguments, and lastly, language and structure of the content.
  • Generally, the author(s) will be intimated about acceptance/rejection within 10 days of submission. However, the review process may take longer under exceptional circumstances.

ABOUT

International Law and Policy Society (ILPS) is a student-run, research society of NLUO. ILPS has been established to provide through research, working papers, publications, seminars, conferences, projects and engagement, a platform for intellectual dialogue on contemporary issues of international law and foreign policy. Emphasis of this society is on public international law, international affairs and foreign policies of different nations. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Submissions for the blog shall be reviewed on a rolling basis.
  • The submission should be an original work between 1000-1500 words. However, flexibility is allowed if the content so requires and the quality is maintained.
  • Original research: pieces based on recently concluded or ongoing research of contemporary relevance, preferably focused on primary material; Commentary: case comments, comments on new legislations and policy development
  •  The maximum Limit for Plagiarism will be 15%, submissions exceeding 15% similarity index will not be considered.
  • All relevant sources must be duly acknowledged and hyperlinked in the text

The Centre for Research and Studies in Human Rights (CRaSH), Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur, is an endeavour of the University to respond to the emerging regime of Human Rights. THEME

World is currently experiencing turmoil as ‘International Conflict’. Deviating from the original meaning of the term, increasingly, it also applies to inter-group conflicts within a country when one group is fighting for independence or increased social, political, or economic power such as noticed in Sudan/South Sudan, Iraq, and Syria. In recent decades, armed conflict has plighted the lives of millions of civilians. Serious violations of international humanitarian and human rights law are common in many armed conflicts. Some of these violations have been seen to constitute genocide, war crimes or crimes against humanity. 

The theme International Conflict and Human Rights is aimed at providing a platform to explore the causes, courses, and consequences of international conflict (including but not limited to war, revolution, political disputes, terrorism, and genocide).

SUBMISSION GUIDELINEES

  • Word Limit: The word-limit for the manuscripts is between 1000-1500 words.
  • Font: All submissions must be made in the font Times New Roman or Georgia with heading size 14, text size 12 and spacing 1.5.
  • Co-authorship: Up to a maximum of 2 authors is permitted.
  • Citation Format: · Bluebook 20th edition. 
  • Format: All the entries should be submitted in (.doc) or (.docx) format.
  • Originality: The entries must be original, unpublished, and an outcome of the author(s’) own efforts. The Blog follows a limited plagiarism policy and plagiarism beyond that limit will lead to disqualification for publication on the Blog.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Research papers: Between 5000 and 10000 words, including footnotes. Papers in this category are expected to engage with the theme comprehensively, examine literature thoroughly, and offer an innovative reassessment of the current understanding of that theme. It is advisable, though not necessary, to choose a theme that is of contemporary importance. Purely theoretical pieces are also welcomed.
  • Notes/Comments: Between 3000 and 5000 words, including footnotes. This section should include a thought-provoking and innovative piece consisting chiefly of personal opinions and analysis.
  • Judgment analysis/ Comments: In between 2500- 3000 words, including footnotes. This part should analyse contemporary Indian or International judicial pronouncements relevant to the themes. It must identify and examine the line of cases in which the decision in question came about and comment on implications for the evolution of that branch of law.
  • The research paper should apply research skills and appropriate research methodology. The research paper should be thematic, and identifying sub-themes is highly appreciated. It should have proper research questions and should also reflect the findings.
  • Submissions should be in Times New Roman font size 12 with 1.5 line spacing, justified text and 1-inch margins on all sides of an A4 sheet. (page number)
  • Footnotes should be in Times New Roman font size 10 with 1.0 line spacing. Endnotes are not allowed.
  • Graphics, Charts, Tables, and Diagrams should be numbered consecutively and included in the body of the work. Submission must be compatible with Microsoft Word
  • Headings should follow the following standard:
    • 1. LEVEL 1 HEADING: All Capitals & Bold;
    • 1.1. LEVEL 2 SUB-HEADING First Letter CAPITAL & BOLD;

  • The submission must be the original work of the authors. Any form of plagiarism will lead to disqualification.
  • Submitted entries must not have been sent for consideration elsewhere for presentation or publication.

ABOUT

Devoted to the study of comparative and international laws and legal systems, the Comparative Law e-Newsletter (CLN) is an open-access, peer-reviewed and refereed newsletter published bi-annually, with four Issues already released. It aims to encourage comparative legal studies in the transnational context of legal history, theory, philosophy, legal cultures, and traditions, by tracking the developments in the field across the world. The newsletter seeks works that are dynamic and interdisciplinary in nature with specific display of comprehensive knowledge on the subject matter.

They have already released four issues of the Comparative Law e-Newsletter covering the areas of Public Health Framework: Law and Society, Gender Inclusive Framework, Environmental Development and Labour and Modern Slavery: Framework on Social Security Laws through a comparative perspective.

THEME

Metaverse is a virtual world which transcends reality and has a very egocentric perspective of operation. This is a decentralized platform which together with AI is used to create an extended reality through machine vision. AI in Metaverse can be used for networking and blockchain. 

The role of Metaverse can be very extensive in nature where digital twins of natural persons can be used and smart cities can be formed as an interactive tool. These smart cities will be parallel to reality and can be used to socially interact with family and friends, from a manufacturing point of view it can be used as a digital interface between the manufacturer and consumers.

But it is also very important to tread carefully into the world of Metaverse as it still poses questions regarding the privacy of individuals and the application of common law in this decentralized environment. Hence, we have brought forth the theme: “Responsible AI for the decentralized environment of Metaverse”.

The Sharda Law Review is a Bi-annual Double Blind Peer-Reviewed Law Journal published by the Sharda School of Law – Sharda University, Greater Noida.

Any appropriate contemporary theme related to the socio-legal aspect is acceptable.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Submissions can be made under the following categories:

  • Long Articles (5000-8000 words): The article must be a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of a contemporary socio-legal issue and should include references to a range of sources and contributions in the form of alternatives and suggestions.
  • Short Articles (3000-4000 words): The article must be an analysis of a contemporary issue and should include a reference to a range of sources and contributions in the form of alternatives and suggestions.
  • Case Comments (1500-4000 words*): The comment must be an analysis of a recent judgment, bringing out its relevance in light of the development of laws, views expressed in the judgment, and the opinion(s) of the author.
  • Book Reviews (1000-3000 words*): The review must be a crisp account of a recently published book in the area of legal studies, including the issues explored and related arguments of the author.

*The word limit is exclusive of footnotes and abstracts. The prescribed word limit may be relaxed up to 10%, at the discretion of the Editorial Board.

  • Submissions are accepted only in the English language.
  • All articles/papers must be accompanied by abstract not exceeding 300-500 words. Case Comments and Book Reviews do not need to be accompanied by abstracts.
  • The abstract must expressly include the originality and usefulness of the idea that the author wishes to put forth and must categorically mention the specific contribution of the article beyond the existing available literature.
  • Co-authorship (with no cap on authors) is permitted for all articles.
  • The body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman, Font Size 12, and 1.5-line spacing.
  • There must be footnoting.
  • Content taken from online sources must be referred with the title/caption of the literature along with the name/s of authors following the ILI Bluebook style referencing of online-data base literature.
  • The first page should be of Abstract wherein below the title of the paper, author/s name should be mentioned along with their institutional affiliation.
  • At the end of the Abstract, there must be 4-5 Key Words.
  • Starting from the introduction to the conclusion & suggestions, each topic, and sub-topics must be properly indexed in roman without underling, Italics, formatting, etc..
  • Only the first letter of each word used for topic and sub-topics should be in Capital.
  • Except for the case name, no content should be in italics.
  • The citations must conform to the style of ILI Bluebook Citation rules here.
  • Manuscripts should only use footnotes as a means of citation. No other method of citation is permitted.
  • Substantive footnotes are permissible.
  • The submission should be accompanied by a Covering Letter, which must include the following details:
    • Name of Author(s)
    • Contact Details (Address)
    • Mobile No.:
    • Institutional Affiliations (if any)
    • Academic Qualifications

Note: If your paper would be considered for publication in SLR, you will be informed via email within 10 days from the date of receiving your paper.

JOURNAL’S MANDATE

Its mandate, amongst other things, includes company law, securities law, banking and finance, tax law, international investment law, international commercial arbitration, commercial dispute resolution, intellectual property law, contract law, and employment law.

  • Long Form Articles: Between 6,000 and 10,000 words. Submissions in this category are expected to engage with the topic, its theme, and available literature comprehensively so as to offer a novel and original reassessment.
  • Essays: Between 4,000 and 6,000 words. Submissions in this category are comparatively more concise and limited in their scope. Essays usually deal with a very specific topic as compared to Long Form Articles.
  • Case/Legislative Comments: Between 1,500 to 3,000 words. Submissions in this category are expected critically analyze a recent court decision or legislative/policy proposal, either in India or abroad, and comment on its implications.
  • Book Reviews: Between 2,000 to 3,000 words. Submissions in this category are expected to critically analyze and engage with a recent academic book that falls under our mandate.
  • Submissions must be accompanied with an abstract of not more than 250 words.
  • Submitted manuscripts must not contain any biographical information regarding the authors, such as names, institutional affiliations, acknowledgments, etc. This information can be added at a later stage if the manuscript is accepted for publication.

ABOUT

The legal field has reached a phase where interweaving emerging technologies with the law is not just pertinent rather it has become inevitable. Specifically post the unprecedented pandemic, the use of technology in the legal sphere has become even more relevant than before. Moreover, the ‘Global society’ better known as ‘Globalization’ stirred with ‘Technology’ has brought remarkable transformations in the economy, politics, and society. This has brought better and advanced opportunities to mutate the legal arena.

Emerging technologies such as Educational Technologies, Electric Vehicles (EV), Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Non-Fungible tokens (NFT), etc., are redefining the mode of transportation, remote learning, investment, and human health. These technologies have an irrefutable influence on the global level, both constructive and cynical. For instance, Artificial Intelligence which is used to perform arduous tasks in fractions of seconds through machine learning has also been misused by incorporating this revolutionary technology into hacking, deep-fakes, and weaponization programs.

  1. Length of full paper – Not more than 6,000 words (including footnotes)
  2. Font – Times New Roman
  3. Font Size – 12 (Line spacing 1.5 and alignment “justify” with 1″ margin on all sides)
  4. Foot Notes – Please ensure that the footnotes are formatted correctly and consistently, in accordance with 20th Blue Book Edition with Times New Roman font size 10
  5. Pages to be numbered – Bottom of the page, at the center – numbered as 1, 2, 3, etc.
  6. Style for headings – Chapter Title: All in caps, bold, centered.
  7. Style for subheadings:
    • Level 1: Headline style – capital, bold, left aligned, underlined.
    • Level 2: Headline style – bold, italics, left aligned.
    • Level 3: Headline style – italics, left aligned.
  8. The paper must be submitted in word document (.doc or .docx) format only.
  9. Research paper must highlight specific research problem/Issue and appropriate research methodology.
  10. Every research paper must contain the Abstract of 350 to 400 words.
  11. Authors are requested to provide their brief profile with E-mail ID, contact number and affiliation at the end of the paper.
  12. All submissions must be the author’s original and unpublished work. Similarity Index should not exceed 15%.
  13. In case of co-authorship at least one author must attend the seminar to present the paper.
  14. Link for submission of full paper will be sent after August 20, 2022 after approval of abstract.

ABOUT

Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad (MNLU Aurangabad, MNLUA) is a National Law University in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. It was established in 2017 by the Government of Maharashtra, the third and final university to be installed through the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014 following Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai and Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur, the 21st National Law University in India. The National Seminar is organized by the Centre for Human Rights and Subaltern Studies, National University of Study and Research in Law Ranchi in collaboration with the National Commission for Women, New Delhi, at the NUSRL, Ranchi campus on November 10, 2022.

ABOUT

The National Commission for Women (NCW) is the statutory body of the Government of India, generally concerned with advising the government on all policy matters affecting women. It was established on January 31, 1992 under the provisions of the Indian Constitution, as defined in the 1990 National Commission for Women Act.

The objective of the NCW is to represent the rights of women in India and to provide a voice for their issues and concerns. The subjects of their campaigns have included dowry, politics, religion, equal representation for women in jobs, and the exploitation of women for labour. They have also discussed police abuses against women.

THEME

National Seminar is being held on the theme “Women in Paramilitary Forces – Achieving Gender Equality Through Gender Sensitization.”

Considering the novelty of the theme and with the objective of encouraging multi-dimensional research on the issue, the sub-themes are not categorically specified. The participants can analyse the issue from multiple perspectives but at the same time are required to ensure its relevance with the theme.

SUBMISIION GUIDELINES

  • The First Page of the submission must be a Cover Page which should contain the following particulars –
    • Title of the Paper
    • Author’s Name
    • University/Organization’s Name
    • Present Address
    • Email Address and Mobile Number
  • In the case of Co-Authorship, the same details of the other author must also be stated on the Cover Page. Co-authorship is allowed subject to a limit of two authors per submission.
  • On the second page, there should be a Declaration, about the originality of the submission.
  • The third page should contain an Abstract of around 250-300 words with Keywords at the end.
  • Apart from other necessary Chapters, the Participants should try to include the following chapters in their submission- Introduction, Review of Literature, Recommendations and Conclusion.
  • The submission should be about 3500-5000 words.
  • It must be submitted in a ‘Word/.docx file, PDF files are not allowed.
  • The Text should be in Times New Roman, Font Size – 12 & Spacing – 1.5. The Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, Font Size – 10 with Single Spacing. One Inch Margin on all sides should be maintained.
  • All submissions must follow the Blue Book (20th Edn.) Uniform Citation style of referencing.
  • No part of the Paper should have been published earlier nor should it be under consideration for publication.
  • UGC guidelines for Plagiarism will be followed.
  • Every Participant is required to duly fill out the google form given at the end of this post to register.
  • The Final Paper must be submitted in the ‘Word/.docx’ file. PDF files are not allowed. The name of the file should be ‘Name of the Author & Co-author (if any) – Title of the paper.
  • All Manuscripts should be submitted here.
