About the Law Journal

GLS Law Journal (GLSLJ) is a bi-annual academic open access law journal. GLSLJ is accepting original and unpublished Research Papers on contemporary legal and social issues for the winter issue. GLSLJ believes in providing a platform for the scholarly to contribute towards the analysis of various legal issues and share their viewpoint with the legal fraternity.

GLSLJ aims to make an effort in identifying the contemporary debatable topics through the writings of experts in the varied fields of law. It is the endeavour of the Journal to encourage the synthesis of knowledge and best practices across academia and the research fraternity. Research is placed at a very high stature in the legal field which enhances the understanding level of many and then rolls on the debate that can contribute profoundly by adding to the secondary source of materials for the legal research to follow.

Submission Guidelines

GLS Law Journal (GLJ) Publishes; Research articles focus on legal issues currently being debated. GLJ provides a forum for the scholarly analysis of inter-professional collaboration and interdisciplinary academic research on the law.

  • Original research manuscripts:  Original, outstanding and argumentative contribution to legal study. (5000-6000 words)
  • Law Reviews: based on a systematic literature review. (4000-3000 words)
  • Case Comment:  commentary on any important landmark judgment. (3000-2500 words)
  • Book Review: Academic and literary review of any significant book published related to legal filed. (2500-2000 words)
  • Invite Editorial: The editors can invite experts to submit an invited article on a featured subject, The Chief Editor decide upon authors and subjects

Style Guideline

Manuscript format: Manuscript must be in electronic form, all submissions must be word-processed, single-spaced in Times New Roman and the margin parameters of the GLJ are 4.9 cm (top and bottom margins) and 4.5 cm (left and right margins)

  • Main heading in times new Roman with bold face
  • Body text in Times New Roman format with 12 pt.
  • Footnotes in Times New Roman format with 9 pt.
  • Alignment is justified full
  • Line spacing for body text 1.2 pt.
  • Line spacing for footnotes 1pt.

Style Guidelines

  • Form of Submission: Submissions must be in electronic form. All submissions must be word-processed, single-spaced in Garamond, font size 12 and justified. The prescribed word limits are inclusive of footnotes. However, we do not emphasize on strict compliance with the word count.
  • Abstract: All sumissions must contain an abstract of not more than 250 words describing the relevant conclusions drawn in the paper. There is no requirement of prior submission of the abstract.
  • Citations:Only footnotes may be used as the form of citations. End notes shall not be accepted. All footnotes must be in Garamond, size 10, single-spacing and justified. The citations are derived from the blue book 20 Citation Style.

About the Journal

The Journal, being the flagship law review of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, is a multidisciplinary, double-blind, student-edited law review.

Call for Papers

The Editorial Board of the NUALS Law Journal (ISSN Number 2319-8273) is inviting submissions for its 16th Edition.

Submissions, on any topic of law of contemporary relevance, are welcome from academicians, legal practitioners, students and researchers from the legal community. All submissions will go through a rigorous review process and possible editing by the Editorial Board.

Submissions under the following categories are accepted:

  • Articles of length 5000 to 10000 words (exclusive of footnotes; however speaking footnotes must be limited to 50 words); articles exceeding the word limit may be considered on merit.
  • Short Notes (between 1500 and 5000 words)
  • Case Comments (minimum of 1500 words)

Longer submissions may be considered on the basis of merit.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Submissions are to be made only in electronic form and must be made via a Google form which can be accessed here.
  2. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis; the 16th Edition will consist of one issue. The cut-off date for consideration for the issue will be the 14th of March 2022. All submissions received after the 14th of March will be considered for the 17th Edition.
  3. All submissions are to contain an abstract, of not more than 250 words, accompanying the article. Please refrain from sending abstracts in a separate word doc.
  4. By submitting an article, the author undertakes that the article is an original work and has not been submitted, accepted or published elsewhere.
  5. Plagiarism will result in summary rejection of the submission.
  6. Co-authorship is allowed for a maximum of two authors.

Formatting Guidelines

  1. All submissions must follow the Bluebook (20th Edition) style of citation; non-conformity will be a ground for rejection.
  2. Submissions must be in Times New Roman font, with size 12 and line spacing 1.5.
  3. All footnotes must be in Times New Roman font, with size 10 and line spacing 1.
  4. Submissions must be made in .doc/.docx formats only.
  5. The documents must not contain any identification markers. For e.g., the name of the author after the title, or any other metadata on Word.

Post-Submission Process

Receipt of submission will be intimated to the authors within two weeks of submission. Authors will be periodically updated on the status of review of their piece.

Theme

The submission should deal with a relevant or topical issue concerning any contemporary legal developments in ADR, including but not limited to recent judicial/legislative changes, at both national as well as international level and must provide the author’s take on the issue, explaining the legal background succinctly and clearly.

Submission Guidelines

  1. All submissions have to be in English.
  2. The abstract should not be of more than 250 words. It shall contain- a brief profile of the author including e-mail ID, contact number and official address.
  3. Word limit for full Research Paper- 4000-5000 words (inclusive of all Citation and references).
  4. Submissions must be typed in Times New Roman, Font Size 12 on A4 size paper with 1” margin on all sides with 1.5 line spacing.
  5. There can be maximum of only one Co-author. All the co-authors need to get registered for the seminar.
  6. Potential contributors are required to adhere to a uniform mode of citation (20th edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation or ILI Citation is recommended).
  7. The authors should also need to submit a declaration along with the abstract & final paper that their work is original and unpublished and that it does not infringe the copyright of anyone. The organizing committee is not responsible for any copyright infringements by the authors.

About NLSIU

NLSIU was the first National Law University established in India in 1986. The premier law school was set up with a mission to pioneer legal education reforms, and to anchor the transformation of the Indian legal system through research and policy interventions. About the Socio-Legal Review

The Socio-Legal Review (SLR) is a student-run, peer-reviewed journal published by the National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU). SLR began with the support of the Modern Law Review, London in 2005 and has, over the past few years, carried articles by luminaries in the legal and social field such as Rajeev Dhavan, Roger Cotterrell, W.T. Murphy and Asghar Ali Engineer.

The Socio-Legal Review Forum (SLR Forum) was conceptualised as a platform for informed debate on contemporary developments. The Forum acts as an online companion to our print journal. It accepts short pieces in the form of comments on recent legal developments or book reviews engaging with recent literature. Longer pieces in the form of essays or responses to pieces published in the journal are also accepted.

Submission Rules

SLR is currently looking for articles for Volume 18(2), as well as for the SLR Forum. We have a broad mandate and look at any articles with a perceivable link between law and society, particularly in a South Asian context. SLR invites contributions in the following categories –

  • Long Articles: Between 6,000 – 8,000 words.
  • Short Articles: Between 3,500 – 5,000 words.
  • Book Reviews: Between 2,000 – 3,000 words.
  • Case Notes/Legislative Comments: Between 1,500 – 2,500 words.
  • Notes from the Field – Notes from the Field are pieces designed to provide a glimpse into a new legal strategy, political initiative or advocacy technique applied in the field, a current problem or obstacle faced in legal reform or development work, or a new issue that has not yet received much attention and needs to be brought to light. For contributions in this category, empirical studies are encouraged.

All manuscripts must be submitted in a .doc or .docx format. The manuscripts must necessarily be accompanied by the author’s biographical information in a separate title page and an abstract of not more than 250 words. For formatting and citation guidelines, please refer to SLR’s style guide.

The last date for submission of manuscripts for Volume 18(2) is March 15, 2022.

About the 7th NLIU-Trilegal Summit on Corporate and Commercial Laws

The Centre for Business and Commercial Law (CBCL) in collaboration with Trilegal is organizing the 7th NLIU-Trilegal Summit on Corporate and Commercial Laws, 2021 virtually on 19th February 2022.

Submission Categories

  • Articles: Manuscripts for this summit under this category should be 4000-6000 words long, dealing with an issue in-depth and demonstrating a comparatively higher level of analysis. Co-authorship of papers (maximum two) among individuals from the same or different institutions is allowed.
  • Essays: Manuscripts under this category should be 2000-3000 words and either cover a recent development or be issue-specific. Co-authorship is not allowed.

Kindly note that the word limit is exclusive of footnotes. Strict adherence to the word limit is prescribed.

Prerequisites

Submission is expected to be of high academic quality and must comply with the prescribed substance, formatting, and citation standards. Furthermore, submissions will be accepted only if:

  • The title succinctly encapsulates the topic and explains the body of work;
  • The abstract briefly describes the idea behind the submission in not more than 200 words, its structure, and the authors’ conclusion(s);
  • The issue(s) are clearly identified and adequately described; and
  • The submission is coherently presented.

A submission will not be accepted if it has been plagiarized.

The IMS Unison University is organizing the International Dispute Resolution Conference 2022 (“Conference”) to be held on July 29-30, 2022, at IMS Unison University, Dehradun. The 2-day International Conference by IMS Unison University on the theme ‘Transforming International Dispute Resolution Mechanisms During a Paradigm Shift in Geopolitics‘ is jointly organized by the School of Law IMS Unison University, India and Kathmandu University, Nepal.

On 20 December 2018, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation (“Mediation Convention”). It opens enormous business opportunities for enterprises and dispute resolution professionals. The term ‘paradigm shift in geopolitics’ in the theme of the conference aims to foster discussion on emerging trends in dispute resolution and the impact of the Mediation Convention on the international business environment.

During these days, scholars, lawyers, and ADR practitioners will share views and experiences as to how their unique perspectives on mediation, negotiation, arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution mechanisms have the capacity to shape and transform conflict across the globe.

Submission Guidelines

Abstract

  • The abstract must be developed on A4-sheet in Word Document Format typed in Times New Roman in 12 font size with 1.5 line spacing in not more than 500 words, it should not contain more than FIVE keywords.
  • The abstract should contain personal details of the author(s) in the order: Title of the paper, Name, Designation, Institute/ University/ College/Organization, Contact number, E-mail and address (es), of the author(s).
  • Kindly indicate the name of the main author for correspondence in the case of more than one author. All abstracts will be peer-reviewed and evaluated on the basis of originality, research rigour, relevance to the seminar, and contribution to the theory and practice.

Submissions

  • Submissions for the International Conference by IMS Unison University are to be made only in electronic form. The same may be e-mailed to iuuconferencelaw22@iuu.ac in MS Word format along with a covering letter addressed to Organizing Secretary.
  • Title Must be written in bold, size 14 and centred margin. Margin Manuscripts must be in single spacing, font size 12 in Times New Roman and all margins: 1.5 inches (left) and 1 inch (top, right and bottom).
  • Tables- Tables must be placed as part of the text. DO NOT attach tables at the end of the manuscript. Soft Manuscript must be submitted in Microsoft Word 2007 in the above format ONLY.
  • Sub-Title Written in bold, size 12 and left margin.
  • Tables/Figures Title of the tables/figure should be written on the top of the tables/figure. Times New Roman, font 12, Bold and centered margin.
  • Footnoting should be done strictly according to Bluebook 20th Edition, Times New Roman, Size 10, Line -Spacing 1
  • Word Limit Articles should be generally of 4000-4500 words (excluding references and footnotes).

  • No abstract or full paper shall be accepted after the last date of submission. ¨
  • Registration is mandatory on confirmation of acceptance of abstract, with the payment of required fees to be deposited in the bank account.
  • Only registered participants will be allowed to take part in National Seminar.
  • No refund will be allowed once a participant/paper presenter is registered. All the registered participants will be provided participation certificate. The Best Paper of each session will be acknowledged and awarded.
  • In the event of the seminar being conducted in the offline mode, the participants will be responsible for the arrangement of their personal accommodation.
  • Breakfast and lunch for the participants will be provided by the university. Only one co-author is allowed.
  • No in-absentia presentations will be allowed, at least one author must be present for the presentation.

Registration Fee

Due to the current uncertainty of the COVID-19 situation, the mode of the international conference has not yet been finalized. If the circumstances permit the conduction of the seminar in offline mode, it will be conducted on the university campus. If unfavourable situations persist then the conference will be conducted online.

The following are the registration fee for online and offline mode of International Conference. Considering the COVID19 situation at the time, the University will duly inform the participants regarding the preferred mode of conduction of the Seminar.

Call for Papers

Contributions may be in the form of articles, essays, notes, commentaries and reviews. Submissions will be put through an exhaustive review process and only manuscript of sufficient quality that meets the aims and scope of IPR will be published. There are no fees payable to submit or publish in this journal.

Word count is exclusive of footnotes. Longer submissions will be considered at the discretion of the editorial board. The articles should be typed in Times New Roman 12pt and 1.5 –line spacing.

Guidelines for Submission

  • All submissions are to be made in electronic form and must be sent to tndalu.iplr2022@gmail.com.
  • Submissions must be received on or before 15th March 2022.
  • All submissions must include an abstract not exceeding 300 words and five or six keywords.
  • Submissions must be accompanied by a brief note including the following information:
    • Name
    • Postal Address
    • Name of Institution
    • Course of Study (if applicable)
    • Academic Year
  • In submission of work, the author undertakes that the work is original and has not been submitted, accepted or published elsewhere.
  • All submissions will be subject to a plagiarism check at the first stage of evaluation. If work is found to be unoriginal or plagiarised (including self-plagiarism), it will be rejected at the first instance. The Journal also reserves the right to revoke the acceptance upon a finding of plagiarism at any stage of the submission or editing process.
  • Co-authorship is allowed for a maximum of two authors.
  • Authors will be intimated of receipt of submission within one week from date of submission.

Formatting Guidelines

  • The submission must be made in .doc/.docx/.odt format only. PDFs of submissions will not be accepted.
  • The body of the manuscript must be according to the following specifications:
    • Times New Roman font
    • Font size 12
    • Line spacing 1.5
  • Submissions must follow the Bluebook (20th edition) style of citation. Footnotes must be in Times New Roman, font size 10 with single line spacing.

About the Journal

The Journal of Law and Ethics received great response from the legal fraternity in its first edition. The Journal, for its second edition of 2022 , now invites submissions from students, academicians, doctoral students, and research scholars.

Guidelines

  • All submissions must be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 300 words. Up to 4 keywords must also be provided.
  • Submissions on any contemporary legal issues will be accepted.
  • The contributions submitted for publication in the journal must neither have been previously published nor currently, be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • Co-authorship is allowed up to a maximum of 2 authors.
  • The manuscript first page only must contain the name of the author(s) or his/her institutional affiliation or any other information, professional information, contact details, and any other relevant information.

  • Article: 1500-3000 words (excluding footnotes)

Formatting and Citation Style

  • Submissions must be made in Microsoft Office (doc./docx.) formats only.
  • The submission must be the original work of the authors and should be free from all grammatical and spelling errors.
  • The manuscript body must be in the font ‘Times New Roman,’ font-size 12, line spacing 1.5, and the text should be justified.
  • All footnotes must be in Font ‘Times New Roman’, font size 10, line spacing 1, and justified.
  • All submissions must follow the Bluebook (19th Edition)’.
  • Non-conformity will be a ground for rejection.
