About DCPCR

The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) has been constituted under the Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) Act, 2005. It is the statutory watchdog of the Government of Delhi on matters of child rights.

About the Opportunity

The Commission offers internships across divisions and themes to youngsters. Interns typically support the Commission in background research, field visits, data analytics, preparing policy briefs/summaries, drafting letters/notices/summons, preparing minutes of the meetings, and documentation-related support including social media amongst others. Full-time interns are provided with a modest stipend in addition to official travel-related reimbursements.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Intern

  • Conduct background research on different issues involving children such as violence and abuse, child labour, education, health & nutrition, etc.
  • Conduct field visits to anganwadis, schools, children homes to collect facts and prepare background reports. They also assist inspection teams.
  • Prepare background policy briefs on different issues related to children
  • Handle social media for the Commission in a manner prescribed
  • Assist in the project management and their logistics including but not limited to different interventions, rescue operations, on-site awareness activities, training programmes etc.
  • Draft notices/summons/legal briefs as may be assigned
  • Engage in teaching, learning and extra-curricular activities, if assigned to work in children homes
  • Assist the Commission in resolving different grievances raised by citizens.
  • Any other task that the Commission deems appropriate.

Selection Process

  • The Selection Process consists of marks obtained in order of merit in CLAT 2022 examination score, followed by Group Discussion/Personal Interview.

    • Candidates declared qualified in CLAT 2022 examination shall only be eligible to be considered for the next stage of selection subject to meeting the eligibility criteria stated above.
    • Qualifying Marks in CLAT 2022 shall be as per the standards prescribed by conducting authority of Consortium of NLU’s respectively.
    • Qualified candidates shall be short-listed category-wise for Group Discussion/ Personal Interview CLAT 2022 and as per the criteria decided by THDCIL Management.
    • Candidates must qualify in the Group Discussion/Personal Interview in order to be considered for empanelment. For calculation of final score of a candidate for empanelment, the weightage of marks obtained in CLAT 2022 examination and Personal Interview/ Group Discussion.

Compensation Package

About the Project

In the seven decades since its independence, India has faced and countered extremism emanating from several quarters – left wing communist insurgencies; strategic terrorism emerging from neighbouring countries; right wing religious extremism; and, violent separatist movements.

In the face of such opposition, the response of our nation-state has been strong handed and resilient; thoroughly ensuring that our constitutional and social fabric remains intact. The problem of radicalization however, doesn’t end here and threats from various quarters remain ever present.

There is an emerging global discourse, which seeks to answer the question of “why does an individual get radicalized” and a corollary question of – “how can the same be prevented.” Any endeavours to answer these questions in the Indian context, requires a systematic and in-depth examination of the past and present political, socio-economic, socio-legal and psycho-social realities.

It is this examination that the proposed study seeks to undertake. The Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is the funding agency for this project. The study aims at understanding the processes of radicalization, de-radicalization and related measures, with the help of empirical evidence.

About the Centre

The Centre for Criminology, Criminal Justice and Victimology (CCV) has been established at RGNUL with the aim to contribute towards the fundamental and applied research and action in the field of Criminology, Criminal Law, Criminal Justice, Victim Justice, and Victimology. The Project is being executed by the Centre.

About the Position

They are looking to engage 2 (two) part-time Field Investigators for this project, who have skills and experience of working on challenging issues and are also ready to carry out extensive field work in this regard.

Remuneration

  • Remuneration shall be proportionate to the qualification and experience of the candidate.
  • Travel expenditure incurred for fieldwork shall be paid additionally on actual basis.

Duration of Assignment
