About the Responsibilities  

As interns at India Labourline, you will work on issues that affect Indian workers in the unorganised sector.It will assist you in gaining a thorough grasp of the many parties involved in securing the application and defence of some of the most vulnerable classes of Indian citizens’ basic and labour rights. The Jindal Global Law School’s Center for Justice, Law, and Society (CJLS) is an interdisciplinary research centre that critically examines current issues at the nexus of law, justice, society, and marginalisation in South Asia. Using empirical research to reevaluate procedures and policies in the criminal justice system, they are engaged in offering pro bono legal help to convicts serving death sentences around the nation.The goal of Project 39A is to start fresh discussions about issues such as the death penalty, forensic science, legal aid, and the use of torture.

About the Responsibilities

Applications are being accepted for Project 39A by NLU Delhi’s paid, remote internship programme, which will be taking interns on a rolling basis from March 2022 to March 2023. The internship programme being developed by Project 39A will give students valuable experience to the complexity and nuances of India’s criminal justice system.

Research: Fieldwork and empirical analysis are heavily weighted in our research activities. The following challenges are addressed in various ways through efforts:

legal assistance in the criminal justice system and forensic science, with a focus on DNA forensics, criminal justice and mental health, torture execution of death sentences

Litigation: To guarantee capable, no-fee legal representation for inmates receiving death sentences in different parts of India, regardless of the offence;

As an intern you are required to:-

Under the capable guidance of its then Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Ajit Prakash Shah, the High Court established the Delhi International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), formerly known as the Delhi High Court Arbitration Centre. The then-Chief Justice of India, Mr. Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, officially opened DIAC on November 25, 2009. The first Arbitration Center with a High Court annex is DIAC.It is a structure designed to make arbitration more accessible to litigating parties and to encourage them to use it as their preferred method of dispute resolution. The cost- and time-efficient arbitration process used by DIAC to settle disputes is effective. To ensure an impartial, open, and expert institution, the High Court of Delhi formed it.

About the Responsibilities

For its internship programme, DIAC is now accepting applications. It will offer first-hand knowledge of how a top arbitral institution operates in terms of its role and duties.

On the management of cases under the DIAC Rules, you will collaborate with a vibrant, diverse, and experienced team of arbitration lawyers at DIAC.
