About the Moot Competition
ICFAI Law School, ICFAI University, Tripura is organizing the N.J.Y. National Moot Court Competition 2021 (NJYMCC), scheduled to be conducted (online mode) on 22nd & 23rd December 2021. The Moot Proposition of our Competition is based on the Economical Weaker Section and its related aspects.
Eligibility
All students enrolled in 3-year LLB programme or 5-year integrated B.A./B.B.A.LLB/B. Com LL.B. programme shall be eligible to participate in the N.J.Y National Moot Court Competition, 2021.
Language
The official language of the competition shall be English. All competition rounds, memorials, and compendiums must be in English.
Team Composition
The team composition shall be as follows: 2 Speakers & 1 Researcher. The teams may not be permitted to participate without a Researcher.
Team Code
Team codes will be provided to each team through electronic mail on 20th December 2021.
The Department of Laws, Panjab University was originally established at Lahore in 1889, re-established at Shimla in 1948, and finally re-located at the University Campus at Chandigarh in 1959.
Its Alumni include Judges of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and High Courts, Union Cabinet Ministers, State Chief Ministers, Cabinet Ministers and other legal luminaries. The stature of the Department of Laws is as big as its strength and has a great legacy in terms of its research and academic work related to national and international relevance.
About the Moot
The present moot court competition shall be conducted with the objective to provide learning opportunities to the students. The Department believes in imparting value-added education and thus present event shall help students in enhancing their research skills, writing and advocacy. The present moot problem is based on Constitutional Law, Parliamentary Privileges and their exercise by the members of Parliament.
Eligibility Criteria
Students enrolled in a full-time Law Degree Programme i.e. 5-year Integrated Law Degree Programme or 3-year LL. B Programme at the time of the competition are eligible to participate in the Competition.
Registration Procedure
The participants as a team are requested to register online from November 10, 2021 till November 25, 2021 through this link- https://forms.gle/u39Vz8fEt869w98EA
After this initial registration, team codes shall be allotted and communicated on mail provided in the Form by the participants.
Registration Fees: Rs. 500/-
This amount shall be paid later online and a copy of receipt must be sent to mail i.e. departmentoflawspu@gmail.com
Only after payment of registration fees along with memorial submission, participation of teams shall be confirmed and the same shall be communicated to the given mail in the registration form.

Clarifications to the Moot Proposition shall be sought by sending e-mail to departmentoflawspu@gmail.com by November 25, 2021. Clarification requests sent after this date shall not be entertained. A full list of clarifications shall be released by November 28, 2021.

The teams for registration are required to send a scanned copy of the Registration Form (PDF Format Only) duly signed and sealed by the Head of the Institution or Department along with the scanned copy of Demand Draft or Cheque drawn in favor of “Gautam Buddha University” latest by 5th January 2022 on mootcourtsocietygbu@gmail.com
The teams are required to send the hard copies of the registration form along with payment by way of Any Online mode via post or by hand to the Administrators latest by 10th January 2022 on the following correspondence:

The receipt of hard copies of the Registration Form along with the payment to the aforementioned address only shall confirm the participation of a team in the competition. An acknowledgment of the receipt of required documents shall be mailed to the respective Team Members and concerned Faculty along with Team Code Number.
Communication with any one of the Team Members shall be deemed to be communication to the entire team for the purposes of this Competition. The administrators shall not be responsible for any error or discrepancies in the details and the Registration Form, in which case the details given in the latter shall prevail.
Accommodation
The accommodation & food will be provided by the university for 2 days inclusive of breakfast, lunch & dinner.
In case, the event is organised online, your accommodation fees will be refunded to your respective bank accounts.
In case of any internet connectivity issue or technical glitch from the side of the participants amounting to their unavailability at the given point of time or amounting to exceeding the time allocated for the said oral round the discretion of the panel judging the round will prevail'(ONLINE MODE)
Clarifications to the competition problem
Teams may request clarifications in the Competition Problem via e-mail with the subject “Clarifications- GBU Moot” to mootcourtsocietygbu@gmail.com, latest by 10th January 2022 after which no clarifications shall be entertained.
No clarifications relating to the Competition Problem shall be entertained after the aforementioned date.
