About Delhi International Arbitration Center

Delhi International Arbitration Center has the distinction of being the first ever High Court-annexed Institutional Arbitration Centre; DIAC has made a significant contribution to the growth of Arbitration by acting as an effective catalyst to the dispute resolution mechanism. About GNLU International Research Colloquium

GNLU International Research Colloquium (GIRC) is an annual event organized by the Research and Development Cell, GNLU which it aims to bring together researchers from across the country, and the world, to deliberate and discuss matters of contemporary relevance through an interdisciplinary perspective. The Colloquium will commence in the month of July and will end in the month of June of the succeeding year. It will be conducted in three phases; each phase will be called a workshop. There will be eight sessions in each workshop, conducted by national and international experts on various dimensions of research methodology, publication, and the theme(s) of the Colloquium.

The participants shall be expected to develop a research article on the theme(s) of their choice during the one-year time period and the same shall be presented before the expert panel. Based on the review, selected papers shall be published in the form of a book or in a national/international journal of repute.

The workshop will end with an Annual Research Meet where academicians and research scholars will get an opportunity to present their work to experts and get their valuable input. Apart from this, the Meet would also bring together research scholars from diverse fields and disciplinary backgrounds to interact with each other and share the progress of their research.

About the Workshops

Workshop I (Two Days, Eight Sessions)
The first workshop spread over a period of two days and eight sessions, will give the participants an opportunity to present their ideas and proposals to experts from the research and publication industry along with experts specialising in the particular theme(s) of the Colloquium. The experts would also conduct sessions on diverse areas of research
writing and publication and on the main theme, and sub-themes, of the Colloquium.

Workshop II (Two Days, Eight Sessions)
The second workshop spread over a period of two days and eight sessions, will give the participants an opportunity to present to experts the progress they’ve made in the area that they chose to work on in workshop I. Experts from relevant theme(s) would go through the work of the participants and provide them with feedback and suggestions, if any. Apart from this, expert sessions would be conducted on advanced research techniques like Bibliometric Analysis and Systematic Literature Review (SLR).

Workshop III (Three Days)
The third and final workshop would conclude the year-long event with the final presentation of the Research Paper or Manuscript written by the participants.

Eligibility

  • Researchers and Scholars registered for M.Phil. /Ph.D./PDF in Law, Social Sciences or Interdisciplinary Research is eligible for participation in the Colloquium.
  • For international participants, the Colloquium may be in hybrid mode.

Selection Process

The Colloquium invites a proposal of 500-1000 words from the applicants along with the duly filled application form. The selection shall be based completely on the basis of the proposal. The proposal should be a detailed summary of the work that s states the problem, the objectives, and the methodology to be used.

It should be single-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman font. Co-authorship is not allowed.

About University

Dr.Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, was established by an Act of Govt. of Uttar Pradesh in 2005, U.P. Act No.28 of 2005 and came into being on the 4th of January 2006 to meet up the new challenges in the legal field and to strengthen the vision that was given by the establishment of first National Law School of the country. Originally incorporated as ‘Dr.Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law Institute, Uttar Pradesh’ word ‘Institute’ was substituted by the
‘University’ later, vide an amendment in the Act in November 2006. This was done to give a comprehensive national character to the Institute on lines with the other premier National Law Universities of the Country.

About Conference

There are many aspects of the property which have been regulated with specific legislation, e.g., the Transfer of Property Act, Rent Control Legislations of respective states etc. Real Estate specifically, was dealt with for the first time in the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, of 2016. The conference is being conducted with the following objectives:

  1. To create awareness about the Real Estate Laws among society at large.
  2. To unravel the issues and challenges faced by stakeholders, i.e., consumers, investors, developers, and authorities.
  3. To assess the impact of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 and other allied laws.
  4. To analyze the compliance of Real Estate laws in the Lucknow district.
  5. To extrapolate the working legal ecosystem to protect the interest of consumers and investors.
  6. To analyze the steps taken to address the issues of consumers and investors.

Call for Papers

Academicians, lawyers, scholars and members of civil society are hereby invited to contribute papers for the National Conference. The contributions may be forwarded in both soft and hard copies according to the schedule provided hereunder. Language is no bar; papers can be presented in Hindi as well as English. However, prior registration would be necessary so as to ensure the proper arrangement of the Conference as a whole. The prospective participants are also expected to forward their itinerary well in advance. No TA/DA shall be provided by the University and therefore the participants should obtain the same from their respective institutions.

About the Animal Law Center

Accredited with A++ Grade with a score of 3.60 on a 4-point scale by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), this premier institution of higher learning has steadfastly been recognized as of the top three law schools in India. The Animal Law Centre (ALC) at NALSAR is the country’s first and so far, the only centre dedicated to research on animal laws. In the past, they have successfully run a one-year PG Diploma in Animal Protection Laws. They also organized a national teacher’s training program on Animal Laws, chaired by Prof. David Favre and a series of guest talks in the school, the latest by Prof. Kristen Stilt. They have organized more than 10 judges and advocate training programs all over India. The centre also runs a clinic in collaboration with the Buchmann School of Law, Tel Aviv University. Currently, they are working on a four-part funded farm animals project titled, “The True Cost of Eggs” and a project which involves publishing a country report on zoonotic diseases in collaboration with the Animal Law & Policy Program, at Harvard Law School. The Centre has signed an MOU with the International Center for Animal Law and Policy (ICALP), University of Barcelona Spain & Animal Law and Policy Program, Harvard Law School.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Research for ongoing projects of ALC.
  • Innovative content creation for various social media platforms.
  • Research writing on diverse topics related to animal protection, welfare, and rights issues.
  • Aid in generating a positive direction to the public debate surrounding animal protection, welfare, and rights.
  • Assist in conducting training and workshops on Animal welfare issues.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by the Faculty Coordinator of the Animal Law Centre.

Essential Qualifications

  • Any student pursuing graduation in law or other streams with a recognized university.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.

  • Previous experience in legal research and drafting.
