ELIGIBILITY

• 4th or 5th-year students
• Demonstrable interest or prior experience in the domain of law and technology
• Excellent writing and presentation skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ideate and execute projects
• Undertake high-quality legal research, including research for inter-disciplinary projects
• Prepare quality reports, research notes, presentations, and such other materials as necessary
• Analysing decisions from foreign jurisdictions like the US, Singapore, Hongkong and UK (and others) to write case summaries- doing comparative analysis with the position in Indian law

APPLICATION PROCESS

• A writing sample of not more than 1000 words with an in-depth analysis of any recent legal issue (preferably pertaining to financial, technology or anti-trust issues or sports law)

ABOUT THE COMMISSION

The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) has been constituted under the Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) Act, 2005. It is the statutory watchdog of the Government of Delhi on matters of child rights. Some of the child rights the Commission works on are:

1. Protection of children from exploitation, abuse, labour, trafficking, and violence.
2. Protection of children from sexual offences;
3. Protection of children from child marriage;
4. Right to Education;

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

Designation: Program and Research Intern – Technology and Society

Carnegie India is seeking 2 (two) program and research interns, with a background in public policy or law to work for a period of six months.

1. Interns may be assigned administrative, editorial, research, writing, or organizational tasks to provide overall support to Carnegie India’s Technology and Society program.
2. Interns will also assist scholars on ongoing projects, background research, and events.
3. Responsibilities may include research assistance on cryptocurrency, space policy, data governance, encryption, digital privacy, FinTech, and semiconductor supply chains.

Ideal candidates must have:

• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Strong interest in technology policy and law.
• The ability to be an enthusiastic and creative team player while working both independently and collaboratively.

This is a full-time role and the selected candidates will be required to attend the offices of Carnegie India in New Delhi. Interns are provided with a stipend.

• A one-page cover letter clearly stating the desired position, as well as relevant experience and skills. The cover letter must indicate the period of availability.
• A one-page resume.
• A writing sample of no longer than 800 words.

Housing, living costs, travel costs, and medical insurance connected with the internship program must be borne by interns or other institutions or organizations. Interns are responsible for arranging their own travel to New Delhi and accommodation.
