ABOUT

The Indian Arbitration Law Review is a specialized periodical devoted exclusively to arbitration law, which offers legal professionals, academicians and students an up-to-date review of the field.

The Journal is published by EBC and indexed on SCC Online as well as HeinOnline. Published pieces include long articles, short articles, case comments, and book reviews on the law and practice relating to arbitration.

SUB-THEMES

The Journal welcomes submissions on any of the following sub-themes:

  • Summary Determinations in International Commercial Arbitration.
  • Validity of Pre-arbitral Dispute Resolution Clauses.
  • The intersection of International Arbitration and Sustainable Development.
  • Analysis of the ICSID Arbitration Rules, 2022.
  • International Arbitration as an Instrument of Economic Development.

CATEGORIES

  1. Long Articles (4000-8000 words): The article must be a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of a contemporary issue in arbitration law and should include references to a range of sources and contributions in the form of alternatives and suggestions.
  2. Short Articles (2000-4000 words): The article must be an analysis of a contemporary issue in arbitration law and should include a reference to a range of sources and contributions in the form of alternatives and suggestions.
  3. Case Comments (1500-4000 words): The comment must be an analysis of a recent judgment, bringing out its relevance in light of the development of arbitration law, views expressed in the judgment and the opinion(s) of the author.
  4. Book Reviews (1000-3000 words): The review must be a crisp account of a recently published book on arbitration, including the issues explored and related arguments of the author.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  1. Submissions are accepted only in the English language.
  2. All articles must be accompanied by an abstract not exceeding 300 words. Case Comments and Book Reviews do not need abstracts.
  3. The abstract must expressly include the novelty and usefulness of the idea that the author wishes to put forth and must categorically mention the specific contribution of the article beyond the existing available literature.
  4. Co-authorship (with no cap on authors) is permitted for all articles.
  5. The manuscript should not contain any references to the identity of the authors. However, authors are allowed to cite their previous published work.
  6. The body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman, with Font Size 12, and 1.5-line spacing.
  7. The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, Font Size 10, and single line spacing.
  8. The citations must conform to the style of OSCOLA (4th Edition).
  9. Manuscripts should only use footnotes as a means of citation. No other method shall be permitted.
  10. Substantive footnotes are permissible.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

Kindly send your manuscript in MS Word (.docx) format to ialr@nliu.ac.in. The subject of the email should be “Submission for Volume 5 – ”. The submissions must be sent by 11:59 pm, 31st August 2022.

The submission should be accompanied by a Covering Letter, which must include the following details:

Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) is organizing the National Conference on Protection of Traditional Knowledge and Biodiversity.

ABOUT

In the central part of India, the State of Chhattisgarh is richly blessed with forest and mines in around 135 sq. km of land. It has the 3rd largest forest area in India. Chhattisgarh is covered by deciduous and dry deciduous vegetation.
Deciduous forests cover roughly 44% of the State. The forests and woodlands are home to many animals and species of birds like Gaur, Sambar, Blackbucks, Pahari Myna, etc. Teak, Sal, Salai, tendu, and Bamboo trees are mainly found in
the State.

STRUCTURE OF THE CONFERENCE

The Conference will be organized in the following three parts:

  5. Co-authorship of a maximum of two persons is allowed.
  6. Proper acknowledgment must be given for such use of literature in the article submitted.
  7. The Board of editors may make such last-minute changes that are necessary to meet the requirements of space and format.
  8. The submission will be run through anti-plagiarism software and plagiarism in any form will result in rejection of the submission.
  9. The decision on publication will be intimated within two months after the submission deadline.

FORMATTING GUIDELINES

  1. Submissions must conform to the Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA), 4th Edition.
  2. The font shall be in Times New Roman of font size 12 with a line spacing of 1.5.

CALL FOR PAPERS

  3. One-inch margins should be maintained on all four sides.

The VIPS Law Blog is an initiative by the Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies (VSLLS), VIPS seeks to host original contributions consisting of in-depth analysis and interpretation of legal issues and concepts. The mission of the blog is to promote academic scholarship through the development of legal reasoning and argumentation. The platform hopes to create an environment conducive to the exchange of opinion amongst law students, academicians, jurists, legal practitioners, and law and policy enthusiasts. Guidelines for Authors

  2. The submission shall be authored by not more than 2 persons.
  3. The submission shall be made in .docx/word document format.
  4. The submission shall be in the English language.
  5. Word limit for the submission should be between 1200-1500 words will be preferred. However, longer submissions may be considered on a need basis. 
  6. The font style should be Garamond with font size 12 for submission with line spacing of 1.5 in justified format.
  7. The submission must have hyperlinks to sources, including any judgments, laws, treaties, or other legal texts which are referenced. Hyperlinks must link only to legal or respected news sources. The editors make the final decision over what constitutes a respectable source. 
  8. The submissions shall be properly structured with sub-headings/sub-topics.
  9. References that cannot be hyperlinked may be cited using Bluebook 21th Edition.
  10. The submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
  11. The submission of the author/authors shall be the original work of the author and should not be plagiarized. 
  12. The Blog shall receive a disclaimer from the author that the submission has not been published on any other platform and shall not be placed for consideration before any other platform for the purpose of publication.
  13. The final publication of all submissions shall be subject to changes by the Editorial Board.

The CBFL Blog

The Centre for Business and Financial Laws (CBFL) at National Law University, Delhi (NLUD) operates the CBFL Blog to publish the latest business law, financial law, and allied areas.

Articles are preferred based on emerging law conflicts, notes about a recent case, recent legislation, or recent legal developments. We, therefore, invite submissions from students, academicians, and practitioners on issues relevant to the areas of:

  • Corporate Law
  • Competition Law
  • Banking and Finance Law
  • Insolvency Law
  • Employment Law

However, these themes are indicative rather than exhaustive, and there is no requirement that the submission falls under the above heads. Please note that the pieces are expected to be analytical, and descriptive articles will not be accepted. Please feel free to submit your article if you believe it aligns with the Centre’s mandate.

Nature of Submissions

  • The blog invites rolling submissions.
  • Co-authorship of up to (2) authors is allowed.
  • Submissions should be no shorter than 1000 words and no longer than 1500 words.
  • In an event where your chosen theme requires relaxation, the Board of the Blog would be happy to consider it on a case-by-case basis. Please write to us regarding a word count relaxation, and we would be happy to consider your request.
  • Presently, the blog only accepts articles in English. We are constantly working with our editing team to allow submissions in vernacular languages.

Plagiarism and Author Agreement

  • Submissions should be the original work of the contributor. All submissions are screened via plagiarism software, and in an event where a submission is found plagiarized, the article will be summarily rejected. CBFL reserves the right to take further action against the author(s) as it deems fit.
  • The author is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the statement of facts, opinions, or views in the submission.
  • Submissions should not contain offensive, abusive, derogatory, or potentially defamatory content.

Formatting and Referencing

  • Font: Times New Roman; Size: 12; Line Spacing: 1.5. Paragraph Spacing: 0-6.
  • Authors should hyperlink relevant sources in the text. Where hyperlinks are not possible, consistent footnotes in either the Bluebook or OSCOLA are permitted. Footnotes must be kept to the minimum, if at all.
  • The submission must only be in a .doc/.docx format. The file name must be “Title_CBFL Blog”. The short title must capture the essence of the submission and not be longer than ten words.
  • Metadata of the file or the submission body must in no event disclose the identification of any kind, including the name and institutional affiliation of the author.

How to Submit?

Publication Policy

All submissions made to the CBFL Blog are double-blind refereed. The decision on publication is at the sole discretion of the Centre. Relaxation of any rules regarding submissions is subject to the discretion of the Board of Editors. On publication, all literary rights to the submission are transferred to the Centre for Business and Financial Laws, NLU Delhi.
