  • Conduct research and draft pleadings for active litigation, assist in producing substantive manuals for legal advocates.
  • Will be given an array of subjects from which to develop newsletter and website articles (reporting/analyzing newly promulgated or pending legislation, presenting case notes, and reporting on litigation trends). Should have good research, writing, and interpersonal skills.

The central information commission has been created under the Right to Information Act, 2005 for adjudication of appeals and complaints under this Act. The commission seeks to prepare a panel to engage legal consultants on contract basis initially for a period of one year which may be extended subject to satisfactory performance and requirement of the Commission.

Applications from Indian Nationals are invited for preparation of a panel of Legal Consultants from candidates fulfilling the following as eligibility conditions. Applicants should be dynamic and self-motivated professionals with effective analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.

Eligibility Conditions

Essential

  • Law graduate from a recognised University with minimum 50% marks.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in judicial or legal work in various courts, government, quasi-judicial authorities including tribunals and national commission.
  • Professional legal skills and drafting submissions proficiency in language.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, computer handling and internet browsing.

Desirable

  • Qualified in All India Bar Examination.
  • Work experience with the presiding officers of courts judicial or Quasi judicial authorities as legal assistant.

Age Limit

Not more than 35 years as on the last date of receipt of applications as per the advertisement/notice 

Fees/Remuneration

The selected candidates will be paid a consolidated amount of remuneration of Rs 40,000/- fixed per month. An increment of rupees 5000/- will be considered after 1 year subject to satisfactory performance of the individual.

Nature of Duties

The candidates to engage as legal consultant is expected to work with an Information Commissioner and shall perform various duties including the following works-

  • Preparation of case summary for the Commissioner;
  • Identification of legal issues for adjudication;
  • Legal appreciation of other laws act that have bearing on the case;
  • Legal research presidents of Honorable Supreme court high courts and orders of various commissions;
  • Preparing counter for writ petition;
  • Legal work as assigned by the Commissioner of commission

Terms and Conditions

  • The legal consultant on having accepted the offer of engagement shall be deemed to have entered into a contract with the central information commission as per the terms and conditions of engagement mentioned in the offer of engagement.
  • Any breach of the contract by the legal consultant shall be considered a sufficient grounds for the termination of the engagement made under the contract and may result in the debarring such legal consultant from future and judgement and making him or her also liable for an action as deemed fit by the commission.
  • Engagement may be terminated at any time by the commission by giving a notice of 15 days Similarly, if a candidate wants to resign he or she has to give 15 days notice in advance.

Undertaking

The successful candidate would be required to abide by detailed terms and conditions of engagement given in the annexure 2 and conditions mentioned in para 6 above.

Method of Selection

Shortlisted candidates will be examined/interviewed by a selection committee constituted for this purpose whose decision will be final and binding. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Intimation shall be sent only to the selected candidates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Review negotiation requests to ensure completeness of information and documents required for drafting; allocate to appropriate regional hubs. Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating International Commercial Contracts and Agreements, especially ISDA Master Agreement, Global Master Repurchase Agreement, Global Master Stock Lending Agreements,  Confidentiality Agreements and Non Disclosure Agreements;

Excellent collaboration and Team and People Management Skills, self motivated, ability to train team on derivative documents

– Sound legal understanding;

– Advanced knowledge of finance-based contracts, derivative business and market;

-Experience in negotiating derivative documents;

– proficient in MS Office Tools;

The Legal Department provides guidance, requirements and procedures for understanding and complying with the laws, regulations and Firm policies that apply to our businesses.

Global Financial Crimes is responsible for the development and governance of the Firm’s financial crime prevention efforts across all regions and business units. Global Financial Crimes is comprised of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-boycott, Anti-Corruption (ACG) and Government and Political Activities Compliance (GPAC) programs.

The Global Regulatory Relations Group (GRRG) is responsible for strategic and centralized management of the supervisory activities of Morgan Stanley’s regulators and related developments globally, with a focus on regulatory reviews and examinations and continuous monitoring activities. LCD Center of Excellence – Mumbai (LCD CoE) is a part of Morgan Stanley’s Global In-house Center, which provides global support to LCD and is an integral part of Firm and LCD strategy.

LCD Operations is a centralized support function for Legal & Compliance division. This team supports risk teams of both ISG and WM across all functions within LCD. The core responsibilities of the team in Mumbai involves monitoring and ensuring timely closure of transfer and periodic entitlement reviews, manage Information Security assessments, preparation of COO & CFO financial reports and presentations, support administrative and operational activities for Outside Counsel, handling vendor rate & e-bill reviews, managing vendor onboarding process and resolving invoicing exceptions in collaboration with Accounts Payable, internal stakeholders & vendors.

Primary Responsibilities (Day Job)

E-Billing Operations

•  Vendor onboarding due diligence & real time maintenance of different databases
•    Review and approve invoice expense line items as per standard policies and guidelines
•    Resolving invoicing exceptions by understanding the breakdown and working on solutions
•    Invoice/rates research & respond to standard queries
•    Work with internal and external stakeholders on invoicing and payment issues
•    Monitoring and maintenance of budget in the budgeting tool
•    Use reporting tools such as business objects to perform data analysis
•    Perform monthly and quarterly reporting
•    Support various risk management control implementation efforts for law firms usage

Coverage

•    Monday to Friday from 11.30AM to 8.30PM India time with flexibility on standard working hours for time sensitive matters (including India Public Holidays).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating all types of customer contracts in the energy, chemicals and resources industry including without limitation consultancy contracts; EPcM, EP, PMC or EPF contracts or SAAS, License or Software agreements;
  2. Review and response to Customer bids, tenders or RfPs in accordance with Worley’s policies and standards;
  3. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating joint venture/teaming arrangements/alliances and corporate structures.
  4. Drafting and negotiating Confidentiality Undertakings, Parent Company and Bank Guarantees;  
  5. Risk analysis of contractual documents and briefing project teams;  
  6. Advising on a broad range of legal and commercial issues.

The candidate should have done LL.B. (Hons.) and must have 2 to 8 years of relevant experience in a law firm or a company in the Energy or Technology sector and should have extensive experience in commercial and contract negotiations with energy or technology companies.
