FACTS

However, the banks cannot ask for such data according to section 8 Reserve Bank of India Act and the Banking Regulation Act, of 1949. This influences the right to privacy of such Banks and their purchasers. The Reserve Bank of India had given such bearings considering the decision of the High Court in the case of Reserve Bank India v. Jayantilal N. Mistry and Girish Mittal versus Parvati v. Sundaram and another. The application has been filed to dismiss these writ petitions.
PETITIONER’S CONTENTIONS
