ABOUT
Each article submitted to the competition can be authored by a maximum of two authors. The entries will be judged by a panel of eminent professionals and judges. The three best articles will be awarded cash prizes, along with a certificate of merit. The winning research paper will be published in the AIFTP Journal, Journal of GSTPAM, ITAT Online website and/or in other leading tax magazines.
ELIGIBILITY
Participation is strictly restricted to bona fide law students enrolled in the three-year or five-year LL.B. or degree course in any institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.

GNLU’s Centre for Research in Criminal Justice Sciences is organizing a Legislative Drafting Competition on the Prevention of Substance Abuse in Higher Educational Institutions and Schools.
ABOUT
The GNLU Centre for Research in Criminal Justice Sciences is organising the first edition of its Legislation Drafting Competition. The competition provides a remarkable opportunity for individuals to learn the nuances of legislative drafting and hone their skills in that respect.
The competition will help the participant to understand the intricacies of the process of drafting from identifying the issues to striking a standard balance between the ideal and the pragmatic aspects.
ELIGIBILITY
The competition welcomes students across all law schools to participate and help in the dissemination of ideas and experiences on the prescribed topic.
The competition is open to all students pursuing LLM or LLB from a recognized Law College/University. There is no restriction on the number of participants from a particular university.
The participant can register individually as well as in a team that may comprise a maximum number of 2 members.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The text must be in Times New Roman with Size 12, line spacing should be set to 1.5, no paragraph spacing with a one-inch margin on each side, and the alignment of the text should be justified.
Footnotes must be in Times New Roman, Size 10, with Single Line spacing.
Page numbers must be given at the Top Right-Hand Corner.
The draft shall not exceed 25 pages (excluding the cover page).
The cover page of the submission should include the Long Title of the bill along with the name of the Author(s), with the Author’s designation.
The Content of the legislature drafted should be original and not plagiarized (15% limit), or there shall be a deduction of 1 mark each for every percent or can lead to disqualification. The decision of the organizers shall be final.

TITLE
Implementation of Victim Compensation Scheme for the women victims in the State of Gujarat.
ROLES
Provide research assistance to Principal Investigator/Co-Investigators;
Conduct interdisciplinary research in view of the aim and objectives of the Project;
Developing qualitative and quantitative tools, and making qualitative and quantitative research analyses.
Collecting data, a compilation of datasets and interpretation of data analysis and report writing;
Perform project-related duties including administrative, coordination, etc. required to achieve the aim and objectives of the project;
Any other research or project-related work which may be assigned by the Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator.
ELIGIBILITY
Master’s Degree in Law, Criminology or Social Work with at least 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university; or Research Scholar in Law Criminology or Social Work.
Interest in Criminal Law is essential.
Good knowledge of the latest national and international research trends and developments in Law.
Working experience in MS Office, basic knowledge of information technology.
Strong analytical skills, excellent English writing and communication abilities and the ability to manage research projects.
Working knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi.
DESIRABILITY
Experience in court practice (Criminal Procedure), teaching/research in premier law universities/colleges.
Experience in empirical legal research.
Publication of research paper/article in reputed journal.
Presentation/Participation in State or National Level Conference/Symposium;.
Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
Ability to innovate and improve academic programmes or services and to pursue interesting new ideas and new methods.
Female candidates shall be preferred.

The World Movement for Democracy is inviting applications for the HURFORD YOUTH FELLOWSHIP 2023.
ABOUT
The Hurford Youth Fellowship Program seeks to build leadership skills and harness the potential of young democracy activists from around the world. Through the Program, young activists spend three months at the World Movement’s Secretariat, during which they expand their global connections, share experiences with other activists from democracy movements around the world, and contribute to the development of the World Movement for Democracy. Hurford Youth Fellows engage in strategic meetings; conduct research; and organize and lead presentations, online discussions, and information-sharing sessions on key democracy issues.
Upon the successful completion of each fellowship, the fellows serve as a regional/country focal point, working with the Hurford Youth Fellowship Alumni Network to remain involved and take the lead in youth-related activities.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants interested in the Hurford Youth Fellows Program must be no older than 30 years of age. They must demonstrate a strong interest in democratic activism and in the advancement of democracy in their respective communities, as well as worldwide. Youth affiliated with civil society organizations are especially encouraged to apply.
SELECTIONS PROCESS
Fellows will be selected by the World Movement Secretariat staff, NED regional program staff, and the Hurford Youth Fellowship Alumni Network following an application process. Selection will be based on a set of criteria including demonstrated activism or interest in the advancement of democracy, a desire to network with others, and a clear explanation of how the fellowship will benefit their own efforts for advancing democracy.
