About Child Rights Centre

The Child Rights Centre (CRC) is a specialized research Centre of Chanakya National Law University, Patna. The Centre was established with a mission to improve access to justice for children and promote research, advanced learning and advocacy to strengthen child rights laws, policies and practices in Bihar. Child Rights Centre is established & running with technical support of UNICEF for effective implementation of children’s laws in Bihar.

Categories for Submission

  1. Research Papers: Between 3000 and 5000 words, inclusive of footnotes. Papers in this category are expected to engage with the theme comprehensively, examine literature comprehensively and offer an innovative reassessment of the current understanding of that theme. Purely theoretical pieces are also welcome.
  2. Notes/Comments: Between 2000 and 3000 words, inclusive of footnotes. This section should include a thought provoking and innovative piece consisting chiefly of personal opinions and analysis.
  3. Case Comments: Between 2000 and 3000 words, inclusive of footnotes. This part should entail an analysis of contemporary Indian or International judicial pronouncements relevant to the themes. It must identify and examine the line of cases in which the decision in question came about, and comment on implications for the evolution of that branch of law.
  4. Book Review: Word limit is between 2000 and 3000 for review of a book relevant to the themes. The review should identify the relevant arguments put forth by the author and present a comprehensive analysis of the same.

Submission Guidelines

  1. There is no strict formatting requirements, but all manuscripts must contain the required sections: Author Information, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Conclusions, Figures and Tables with Captions, Funding Information, Author Contributions, Conflict of Interest, and other Ethics Statements.
  2. You can use Times New Roman as font theme, 12 as font size and 1.5 line spacing. For footnotes use Times New Roman as font theme, 10 as font size and single spacing.
  3. Author(s) name, affiliation(s) & contact details: The author(s) full name, designation, affiliation (s), address, mobile/landline numbers, and email/alternate email address should be in12 point Times New Roman Font. It must be centered underneath the title.
  4. The submissions should be made in MS Word format (.doc). The submissions must not infringe copyright or any other rights of any third parties.
  5. The submissions must not contain any obscene, defamatory, or discriminatory material. The author(s) will indemnify the journal in case of any infringement.

Review Process

  1. The Editorial Board will promptly acknowledge the receipt of the submissions. Decision on acceptance of the submissions will be communicated to the author(s) within 10 days from the date of submissions.
  2. The Editorial Board will review submissions carefully on the criteria of scope, content, structure, research, analysis, creativity, accomplishment of the paper’s purpose and inclusion of counterarguments in the submissions.
  3. The submissions will be rejected if plagiarized.

About the Seminar

Submission Guidelines

  • Kindly confine yourself to the areas identifiable with the title ofSeminar. The papers must be in Times New Roman, Font Size: Heading-14, Text-16 in A4 format, single line spacing, in justify not exceeding 2500 words including Title, details of the Author/s and Footnotes. Authors are encouraged to use The Bluebook (20th ed.) citation format for footnoting and it should be in Times New Roman Font 10 size. Further, speaking footnotes are discouraged. 
  • An Abstract not exceeding 250 words shall be submitted for consideration. The Abstract shall contain the Synopsis of the Paper, Subtitles, Reference materials and Conclusion indicating author’s perspective. The abstract must be mailed to klainternationalseminar10@gmail.com with the subject “Abstract submission” on or before December 23, 2021. It must be accompanied by a cover page, stating the following –

  • References need not be mentioned at the end of a paper and must be included within footnotes.
  • Precedents may be in Italics but not bold.
  • All sub headings must be left aligned, in bold.
  • The Papers shall be screened by a Committee. The Full Papers (2500 words) approved by the Committee shall be accepted for presentation in the Seminar. The intimation of selection will be made through E-mail.
  • The final paper should contain a cover page which includes Name, Designation, Relevant Discipline and Year of Study, Address, E-mail id and Contact number. Authors are to give details in the Full Paper.
  • Abstracts and papers should be written in English, and the working language of the Seminar will be English, and presentations shall be done in English.
  • Submissions should be made by the author who will attend the Seminar.
  • Co-Authorship is allowed but limited to one Co-Author only.
  • Only one paper per participant will be permitted. Multiple submissions will lead to disqualification. 
  • No part of the paper should have been published earlier nor should it be under consideration for publication. Any form of Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.
  • The Organizers will take earnest effort to publish the best articles selected from among those received, subject to their acceptance by reputed journals as per their criteria. 
  • Publishing Charges if any demand for the journal is to be paid by the author.

About the Moot

Hidayatullah National Law University is proposing to host the next edition of the 12th Justice Hidayatullah Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2022, HNMCC’22 as a physical event.

The Justice Hidayatullah Memorial National Moot Court Competition was started as a part of the centenary celebrations of the eminent jurist, author, and linguist, Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah & over the course of a decade, HNMCC has established a reputation among the legal fraternity, of being one of India’s premier moot court competitions.

The moot is going to be organized by the students and faculty of Hidayatullah National Law University under the able guidance and mentorship of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) V.C. Vivekanandan.

Eligibility, Team Size and Other Information

  • All students enrolled in a 3-year LLB programme or a 5-year integrated LLB programme shall be eligible to participate in the CCI-HNMCC 2022. However, only one team per university/institution shall be eligible to participate.
  • The team composition shall be as follows: 2 Speakers & 1 Researcher. The teams may choose to participate without a Researcher.
  • The Speakers shall not be eligible to participate in the researcher’s test. However, in the case of a 2-member team, one of the speakers shall be eligible to appear for the Researcher Test and that shall be notified to the Organizers at the time of Formal Registration.
  • Teams should not disclose the identity of their institution; such disclosure shall invite penalties including disqualification. The decision for the same shall be at the discretion of the National Administrator.

Registration Details

Registration for the 12th CCI-HNMCC 2022 will open on December 12th, 2021. The last date for registration shall be 11:59 PM, January 15th, 2022.

The registration fee for the Competition is ₹5,000 and has to be paid either through RTGS/NEFT/IMPS or through a Demand Draft. The payment details can be found in the registration form.

The following documents shall be submitted by the teams at the time of registration:

  • A letter of approval from the university permitting the team to take part in the competition.
  • Scanned copy of Demand Draft of the registration fee or the Receipt of online payment.

Awards and Trophies

Awards will be distributed in the following categories:

  1. Team: The team which wins the final round will be adjudged as the ‘Winner of the CCI-HNMCC 2022’ and will get an amount of ₹ 1,00,000 along with a trophy. The team members of the winning team will also be given an opportunity to intern with AZB & Partners. The team which secures second place will get the title of ‘Runners-up’ and ₹ 50,000 as a cash prize. The finalists will also be awarded various goodies from SCC Online.
  2. Best Memorial: The team with the highest memorial score (aggregate) will get the ‘Best Memorial’ prize along with a cash prize of ₹ 20,000.
  3. Best Speaker: The speaker who secures the highest score (average) at the conclusion of the Preliminary Rounds will get an award for the ‘Best Speaker’ with a cash prize of ₹ 20,000. It is necessary to argue for both parties in order to be eligible for the ‘Best Speaker Award’.
  4. Best Researcher: The researcher with the highest score in the Researcher Test will get the ‘Best Researcher’ prize along with a cash prize of ₹ 10,000.

About International Journal on Consumer Law and Practice (IJCLP)

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) is an institution of legal education focusing on undergraduate and graduate legal and policy education in India.

In Indian history first time the Consumer Law and Practice Chair (CLAP Chair) has been established in August 2008, at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU) by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi, to promote research, teaching and training in Consumer Law and Practice. From the date of establishment of this CLP chair, Prof.(Dr.) Ashok Patil is heading and administering this Chair and is the Chief Editor of this Journal.

  • All submissions are subject to a Plagiarism check.
  • All submissions go through an initial round of review by the editorial board and the selected pieces are subsequently sent for peer review, before finalization for publication.

The Faculty of Law at SGT University was established in the year 2014 with the mission of providing quality legal education to students coming from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. About Certificate Course

The Faculty of law, SGT University has currently five courses- B.A.LL.B, B.B.A.LL.B, LL.B, LL.M, and Ph.D. In order to expand the outreach and also to generate revenue, the law department proposes to launch a series of online certificate courses for the law professionals including scholars, students, working, faculty and others. To begin with, the Faculty of law has prepared a proposal to launch the first course entitled the Online Maritime law Certificate Course; the highlights of the course are as follows-

About the Organizer

The School of Law, VISTAS is approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. Vels Educational Trust was founded by Dr. Ishari K Ganesh a visionary and an eminent educationist, in fond memory of his father Thiru.Isari Velan. The Moot Court is named after Thiru. Isari Velan and the present 2022 Moot Court is the 4th Consecutive National Moot Court Competition hosted by the Moot Society – VISTAS.

About the Moot

Thiru. Isari Velan Memorial National Moot Court Competition (IVMNMCC) is an annual all India moot court competition organized by the School of Law, Vels
Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS), Chennai. The competition is one of the most sought-after mooting events among the Law schools in the city of Chennai. It started in the year 2019 and this year will be its fourth edition.

The past IVMNMC competitions have been graced by eminent Jurists and Judges namely Hon’ble Mr. Justice Kurian Joseph (Retd.), Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, Hon’ble Mr. Justice M.S. Ramesh, Judge, High Court of Madras, Hon’ble Mr. Justice M. Nirmal Kumar, Judge, High Court of Madras, Hon’ble Mr. Justice G.R. Swaminathan, Judge, High Court of Madras, Hon’ble Mr. Justice G.K. Ilanthiraiyan, Judge, High Court of Madras and Hon’ble Mr. Justice D. Bharatha Chakravarthy, Judge, High Court of Madras.

School of Law – VISTAS (Vels Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies) is organizing National Virtual Moot Court Competition 2022, scheduled to be held on February 25 and 26, 2022. The present moot problem is based on Constitutional Law involving power structures and nuances of Electoral Law. The IV Ishari Velan National – Virtual Moot Court Competition seeks to provide students with a platform to develop abstract thinking, logical reasoning and practical problem-solving.

Participation Guidelines

Eligibility Criteria: Students enrolled in Five-Years Integrated Law Degree Programme or Three-Year LL.B Programme at the time of the competition are eligible to participate in the Competition. Each Law College/Law School/Law University shall nominate a maximum of Two Teams to participate from their Institution.

Team Composition: A team shall comprise of Minimum Two or maximum Three Members i.e. Two Speakers and One Researcher. The Teams shall identify the speakers and researcher during registration.

Official Language: The official language of the Competition is English.

Dress Code: The teams are required to maintain dress code as mentioned below.

  • Boys: White Shirt, Black Trousers, Black Blazer, Black tie, and Black Formal shoes.
  • Girls: White Shirt, Black Trousers/Salwar (White and Black), Black Blazer, and Black Formal shoes.

The Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law Journal (“CALJ”) is the flagship journal of the Centre for Constitutional Law and Administrative Law, published under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) I.P Massey, Dean, Faculty of Law, National Law University Jodhpur.

CALJ aims to promote scholarly excellence in the area of comparative constitutional and administrative law with a diligent editorial board, an eminent advisory board and an institution known for its academic excellence. Each issue contains articles, notes, case comments and book reviews based on contemporary issues of comparative constitutional and administrative law.

How to Submit?

General Guidelines

  • The Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law Journal [“Journal”] attempts to initiate and foster academic dialogue concerning the subject of Administrative Law and Constitutional Law keeping in mind a global perspective. Please note that all submissions must be topical to the scope and theme of the Journal.
  • All submitted manuscripts shall be original. Any form of plagiarism would lead to immediate rejection of the submission.
  • Submission of solicited manuscripts, on invitation from the Journal’s editors, guarantees publication of the same. However, if such solicited manuscript does not meet the Journal’s standards of quality scholarship, final discretion to publish the solicited manuscript vests with the Editorial Board [“Board”]
  • The author(s) must inform the Board if the manuscript has also been submitted to another journal, website or forum. The Board must be notified immediately if an offer for publication from another journal, website or forum is accepted by the author(s).
  • After the first publication of a manuscript with the Journal, permission for any subsequent publication in another forum must be obtained from the Board.
  • All correspondence must be via e-mail, and should be addressed to the Managing Editor at: editorcalq@gmail.com

Specific Guidelines

Author(s)

  • Each manuscript may have up to two authors, however co-authorship is not permitted for Book Reviews and Case Comments
  • In case of joint authorship, the author from whom a submission is received by the Board, shall intimate the Board of the name, credentials and contact details of the intended co-author.

Citations and References

  • All relevant sources shall be duly acknowledged as footnotes.
  • Speaking footnotes are allowed
  • The text and citation styles shall conform to the rules prescribed in The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th edition).

Style Guidelines

The Journal accepts submissions in the following categories:

  • Articles- Not exceeding 10,00 (Ten Thousand) words. Articles must deal with issues of interest and relevance and must demonstrate a high level of analysis. Articles of a purely descriptive nature are not preferred.
  • Notes- Not exceeding 4000 (Four Thousand) words. Notes should cover a recent development or should be issue-specific. A Note functions as a more condensed and succinct Article.
  • Case Comment- Not exceeding 3000 (Three Thousand) words. Case comments entail a critical analysis of recent case laws and policy developments.
  • Book Reviews- Not Exceeding 2000 (Two Thousand) words. Book Reviews entail providing critical analysis and review of any book that deals with the subject matter of the Journal.

Note: All manuscripts must necessarily be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 350 words.

Word Count: Please note that the word limit would be considered excluding the footnotes, except when speaking footnotes are used. The journal may accept shorter or longer submissions depending on the quality of the submission.

Formatting Specifications

  • The manuscript must be word-processed in Garamond.
  • The main body text should be in font size 12 and footnotes in size 10.
  • There should be line spacing of 1.5 between paragraphs and headings in the main body and a line space of 1.0 in footnotes.
  • Verbatim quotes must be put in double quotes and italicised with a 0.5” indent.
  • The entire document, including footnotes, must be justified.

Language: The Journal shall follow British English.

Submission Procedure

  • The Author/s are required to email the manuscript to editorcalq[at]gmail[dot]com.
  • The manuscript may be mailed in Microsoft Word (‘.doc’ or ‘.docx’) format.
  • The manuscript shall not contain any details of the author, and anonymity must be maintained.
  • The subject of the mail must clearly mention, ‘Submission_Volume 6.2 [Article/Note/Case Comment/Book Review]’.
  • The mail must be addressed to the Managing Editor, providing the name of the author/s with the name of the institution affiliated to and the contact details in the body of the mail.
  • A mail confirming the receipt of the manuscript and subsequently its acceptance for publication would be duly conveyed to the author/s through the email id used by the author/s for correspondence.
  • The last date for submission is 11:59 p.m. (IST) on February 15, 2022 (Tuesday).

Authors, upon submission, communicate their acceptance of the following conditions:

  • The work, upon publication, becomes the property of the Journal.
  • Permissions for subsequent publication/reprint and/or derivative works must be obtained from the Editors of the Journal.

About the Conclave

The Conclave shall be a unique first-of-its-kind platform in India where students from across the country and globally shall get an opportunity to deliberate on contemporary issues of International Law.

The Conclave shall aim at the realignment of the global discourse on International Law from being Euro-American-centric to align with the strategic interests of African, Asian, and other developing countries. Theme of the Essay Competition

The theme of the competition shall be ‘Commentary on State Practice on the present International Law Commission Agenda Items’. Participants may choose to comment on any nation’s state practice on the following topics:

Submission Guidelines

  • Size of essay: 3500 words, including footnote. Footnotes shall be as per the latest OSCOLA edition.
  • Deadline: Entries to be sent by 1700 hours IST, 20 January 2022

Submission Guidelines

  • All submissions will undergo strict online plagiarism check.
  • Special consideration will be placed upon originality, applicability and feasibility of the arguments/ suggestions made in the essay and the depth of research.
  • The copyright in the legislative draft submitted by the participating teams shall vest with the Society of International Law and Policy. Further, The Society of International Law and Policy shall not be responsible for any liability accrued to any person or for any loss caused to any person because of the content of the essay submitted.
  • In case of any dispute, the decision of the Directors of the Society of International Law and Policy and National University of Juridical Sciences will be final.
  • Submission of the essays will take place via a google form –
  • It is the responsibility of each Team to ensure that the “.docx” copy of the submission can be opened legibly with Microsoft Office 2010 or Microsoft Office 2007 and the “.pdf” copy of the submission can be opened legibly with Adobe Acrobat Reader.
