The Willem C. Vis Moot is one of the greatest and most awaited events of the international arbitral calendar, taking place each year in both Hong Kong and Vienna. The Moot is organized by the Association for the Organization and Promotion of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Verein zur Veranstaltung und Förderung des Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot).
Jindal Global University has been hosting the Indian Vis Pre-Moot since its 7th edition in 2017. The Pre-moot will be on the same problem as the main moot and is used by teams as a testing ground before the real moot. Pre-moots open a world of possibilities and enhance performance. The Eastern European Foreign Investment Moot Court Competition is a comprehensive training in dispute resolution modelled on historic events from the wider Eastern European region. Designed to promote and invigorate legal studies with a focus on Eastern Europe, EEFI moot court invites law students and legal professionals to come together and learn more about complex disputes and legal history.
It is a student competition that has incorporated the best practices of the most successful moot courts and had them targeted at the experience and interests of the Eastern European region. The case-study is based on a real historic situation from the Eastern European region, and is adapted to the contemporary legal framework and problems facing the dispute resolution community.
Eligibility
All law schools worldwide are eligible to participate in the competition. Any restrictions due to Covid-19 pandemic or sanctions apply as per laws of the country hosting the oral rounds.
Students must be enrolled full-time, part-time or on an exchange study in a program leading to the obtainment of a degree in law at a university recognized by a state it is in.
Students of all levels of studies, including PhD studies, are eligible.
Students who are or were ever registered in a bar association are not eligible.
Team Composition
A team may consist of a minimum of two and a maximum of five student team members.
The number of coaches per team is not limited.
Only registered team members may participate in oral rounds as speakers. The team coach is allowed to be present at the hearings but is not allowed to intervene in the pleadings.
At least two of the team members have to plead in each pleading.
The Eastern European Foreign Investment Moot Court Competition organizers do not provide coaches for the participating teams. EEFI Moot Court will organize “practice sessions” for the teams and will invite specialists in the field of arbitration.
Upon registration, every team will receive the invitation links for the prospective “practice sessions”. Every team member will be able to join such sessions via that link and will be able to listen to those specialists and ask them questions.

Each team shall register by the deadline specified on the official homepage of the competition at EEFImootcourt.org.
In addition, each Team shall designate a Coach. If a Team wishes to participate without a Coach, it has to designate a Team Lead that will be responsible for all communication between the Team and Organization Committee of the Moot.

Maximum Number of Submissions
Total number of eligible submissions will be 50, to be determined on a first-come-first-served basis.
CLCT will not consider any other factor or any extenuating circumstances.
Eligibility
All current law students* worldwide are cordially invited to submit one paper, which must:
Focus on at least one application of these technologies (e.g., Internet of Medical Things devices, facial recognition technology, autonomous systems, social media monitoring, etc.);
Explain whether regulation of the application is needed and to what extent; and
Propose means to regulate this application (proposals may range from traditional regulation to reliance on soft governance, and anything in between).
A submission is not required to put forward an original regulatory system; however, any novel, plausible and well-articulated proposals are likely to impress the judges.

1.1) The Competition is open to law students, in good standing, enrolled in a law degree (e.g., J.D. or LL.B.), a Master’s degree (e.g., LL.M.) or a doctoral degree (e.g., S.J.D./J.S.D or Ph.D.) at an ABA-accredited law school within the U.S., or at a foreign law school with equivalent accreditation, during the 2021-2022 academic year.
1.2) Non-law degree seeking students enrolled in one course at an accredited law school during the 2021-2022 academic year may participate only as a joint author with a current law student who meets the criteria at Section 1.1.

Formatting Guidelines
Papers must be written in English.
Papers may not exceed 3,500 words, including titles, texts, citations, footnotes, appendices/annexes, bibliography, etc. Papers that exceed this limit will be disqualified.
Papers must be e-mailed as a word processing file type that can be easily opened with Microsoft Word.
Hard copies or other electronic formats (such as .PDF) will be disqualified.
The text of the submission must be single-spaced, justified paragraph formatting, and in twelve-point font.
Footnotes should be single-spaced and in ten-point font.
Pages should be numbered consecutively.
The total number of words must be entered on the Submission Form (please use Appendix 1 or Appendix 2 below). In computing the number of words, all words, including articles and prepositions, should be counted. Count numbers and abbreviations as words. For example, F.3d corresponds to 1 word; while 746 F.3d 913 corresponds to 3 words.
Submission Guidelines
Students must submit an unpublished paper written solely by the student(s).
Papers must not have received feedback or edits from any third parties, including faculty or instructors at the student’s institution. This must be expressly indicated on the Submission Form.
Papers that have been previously published or accepted for publication are not eligible.
Papers based on research or other work done in connection with law firm or other employment (whether full-time or part-time) are also not eligible.
Only one submission will be accepted per student. If CLCT receives more than one paper from the same author, none of the student’s submissions will be considered.
Co-Authorship: A paper co-authored by no more than 2 students is acceptable, provided the paper submitted is the original work of the two co-authors, and that both co-authors are currently-enrolled law students. If awarded a prize, co-authors will share it equally.
Papers should include a scholarly discussion of the topic and full citations to authorities. Citations may be embedded in text or set out in footnotes and should conform to the current edition of the Uniform System of Citation (Bluebook) for students at U.S. law schools, or the equivalent citation standard for students enrolled in foreign law schools.
Any form of plagiarism will result in the automatic disqualification of the author(s). CLCT reserves the right to inform the relevant university of the plagiarism offense.
By submitting the paper and official entry form, students agree that:
each has read these Rules and accepts the conditions stated herein;
each paper is an original piece of work written by the student (or is one co-authored by the two students), which has not received feedback or edits from anyone else, including faculty or instructors;
if co-authors are awarded a prize, they will share the prize money equally;

General Guidelines:
Co-authorship is permitted. (Maximum of two authors)
The submission shall be in English language.
The word limit for the article is 1200 words. However, longer submissions may be considered on a need basis. The word limit is inclusive of the footnotes.
Any uniform format of citation can be adhered to for the purpose of citations.
The submission must have hyperlinks to sources, including any judgments, laws, treaties or other legal texts which are referenced. Hyperlinks must link only to legal or respected news sources. The Editorial Board [“Board”] will make the final decision over what constitutes a respectable source. References which cannot be hyperlinked may be cited using any uniform style of formatting.
The submission of the author/authors shall be the original work of the author and should not be plagiarized. All submissions will undergo strict online plagiarism check.
The authors must also include a declaration as to the bona fides of their submission in their email. A sample declaration to that effect can be: “The article/blog is an original work of the author(s). I(We) certify that my(our) submission is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under review or consideration elsewhere.”
The final publication of all submissions shall be subject to changes by the Board.
The Board reserves the right to summarily reject or return the submission to the author/authors without feedback for non-compliance with these guidelines.
In case of any dispute, the decision of the Board shall be final and binding.
The opinion/thoughts/ideas or any view of the author expressed and published on the blog are respective views of the authors. The institution or the Board shall not be held responsible or accountable for the opinion expressed by the author on the blog article.
A relevant photograph can be provided by the authors describing their blog submission. Accompanying the image is optional (The Board may include one if accepted by the author). Team Composition: A team shall be comprised of Three Members i.e. Two Speakers and One Researcher. The Teams shall identify the speakers and researcher during registration and mention it too in the Approval Form.
Official Language: The official language of the Competition shall be English and Hindi
Dress Code: The teams are required to follow a strict dress code as prescribed by the Bar Council of India for Advocates.
The Team Codes shall be allotted to the participants after their initial On the day of Orientation Program the draw of lots shall be conducted.
How to Register?
The participants as a team are requested to register online from December 15, 2021 through this Google form link – Apply Now. After this initial registration, team codes shall be allotted and communicated on mail provided in the Form by the participants.
The registration fees of Rs. 750/- shall be paid later online and a copy of the receipt must be sent to mail i.e. mootcourt@osgu.ac.in. Only after payment of registration fees along with memorial submission, participation of teams shall be confirmed and same shall be communicated to given mail-in registration form.
