“Vakalat Works” is an initiative to bring to you all the law ’Full’ information. We aren’t as complex as judgments pronounced we’re precise. We build study materials from all the subjects of law and regularly update it on our social media accounts. About the Competition

Vakalat Works in association with ” The Legal Assistance”  organizing the ‘National Article Writing Competition’ on “social and contemporary legal issues”. The competition is intended to provide a platform to the law students across the country for their participation and showcasing their research and writing skills and abilities.

Evaluation Process


The contribution shall be evaluated on the basis of originality, innovativeness, conceptual clarity, grammar and language.


Submission Guidelines

 The work must be original which must be written solely by the Author(s) in English, and should not have been submitted for publication elsewhere.
 Word Limit: 1200-1800 Words
 A uniform mode of citation should be followed throughout the article. Participants should not mention their name or any kind of identification mark in the manuscript. A separate cover letter regarding the information of the author shall be sent which should include- Name, Designation, Email, Contact Information, Address and a brief introduction of both the author.
 Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Any paper found with plagiarism above 15% shall be immediately rejected.
 All submissions have to be made in MS Word format in Times New Roman with font size 12 and 1.5-line spacing.
 No entry will be entertained without registration.
 It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that the submissions do not contain any material that is defamatory, obscene or otherwise unlawful or litigious.

ABOUT THE MOOT COURT COMPETITION


The 1 st Lawschole Moot Court Competition aims to provide law students with excellence in the world of mooting. The top 8 rankers of the competition will also get a chance to represent their institution in the “Yearly Rounds of the Pracs Series- Lawschole Moot Court Competition”, which shall be held in January every year. The top 8 rankers shall get a direct entry to the early rounds of the competition at a global level. This event is an excellent opportunity for law students to turn things around and use their time wisely. The event will enhance the advocacy and drafting skills of the participants. The aim of this competition is to enable law students all across India to participate and showcase their majesty over law and legal principles over a virtual platform.

ELIGIBILITY

Students of three year and five-year law degree courses or PG students from any University/Law /School/College/Department are eligible to apply for registration of their team.

TEAM SIZE AND OTHER INFORMATION

Each team shall consist of a minimum of two participants and a maximum of three; two participants shall be the speaker and one participant as a Researcher. However, a team consisting of two participants are allowed as Speaker 1 and 2.
Maximum 20 teams are allowed to participate in the 1 st Lawschole Virtual Moot Court Competition on a first-come-first-served basis.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

i) The last date of registration shall be August 5, 2020. Early Bird Registrations are open from July 20 to July 31, 2020. The registration shall be on a first-come-first-served basis. Therefore, if the Team cap limit of 20 (Twenty) Teams is filled beforehand, the registration for the

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

Doctoral scholarship will be awarded to registered Ph.D. Scholars from
UGC recognized Indian Universities/ Deemed Universities/ Colleges, IIMs
having University/IIMs approved Ph.D. Programme to pursue and complete
their Doctoral Research in Auditing, Taxation, Commerce, Management
and Accounting Discipline.

The candidates must have confirmed Ph.D. Registration (Research Degree
Committee (RDC) approved) at any of the institutions mentioned above
on the last date of application. It includes the requirements of clearance of
Research Entrance Test (RET).


Eligibility


• Membership of the ICAI with minimum 75% marks/grade in 10th and
12th standard.
• NET/SLET and M Phil from a recognized university will carry weightage
in the assessment of research proposal.
• The scholar should not be more than 40 years of age on the last date
of application.
• Candidates who have already availed UGC Junior Research Fellowship
(JRF)/Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF)/ Maulana Azad National
Fellowship (MANF)/ICSSR/ICAR/CSIR/ICPR/ICMR/ICHR or any such
doctoral fellowship awardees are not eligible to apply.


APPLICATION PROCESS

• Applications are invited through ICAI website, ICAI journal, mass email
to members and should be received before 31st July 2020
• The application along with research proposal & abstract (3000 and 300
words respectively) and all the enclosures, must be sent to: Research
Committee before the last date mentioned in the advertisement duly
signed and stamped by the Ph.D. Registered institution.
Procedure for the award
• Applications are initially scrutinized by the Research Committee
Secretariat
• Thereafter, subject group(s)/Expert Committee(s) will short-list the
meritorious proposals from the eligible applications and thereafter by
the Research Committee of ICAI.
• Such applicants may also be invited for a presentation before an Expert
Committee at ICAI- HO or its COEs/DCOs.
• The recommendations of the Expert Committee will then be placed
before the Research Committee for its final approval.

CONTIGENCY GRANT

• Yearly grant not exceeding Rs. 50000/- per year.
Joining & release of scholars
• The scholar must join the scholarship within four weeks of the date
of the award letter by submitting the required documents through the
affiliating/administering institution. This may be extended by the ICAI up
to six months in deserving cases.
• The sanction of the scholarship will be issued initially for a period of one
year, effective from the date of joining of the scholar in the scholarship.
The renewal of the scholarship for the subsequent year shall be subject
to the receipt of satisfactory annual progress report and at least one
research paper in International Journal of repute and one in ICAI Journal.

Central Government Industrial Tribunal/ Labour Courts are set up under the provisions of Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 for adjudication of industrial disputes arising in Central Sphere. These are set up in various States, out of which 10 are under Non-Plan and 12 under Plan Scheme.

Salary

The Pay of the Presiding Officer of National Tribunal shall be fixed at Rs 80,000/- (fixed) per month and this shall include the deputation allowance in case of serving judges and gross pension in case of retired judges.

Eligibility

According to these provisions, the post can be held by a judicial officer who is, or has been, a Judge of a High court. The terms and conditions of appointment of a Judge to the post of the presiding officer will be as per the Presiding Officers of the Labour Court/Industrial Tribunal and National Tribunal (salaries, Allowances, and other Terms and conditions of service) Rules, 2015.

§  The internship experience writing competition is open to students enrolled in 3 years LL.B or an integrated BA.LLB/BBA.LLB course.

§  The submission must be made in .doc or .docx format only.

§  Judgment shall be based on the quality of the uniqueness and descriptive writing.

§  No extension in deadline shall be allowed.

§  The submission must include-

  • Your name, college, course, year of study. 
  •  Name of the organisation where you interned (name of the place)/ (remote internship)
  • Duration of the internship
  • First day
  • Area of work
  • What exposure did you get by interning there
  • Stipend
  • Your overall experience during the internship

The formatting guidelines to be followed are:

§  Font size: 12

§  Font: Times New Roman

§  Alignment: Justified

§  Line spacing: 1.15

Registration amount is Rs. 50/-

The last date for submission of essay is 19th July 2020.

Awards and Merit

§  1st Prize: Voucher worth Rs. 300 + e-Certificate of Achievement +submission will be published in the Lawschole’s E- Magazine.

§  2nd Prize: Voucher worth Rs. 150+ e-Certificate of Achievement + submission will be published in the Lawschole’s E- Magazine.

§  Top 5 submissions will be provided with the e-Merit Certificate and will be published in the Lawschole’s E- Magazine for free.

§  All participants are entitled to receive e-participation certificates.
