Key Responsibilities

Should have prior experience under legal team of fund management company and alternative investment funds or working as a part of a law firm with its asset management/funds practice.
Drafting of PPM, Contribution Agreement, Trust Deed, Investment Management Agreement etc. for registering an AIF.
Negotiating with the contributors on legal aspect and draft the contribution agreement and other related documents.
Drafting and negotiation with the Issuer on the transaction documents related to investment by the alternative investment funds.
Maintenance of legal agreements with respect to investment in AIF and further investment by AIF.
Drafting and negotiate other legal agreements such as Distribution Agreement, Engagement Letters etc.
Legal experience with respect to handling the requirement for receipt of investment in AIF through various jurisdiction such as USA, Europe, Middle Eastern countries etc.

Required Skills

Internship Scheme

NITI Aayog, Government of India had initiated an Internship Scheme in 2015. Based on the experience in the past years a review was made. Now in supersession of all the previous guidelines in this regard, The NITI Aayog announces the revised Internship Scheme. This Scheme seeks to engage students pursuing Under Graduate/Graduate/Post Graduate Degrees or are Research Scholars enrolled in recognized University/Institution within India or abroad, as “Interns”. These “Interns” shall be given exposure to various Verticals/Divisions/Units within NITI Aayog and would be expected to supplement the process of analysis within NITI Aayog through empirical collection and collation of in-house and other information. For the “Interns” the exposure to the functioning of the Indian Government may be an add-on in furthering their future interests.

Eligibility

  • UG students, having completed/appeared in the term-end exams of second year/4th semester of the bachelor degree course and secured not less than 85% or equivalent marks in 12th class.

  • The students who have appeared in the final exam or just completed Graduation/PG and waiting for admission for higher studies may also be considered for internship provided that they have secured 70% or more cumulative marks in all the years/semesters of their graduation/ post-graduation till the date of application.

Role of the Legal Consultant

To provide accurate and timely legal advice to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations on all legal matters and law that impacts, or may impact, the Council. To support the Council in the identification and management of legal risks to the organisation. 

Key Responsibilities of Legal Consultant

The legal consultant will be accountable for taking the day to day legal responsibilities and providing legal advice that includes, but not limited to, all the aspects of the analysis, investigation and drafting process as listed: –

1: To provide advice on different legal issues.

2: To be actively involved in preparing and drafting of different statutory and legal submissions and draft the authoritative legal opinions as well.

3: To assist in reviewing the legal material and any other relevant documents and to identify the most important issues that need to be sorted out on a priority basis

4: To draw up formalities regarding the settlement of legal cases and monitor the implementation of the legal clauses.

5: To coordinate, follow-up and monitor the progress of the cases pending in various courts of law across the country in consultation with the Council’s legal representatives.

6: Taking a lead role, especially during meetings, hearings, etc., and prioritizing work to ensure that the services delivered to the Council are of high quality. 

Educational Background and Experience 

Should have least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in law, (master’s degree in law related field preferable) Adequate knowledge and experience in Constitutional matters, Right to Information Act etc.

Essential Skills and Abilities 

Should possess excellent analytical and drafting skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to recommend suitable decisions based on judgment.

Be able to function without anybody’s supervision and should be able to deal appropriately with confidential information.

Be an excellent team player with the ability to prioritize work.

The Legal Consultant should keep himself/herself updated with all the legal laws and should be able to apply them in the given situation.
