It was established with the motive of promoting innovative ideas and thoughts to facilitate the creation of social enterprise knowledge through research, workshops, and events to empower students to develop and apply their entrepreneurial solutions for creating a greater social impact and to help in the development of the country as a whole.

About IGNITE 2022

IGNITE is the flagship event of C.S.B.I which reflects every entrepreneur’s dream opportunity; opportunities such as ones bearing a close resemblance to the likes of ‘Shark Tank.’ It is a Business Plan Competition, and it is also set to be the first national virtual business plan competition of Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad, organized in collaboration with Symbiosis Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (SCEI).

The objective and purpose of ‘Ignite’ is to provide an educational and competitive experience of how an entrepreneurial endeavour is. The team provides a platform for every student entrepreneur to present their business plan and to receive greatly insightful inputs from industry experts.

This competition is open for all students across disciplines belonging to any college in India.

Registration

  • Any student enrolled in a bachelor’ degree or Master’s degree in any college in India can participate in Ignite 2022.
  • The registration opens on February 1, 2022, and the students can register in a team of 1 to 4 members through the Google Form provided. The registration fee per team is Rs. 1000.

About competition

Symbiosis Law School, Pune is organising the “Juristas-International Law Essay Competition 2022”. 
This competition aims to promote research and knowledge creation in the field of international
law.

Topics

The Topics for this year are:

  • Climate change versus Modernization
  • Discourse on Climate Change- Influenced Human Migration: Its Legal Implications with special emphasis upon COVID- 19
  • Construction of a clear course for the ‘Net-Zero’ Emission target: Backing common but differentiated responsibilities or forced compliance.

Eligibility

Participation is open to all UG and PG Law students in any institution in India and abroad.

  • Participation is open to all the Undergraduate and Post-graduate Law Students enrolled in any institution in India and abroad.
  • Co-authorship is allowed but resticted to a maximum of two individuals per essay.

Submission Guidelines

  • All entries should be in Times New Roman, size 12 and line spacing 1.5
  • The Essay should not be less than 4500 words and not more than 6500 inclusive of all footnotes.
  • The essay should be accompanied with a 250 word abstract which shall not be counted towards the word limit.
  • All entries should contain footnote citations which should be in Times New Roman, size 10 and single line spacing.
  • The footnote should conform to the system of citation specified in the Harvard Blue Book, 20th Edition.
  • The use of end-notes and other citation methods is not permitted.
  • All entries should include a cover page specifying name of the author, institutional affiliation, course and year of study, e-mail address, postal address and contact number. Any identifying information is not to be mentioned anywhere in the text of the essay and violation of the same shall lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Paper must be original and unpublished work of the authors. The paper should not be under consideration for publication or in a contest elsewhere.
  • Plagiarism of any nature will attract immediate disqualification. Plagiarism of up to 10 percent would be permitted.
  • The organizers reserve the right to reject the entries that do not conform to the above mentioned guidelines.
  • Essays will be reviewed by a distinguished panel of impartial Judges and Academicians.
  • Essays will be judged anonymously.
  • The Essays once submitted will be the sole intellectual property of Symbiosis Law School, Pune

How to Submit?

  • The participants must attach an attested copy of their students Identity Card along with the essay.
  • The deadline for the submission of entries is March 31, 2022.
  • All the submitted entries shall be forwarded for ranking, to a panel of eminent experts in the field of International Law.

There is no registration fee.

The first, second, and third place holders, thus ranked, shall be awarded cash prizes and certificates.

About the Brown-Mosten ICCC 2022

The Louis M. Brown and Forrest S. Mosten International Client Consultation Competition is an annual competition for the winners of national rounds of the competitions across the world. The 2022 International competition will be held in Online Mode between 19th-24th April 2022 and hosted by the Hillary Clinton School of Law at Swansea University, Wales.

This competition provides an exciting opportunity for law students to learn and practice interviewing and counselling skills as well as to meet participants from an amazing range of nations and cultures.

A Client Counselling Competition for law students was first established in 1969 by Louis M Brown. It was adopted by the American Bar Association in 1972 and the International Competition was inaugurated in 1985. The International Competition was named after Louis M Brown in 1993 and In May 2010, the competition’s name was subtly changed from “client counseling” to “client consultation”.

The Competition is affiliated with the International Bar Association and collaborates closely with law societies and bar associations throughout the world.

About the Host Institution-HNLU

Hidayatullah National Law University was established under the Hidayatullah National University of Law, Chhattisgarh, Act, (No. 10 of 2003). It is recognized by the University Grants Commission u/s 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956 and also by the Bar Council of India u/s 7 (1) of the Advocates Act, 1961.

Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (HNLU) is hosting National Rounds of Louis M Brown and Forrest S Mosten International Client Consultation Competition, 2022 in Online Mode scheduled from 5th-6th March 2022. The winning team of the national rounds would represent India in the Louis M. Brown and Forrest S. Mosten International Client Consultation Competition, 2022.

Eligibility

  • Only Law Colleges/Universities recognized by the Bar Council of India are eligible to participate.
  • Only bonafide students pursuing LL.B. Three Year/Five Year Degree programmes in aforementioned institutions, during the current academic year are eligible to participate.
  • Members of any winning team of the Brown-Mosten ICCC are not allowed to re-enter the competition.

About The Chair on Consumer Law

The Chair on Consumer Law has been established at the National Law University, Delhi by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India in the year 2019. The Chair was set up to act as a Think Tank for Research and Policy related issues on Consumer Law & Practice, and to develop Consumer Law as a distinct subject of study both at Under Graduate & Post Graduate levels.

About the Essay Competition 2022

The Consumer Chair at National Law University Delhi proposes to organise an Essay Competition as part of celebration of World Consumer Rights Day, 2022 (15th March). The Essay Competition endeavours to stimulate interest and foster growth amongst students to explore and engage with contemporary and seminal issues in the field of consumer law and policy.

  • The word limit is 2500-3000 words excluding footnotes. Footnotes must follow the Bluebook system of citation (Harvard, 20th edition).
  • The essay must contain an abstract, not exceeding 250 words (which would not be counted in the word limit for the essay). It must indicate the theme/topic.
  • All submissions should be made in an electronic form at consumerchair@nludelhi.ac.in under the subject heading “Submission: Essay Competition 2022” by February 20, 2022, 23:59 hours.

How to Submit?

  • The essay must be accompanied by a separate document containing the following:

    • (iii) A declaration that: “The Essay is an original work of the author(s).
  • I (We) certify that my(our) submission is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under review or consideration elsewhere.”
  • Incomplete or plagiarized submissions shall be summarily rejected. The similarity limit is 15% (excluding footnotes).
  • The final publication of all submissions shall be subject to changes by the Editorial Board.
  • The Board reserves the right to summarily reject or return the submission to the author/authors without feedback for non-compliance with these guidelines. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Board shall be final and binding.
  • The opinion/thoughts/ideas or any view of the author expressed and published on the essay are respective views of the authors. The Chair or the Board shall not be held responsible or accountable for the opinion expressed by the author on the essay.
  • The Chair reserves the right to cancel the competition without notice, in case suitable/quality entries are not received in the competition or in case of any other event outside our reasonable control.

Keeping in mind its aim to foster further Constitutional studies, CLPRS is conducting a National Essay Competition on Constitution Law. Participating authors are required to adhere to the below mentioned topics and submission guidelines.

Authors are required to strictly follow the following submission guidelines:

  • The essay submitted should be of at least 1200 words, but not more than 2000 words.

About the Competition

The Judgment Writing Competition, 2022 has been conceived with the aim to cultivate the art of writing judgments among students to push the students to write judgments. The students are given the feel of assuming the role of the judge.

The great strength of this contest is to engage the students with multi-tasking of both creative lawyering and innovative judging The judgment writing competition will have the following principles and purpose:

  • To develop a judicious mind
  • To apply legal concepts with a clarity of thought
  • To promote the spirit of the rule of law and justice
  • To interpret the law in a justifiable manner with a view to meet ends of justice

  • Release of Moot Proposition, Rules, and Commencement of Competition: January 20, 2022
  • Registration deadline: February 5, 2022
  • Last Date for seeking Clarifications: February 15, 2022
  • Last Date of Submission of Judgment: February 25, 2022
  • Declaration of result: March 8, 2022

Eligibility Criteria and Team Composition

The Competition shall be open to students who are pursuing an integrated 5-year LL.B. programme in India or pursuing a 3-year LL.B. programme in India

From each institute, only one team can represent the institute.

Provided in furtherance to the above clause, the first 24 teams shall be reckoned on basis of the final registration

Team Composition: Each team shall constitute of 2 members, under no condition shall a team consisting of more than 2 members be allowed to participate.

The participating institutions have to register by filling up the Google form (link has
been given below) on or before February 5, 2022 by 11:59 PM (IST)

Registration Fee

To confirm participation, teams of every Institution should register themselves with the Registration forms duly signed by the heads of the institution along with the fees of Rs. 500/-per team.

Submission Guidelines

  • It shall not exceed 2500 words (excluding authorities).
  • The write-up shall be in Times New Roman, Font size 12 and the line spacing 1.5.
  • Footnotes shall consist of size 10 and spacing of 1.
  • The team is required to cite authorities similar to Judgments of Court.
  • The write-ups shall have no plagiarism and should be an original work of participants.
  • The participant shall follow 20th Edition Blue Book Citation.
  • Teams shall not reveal their identity in any form, except by means of the Team Code allotted to them during the Competition.
  • The Written Submissions shall not reveal the identity of the team in any form and should not bear the logo, name etc. of the University represented.

  • Trophy to the Winning Team Cash prize of Rs. 10,000/-
  • Trophy to the First Runners up Team Cash prize of Rs. 5,000/-
  • Trophy to the Second Runners up Cash prize of Rs. 3,000/-
  • Certificate will be issued to all the participants

About the Event

Over twelve years, the competition has become one of the biggest moot court competitions in the country which consistently witnesses participation from the top law schools in India with more than 35 top law schools participating in 2021. The competition promises a challenging problem, high competition and excellent judging.

Participants will be provided with the opportunity to argue before an illustrious panel of judges, including judges from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and the Competition Commission of India.

Eligibility

Participate in the Competition by registering a team consisting of at least two and not more than three members. A maximum of forty teams will be hosted this time.

The selection would be made on a first come first serve basis. National Law University, Jodhpur would be glad to host your representatives as our guests during the course of the Competition. The Proposition and the Official Rules of the Competition have been sent along with the invitation. The same would also be available on the Competition web page.

They would appreciate an e-mail confirmation of your institution’s participation in the Competition at the earliest. Provisional registration (in case the team composition has not been determined), if not done yet, may be done by sending an e-mail confirming participation.

Competition is an invite-only event, limited to 40 teams.

  5. On the webpage please enter your Email Address and click on “Continue”.
  6. After clicking on “Continue”, you will be redirected to the page “Fee Details” wherein from the drop down list, please select the event that you are paying the fee for i.e. Thirteenth NLU Antitrust Law Moot Court Competition, 2022. Once you select the option, the event name and the fee amount shall automatically be filled i.e. Rupees 1500/-.
  7. You are requested to fill the remaining details on the form i.e. your Name, Mobile Number, Email Address and your Institute’s Name. You can leave the Roll No.” field empty.
  8. After verifying your details on the next page, click on “Pay” to proceed to make the payment.
  9. You shall be redirected to the HDFC payment gateway portal wherein you can select your preferred mode of payment. After filling your required details, click on “Pay Now”.
  10. Upon successful payment, a receipt would be generated.
  11.
