NUSRL Ranchi is making a call for chapters for its Centre for Research in Alternative Dispute Resolution.

ABOUT

As the legal and practical aspects of Alternative Dispute Resolution, an ever-growing efficacious, speedy and cost-effective mechanism of dispute resolution, are often ignored and not extensively written about, the upcoming book aims to initiate a discourse on the pressing and contemporary issues in arbitration practice in India, and present novel and innovative solutions to the issues faced by all the stakeholders.

THEME

There is no set theme, however, the Chapters must address the key issues pertaining to ADR and related contemporary issues.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  1. Co-authorship is limited to a maximum of two authors.
  2. All submissions must be in Times New Roman font size 12, and Spacing 1.5.
  3. The Word limit for all submissions is between 3000 – 5000 words. This stipulation is, however, flexible at the Editor’s discretion in exceptional cases.
  4. All entries should be submitted in .doc or .docx format.
  5. The write-up must be named in the following format:
  6. For single authors: “[Last Name]_[Title of the Write-up].doc”. Eg: “Sharma_The Rise & Rise of ICSID.doc”.
  7. For two authors: “[Last Name of 1st Author],[Last Name of 2nd Author]_[Title of the Write-up].doc”. Eg: “Sharma, Gupta_The Rise & Rise of ICSID.doc”.
  8. Relevant information about authors, including name/s, roll number/s and batch/es, should be written on the first page under the title of the write-up.
  9. Authors must follow Oscola legal citation style.
  10. The submissions must be original, unpublished, and an outcome of the author’s own efforts. Any submission to the CRADR automatically includes a declaration to the effect of “The article is an original work of the author(s). I(We) certify that my(our) submission is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under review or consideration elsewhere.”
  11. Authors must acknowledge and give due reference to any source. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited, and articles found to be plagiarized will not be considered for publication.
  12. On submission, authors shall be deemed to have divested the copyright to CRADR. However, all moral rights shall vest with the author(s).
  13. Editors reserve the right to change/modify/alter/improve the text so submitted by the author(s) before their final publication.

ABOUT

The Centre of Aviation and Space Laws (CASL) of the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, is an academic Centre created under the aegis of Prof. (Dr.) Sandeepa Bhat B. and Dr Shouvik Kumar Guha. The Centre intends to explore, analyse and critique the legal developments in the aviation, space and allied industries.

ELIGIBILITY

Scholars, practitioners and students. The student submissions need to be co-authored with a scholar or a practitioner.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • The post must deal with contemporary issues of international or domestic interest involving either aviation or space laws.
  • The post must not exceed 1500 words in length.
  • In case of submissions between 1500–3000 words, the same should be divided into two blog pieces for publication in two parts.
  • The title of the blog piece must not exceed ten words. This stipulation is flexible as per the Editor’s discretion in exceptional cases.
  • All submissions made to CASL should be the original work of the author(s).
  • The author(s) work shall be passed through anti-plagiarism software. Any form of plagiarism above 20% will lead to automatic disqualification.
  • Analytical and critical posts will be preferred over descriptive ones. The quality of the post will be judged based on various factors, including novelty, relevance, quality, structure, logic, argumentation and writing style. Submissions may be accepted and rejected solely based on the Editor’s discretion.
  • Co-authorship for blog posts is permitted. However, the number of co-authors shall not exceed two.
  • Interested authors are required to send in their submissions to casl@nujs.edu.
  • The subject of the email should be “Submission – CASL Blog Post.”
  • Submission must be accompanied by a cover letter mentioning the name of the author, the name of the blog piece and brief bibliographical information. For example, Mr/Ms. X is a Professional at Y or Mr./Ms. X is a 3rd Year B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) student at Y.
  • The content should also mention five keywords that capture the essence of the piece.
  • The body of the submission must contain the name/s of the author/s below the title of the blog piece, and the institutional affiliation/s must be mentioned before the references.
  • In the body of the e-mail, the contributors must include a simple declaration confirming the originality of the piece. For example, “I hereby confirm that this blog piece is my original work in entirety.”
  • Once a blog piece is submitted to CASL and is under its review, the author shall not submit the same piece anywhere else.
  • Once the piece is published with CASL, the same can be cross-posted only with those websites which are permitted by CASL.
  • The post must be in a word-processed format using Garamond font, size 14, line spacing 1.5.
  • References must be in the form of hyperlinks linked to the keywords in the body of the submission.
  • At the end of the blog piece, the author must list offline references.

ABOUT

After the successful release of the inaugural edition of NLIU – Journal for Legislative Drafting and Parliamentary Research (JLDPR) on the occasion of the 25th Foundation Day of NLIU, the Centre for Parliamentary Studies, NLIU (CPS) is pleased to announce that it is now accepting submissions for Volume II of the JLDPR.

The Journal is an annual, double-blind, peer-reviewed publication of CPS. It aims to generate interest in the realm of constitutional law, administrative law and public policy research. The Journal also intends to provide a forum for debate and discussion on contemporary developments in the above-listed areas.

THEME

JLDPR welcomes original, contemporary, analytical, and unpublished manuscripts on constitutional law, legislative drafting, parliamentary research, and public policy from students, academicians, and professionals.

SUBMISSION CATEGORIES

Long Articles

  • Long article should provide an in-depth study of the contemporary legal issue. We intend to incorporate critical analysis and original assertions on the said issue. The word limit for the long articles can vary from

Short Articles

Short articles should include condensed studies on contemporary legal issues. Case Comments

Case comments should include the interpretation of any landmark judicial pronouncement on any contemporary legal issue. Brief information regarding contribution to and digression from the existing laws would be appreciated. The word limit for the case comments can vary from 1500-3000 words (exclusive of footnotes).

Legislative Briefs

Legislative briefs should determine the implications of any existing or proposed Indian legislation. The author(s) may concentrate on a specific section or sections of the legislation, or they may present an overview of the legislation. The word limit for the legislative comment can vary from 1500-3000 words (exclusive of footnotes).

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • The submissions are to be made only in Microsoft Word Format (.docx or .doc files) by sending an email to cps@nliu.ac.in. Emails must mention the subject: “Call for Papers – JLDPR | Volume II” followed by the title of the paper.
  • Soft copies should be submitted by 23:59 hours, November 15, 2022.
  • All articles, and short articles, must be accompanied by an abstract not exceeding 300 words.
  • Heading and sub-headings will be formatted with case sizes of 14 and 12 respectively in Times New Roman and Bold.
  • Body of the writing will be formatted with case size 12 in Times New Roman.
  • Footnotes shall follow the line spacing of 1, and the rest of the manuscript shall follow the line spacing of 1.5.
  • All referencing and footnoting shall strictly adhere to the standards laid down in the Oxford University
  • Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (4th ed.). Substantive footnoting is impermissible.
