About Citizens for Justice and Peace:

Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) is a non-commercial organization and a Human Rights movement dedicated to upholding and defending the freedom and constitutional rights of all Indians. Primarily, they focus on minority rights, freedom of expression, criminal justice reforms, and child rights. They have led legal campaigns to defend Indian citizens in Assam, for POCSO, to protect Forest Rights and Adivasi Human Rights Defenders and the like.

About the opportunity:

Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP), a human rights, non-commercial organization, invite submissions from lawyers, activists, students, journalists among others engaged with issues of human rights, communalism, caste, and the law for publication on both, Citizens for Justice and Peace and Sabrang India.

Research volunteer:

We invite law students, 3rd year onward, from law schools across the country to work with us on researching various ongoing litigation on human rights issues, from within the courts and through policy decisions of the executive. The work would involve researching on-going litigation processes that CJP and other human rights organizations are involved in, especially those related to diversity, discrimination, land and forest rights, labour, and violence, particularly structural violence.

Plagiarism of any kind will not be tolerated. Acknowledgment should always be made when other works/sources are used. Please respect the effort that other writers have put into their work and maintain honesty in your submissions.

Submission process:

All submissions are to be sent to info@cjp.org.in. The subject of the email should be “Submission.”

Pieces can be co-authored. Along with your work, please send a short description of your piece (around 100 words) as well as a two-line bio of the author(s). We accept submissions in both English and Hindi.

Please note that all documents are to be submitted in Microsoft Word format only, videos must be sent via YouTube, and pictures should be embedded in a word document, preferably. If possible, please send a picture to be used along with your piece under the Creative Commons license. If you do not send a picture, the editorial team will pick an appropriate picture to go with your piece.

All submissions will be subject to review by the editorial team of Sabrang. We reserve the right to edit your content for language, structure and style.

We are currently unable to provide remuneration for your work, as we are a non-commercial organization.
