About the Organizers

Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT WPU is the Flagship University of MAEER’s MIT Group of institutes, which has over 100,000 alumni all over the world. MIT WPU Campus is in Kothrud, Pune, and is the most preferred destination for students.

School of Law was established in the year 2018 and with the launch of this School, a new chapter began at MIT WPU. Within a short span of three years, MIT WPU has become the preferred destination for pursuing higher education in Law. The School of Law provides value-based learning in Law programs through interactive sessions, hands-on practical sessions, moots, classroom presentations, industry-driven assignments. 

About the Competition

MIT-WPU Faculty of Law cordially invites your college to participate in CCI – MIT WPU School of Law 2nd National Moot Court Competition 2022. Which is going to be held from April 28th to 30th, 2022. This competition intends to allow young law students to develop their skills in drafting, researching and advocating.

The objective of this moot court competition is to test the research skills of students in contemporary topics in the sphere of competition law and provide a platform where students can learn about competition from industry experts.  

Eligibility

The moot is open to all the students currently enrolled in LLB undergraduate degree courses. The competition has been designed for all the students pursuing law courses at different Universities/Institutes/Colleges approved by the Bar Council of India. 

Students pursuing the five-year integrated law degree as well as students pursuing the 3-year law degree are eligible for participation in this competition.

Kindly complete all the registration formalities stated in the Official Rules of the moot on or before 16th April 2022 (11:59 P.M. IST).

Registration Fee: All the teams shall be required to pay ₹2000/- via NEFT/RTGS before April 16th, 2022 (11:59 P.M. IST) to register for the competition.

People’s Public Policy Case Competition: Christ University

The event is organized by Christ Academy Institute of Law, Bengaluru in association with the Centre for
Environmental Law, Education Research and Advocacy (CEERA), National Law School of India University,
Bengaluru (NLSIU) under the aegis of the Chair on Urban Poor and the Law, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.

About the Competition

Public Policy is the tool of the executive to fulfill the dreams and aspirations of the Constitutional Framers.
Policy drafting and policy formulation are regarded as the primary step of any planning process for
development. Participation of citizens while drafting a policy is very pertinent, especially in a democracy like ours as it is believed that democracy is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

In order to inculcate a sense of participation in policy-making among the youth, Christ Academy Institute of Law, Bengaluru in association with CEERA, NLSIU under the Chair on Urban Poor and the
Law, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India is organizing a Policy Case Drafting
Competition.

Eligibility

  • The Policy Drafting competition is open for all the students enrolled in 5-year or 3-year LL.B and LL.M programme.
  • There is no cap on registration on number of teams from a college/University.
  • A team shall be composed of two students only.

Registration Procedure

The registration fee for a team is INR 200 (Rs. Two Hundred Only).

Interested participants may register by filling in the google form – the link for which is provided at the end of this post.

All registrations shall be done latest by February 25th, 2022.

Submission Guidelines

  • The language of the submission should be in English.
  • The word limit of Policy Submission should be between 3000-4000 words, exclusive of footnotes.
  • The draft shall not reveal the identity of the participants, whatsoever. For submission, a team code shall be given by organisers which shall be the mark of identity.
  • The submission of the draft policy is to be made to public.policy@calaw.in to be sent on or before March 14, 2022, 11:59 PM with subject line “Public Policy Case Submission.
