About the Moot Court Competition

The Moot Court Competition 2021 will be held virtually on 12th March 2021.

The competition will be conducted in two sections; Law and Commerce. Teams from Law Colleges will compete against Law College teams and teams from Commerce colleges will compete against commerce college teams. There are separate prizes for Law and Commerce Sections.

Eligibility

The competition is open for undergraduate students of recognized Law and Commerce colleges/universities/institutes.

How to Register?

Interested participants, fulfilling the eligibility criteria are required to register for the event by completing this google form- click here and providing their details. The registration fee is Rs 300/- per team.

Team Composition

The team should consist of two mooters and one researcher only.

Mentoring/Training Session

The participants will be trained by law students on how to analyze facts, how to form arguments, how to make the memorial by doing the relevant research. The aim of the training session is to help participants have a grasp of the event and prepare for the competition.

Memorial Submission

 All participants will be required to submit a memorial as per the details provided in the brochure.

Preliminary Round

  • In the Preliminary Round, each team shall compulsory present oral arguments from both sides- Plaintiff/appellant or Defendant/Respondent in accordance with the lots chosen by the organizers of the team at the orientation session.
  • One participant from each courtroom with the highest total marks in Preliminary Round will proceed to compete in the Final Round.

Finals

The participants will be allotted either the plaintiff/appellant or defendant/respondent side in the final round.

Dress Code

As per The rules of the Bar of the Council of India (white shirt, black trousers, and  black blazer)

The participants should submit the soft copy of both the memorials, in ‘.doc’ format, no later than 23:59:59 on the date of memorial submission at bmccmootcourt@gmail.com with the subject line as “Submission of Memorials”.

Location

The organizers reserve the right to switch the mode of the Competition to Online/Virtual based on the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Government of India, enforceable at the time. The participants will be notified in advance of the mode of the Competition in case of any modifications.

Team Eligibility and Composition

  • Participation is strictly restricted to bona fide law students pursuing the three years or five years LL.B. degree course in any institution in India. Students pursuing their LL.M. and Diploma courses are not eligible for participation.
  • Only one team shall be allowed to represent each participating institution.
  • Each participating team should have three participating members. In a team, two members shall be designated as ‘Speakers’ and the third member shall be designated as ‘Researcher’.

Registration Procedure

The registration for the moot shall open on the 4th of January, 2022. A total of 36 slots are available for the moot, meaning thereby that the registration for the moot shall take place on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The interested teams are requested to get their universities provisionally registered via mail from the official email id of their MCC/MCA. Upon receiving the acknowledgement of the provisional registration, participants are requested to follow the procedure given here under final registration.

All the participating institutions have to confirm participation by filling the registration form via the registration link, on or before 30th January 2022.

In furtherance to this, the participating Universities are required to send a detailed mail consisting of the details of the participating members along with an Authorization Letter/Mail.

Registration Fees

The participating teams are required to pay INR 6,000/- as registration fees at the time of registration. In case the Competition is conducted in Virtual Mode, the registration fees to be paid will be INR 3,500/-, the remaining balance will be refunded by the organizers to the concerned teams within a reasonable period of time.

The last date to deposit the registration fees is 5th February 2022. Non-payment of Registration Feesshallresult in the cancellation of the Registration of the Participating Team. In such a scenario, the newly available slot shall be given to the next team in line.

Prizes

The following awards shall be awarded in the Competition:

  • Best Team: The Team winning the final round of the Competition shall be given a trophy and a cash prize of INR 30,000/- (Indian Rupees Thirty Thousand Only).
  • Runners Up: The runners up team in the final round of the Competition shall be given a trophy and a cash prize of INR 20,000/- (Indian Rupees Twenty Thousand Only).
  • Best Speaker: The speaker having the highest score in the preliminary rounds shall be given a cash prize of INR 8,000/- (Indian Rupees Eight Thousand Only).
  • Best Written Submission: The team has the highest average written submission score from both sides shall be given a cash prize of INR 8,000/- (Indian Rupees Eight Thousand Only)
  • Best Researcher: The participant having the highest researcher’s score shall be given a cash prize of INR 8,000/- (Indian Rupees Eight Thousand Only)
  • Certificates of merit shall be given to all the teams qualifying for Quarter-finals and beyond.
  • Certificate of participation shall be given to all the participating teams.
  • The awards, certificates of merit and certificates of participation shall be given during the valedictory ceremony to be conducted on 3rd April 2022. No certificate will be given to the team before or after the valedictory function.

About the Moot Competition

The Moot Court Competition has been organized to achieve excellence in the field of Legal Education, we are making an attempt to set up a common platform for all the law students for their overall development to become an advocate. Moot Court Competition will give Competitors such an opportunity to gain valuable experience and training in written and oral appellate advocacy, furthermore they will gain experience in the legal research, analysis, writing and oral advocacy skills during the competition which is valuable in a wide range of practice areas and make participants more marketable to legal employers. As a step towards this, we have organized the Fifth National Moot Court Competition (Hybrid Mode).

Who is it for? 

All students currently enrolled in three year or five-year LL.B. in any Law School/College/University in India, are eligible to participate in the Competition.

Any recognized Institution/College/University shall be entitled to send only one team to the Competition.

Anand, Gujarat (The Competition is going to be conducted through Hybrid Mode)

Registration Procedure

  • Teams must register themselves latest by February 10, 2022.
  • The registration fee is Rs. 1200/-.
  • It is compulsory for all the participating teams to attach the permission letter including consent from their College/Institution/University. The permission letter should be on the Letter head of the Institution issuing it and shall include the Names of each participants and their course with semester. Kindly upload the Pdf copy of the permission letter in the registration link. No form shall be accepted, in case the permission letter is not uploaded in the registration link.
  • The registration fee shall be non-refundable.
  • Any change in team composition will not be entertained after the registration. In case of any unforeseen contingency where it becomes imperative to change the team composition, the participating team shall send an application through mail to the Administrator, mentioning the compelling reason for the change. However, the change in the composition shall be done at the discretion of the Administrator.

Each participating team shall pay a notional entry fee of Rs.1200.00 (One Thousand Two Hundred only) by way of an Online Transfer in the account. The Barcode for the Payment is given under the Brochure.

About the Competition

The 1st National Insolvency & Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition 2022 is an initiative of the Student Moot Court Committee of HPNLU and of Chambers of Abhinav Mishra, Advocates and Solicitors to bring together students from different regions to interact, compete and challenge their skills as future legal practitioners. As one of the emerging National Law Universities in India, HPNLU has hitherto undertaken measures to provide holistic and meaningful legal education to bright young students from across the country. Owing to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the event is set to take place virtually. The competition is being powered by ‘AAA Insolvency Professional LLP’. 

Eligibility

Participation is restricted to undergraduate law students pursuing a three/five-year LL.B degree programme in any Bar Council of India recognized institution/law school/college/university in India.    

Team Composition

A maximum of three members and a minimum of two members are allowed to participate.

About the Competition

NALSAR has previously organized several premier moot court competitions and has witnessed the participation of the brightest brains in law schools around the country. In keeping with this tradition, the university is organizing the inaugural edition of the NALSAR-CCI Antitrust Moot Court Competition with one of India’s most prominent law firms, Khaitan & Co. The CCI’s advocacy initiatives under the Competition Act, 2002, complements the objective of the moot to stir up research and amplify the participants’ interest in the emerging competition law issues. About Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL)

The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, was established by the State Legislature of Punjab by passing the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act, 2006 (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006). Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab has always envisioned serving the society through reforms in legal services by way of preparing professionally competent lawyers. The current moot was a complete reflection of the motto of our university which is ‘knowledge empowers’. Mooting is always an integral part of a law student’s life, and thus, finds a very regular mention at our university. To further the mooting culture of our university and to provide the participants with a platform to showcase their advocacy, the University organizes various moot court competitions.


The RGNUL Moot Court Committee is one of the leading and most active committees here at RGNUL, the significance of the committee is immense. The committee has been known for organizing various moots and related activities aimed at promoting a positive sense of mooting culture. ‘The committee also facilitates the allotment of various national and international moot court competitions to the teams who proudly represent
RGNUL in these competitions.

10th RGNUL Moot Court competition

The RGNUL Moot Court Committee is tremendously honored to inform you that in April 2022, we will be organizing the 10th edition of RGNUL National Moot Court competition. This edition’s moot proposition has been drafted to test the knowledge, research aptitude and application of law by the participants on various aspects of Criminal Law.

The moot shall be organized on-campus(offline) from the Ist-3rd of April. However, the organizers reserve the right to switch to online/virtual mode subject to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines issued by the Government of India. The participants will be notified beforehand in case of any modification in the mode of conduction of the Competition.

The registration for the moot shall open on 4th of January, 2022. A total of 36 slots are available for the moot, meaning thereby that the registration for the moot shall take place on a first-come-first-serve basis. The interested teams are requested to get their Universities provisionally registered via a mail from the official email id of their MCC/MCA. Upon receiving the acknowledgment of the provisional registration, participants are requested to follow the procedure given in the Rules for final registration. The Registration fee for the moot is INR 6,000/-. In case the Competition is conducted in Virtual mode, the registration fees to be paid shall stand at INR 3,500/-. If such a situation arises, the remaining balance will be refunded by the organisers to the concerned teams within a reasonable period of time.

The Lucknow University Moot Court Association is the institution’s student committee entrusted with fostering, administering, and facilitating mooting activities and upholding the benchmark of excellence that Lucknow University has set for itself.

Established in 2012 with the view to promote oral advocacy skills and legal writing techniques. The association has been successfully organizing moot court competitions year after year.

Team Composition and Eligibility

  • Students pursuing the Three or Five Year courses of the LL.B. Degree or its equivalent in the academic year 2021 – 2022 from any recognized Law School/College/University in India are eligible to participate.
  • Any recognized Law School/College/University shall be entitled to send maximum of 2 (two) teams to the Competition.
  • The participating team shall comprise a minimum of two and a maximum of three members. In a team of two members, both the members shall be designated as Speakers. In a team of three members, two members shall be designated as Speakers and the third member of the team shall be designated as a Researcher.
  • No additional member or team coach is allowed to accompany the team.

Language

The official language of the competition shall be English.

The registration process will start on 24th December 2021. Institutions must complete their registration by filling the google form, latest by January 30, 2022 (23:59 Hrs IST). The registration shall be on a first come first serve basis.

  • Winning Team Award: The winning team will get a trophy, medal, certificate of appreciation with cash prize of Rs. 30,000

About HILSR

Hamdard Institute of Legal Studies and Research (HILSR) is one of the departments of Jamia Hamdard. Established in 2018 after approval from the Bar Council of India (BCI).

About the Moot Competition

The Founder-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, Hakeem Abdul Hameed, a renowned physician of the Unani system of medicine served the poorest of the poor and also had global dignitaries and personalities such as Prince Charles of England as his patient. Hakeem Saheb was a philanthropist who always had public service as his driving force. He set up a complex of educational institutions over a period of time which finally got amalgamated in Jamia Hamdard in 1989.

The 1st Hakeem Abdul Hameed National Moot Competition is scheduled to take place on March 25th-27th, 2022 at Hamdard Institute of Legal Studies & Research (HILSR), School of Law, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. However, kindly note that the competition may be held in online mode in case the COVID-19 pandemic worsens.

Eligibility and Team Composition

The competition is open for students pursuing 3-year or 5-year LL.B from any University approved by the Bar Council of India. All team members must be vaccinated with both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. The vaccine certificates of all team members will be verified on arrival.

Each time must comprise of three (3) members. Two (2) speakers and One (1) Researcher. This number cannot be modified under any circumstances.

How to Register?

Teams must not forget to attach the proof of fee payment in the form. At the time of registration, teams must attach a NOC from the University head/Dean/Director. The same must be attached to the form. The last date for registration shall be 25th January 2022.

The registration fee for the competition shall be Rs 4,000 per team. In case the number of registered teams exceeds 16, there will be shortlisting on the basis of memorials and the top 16 teams shall proceed to oral rounds.

Teams must note that this amount will not be refunded even if the team does not qualify for oral rounds. The registration fee shall not be refunded under any circumstances. The payment must be made via Online Bank Transfer to the following account:
