ABOUT THE CERTIFICATE COURSE ON OFFENCES AGAINST HUMAN BODY UNDER IPC

The Certificate course on Offences Against Human Body consists of three (3) Modules, which shall be made accessible to the enrolled students from the “My Courses” section from August 16 to September 15. Journal for Law Students and Researchers [JLSR]  is an Online Journal with ISSN[O]: 2582-306X and 8 indexings, which is quarterly, Peer-Reviewed, published online and JLSR seeks to provide an interactive platform for the publication of Short Articles, Long Articles, Book Reviews, Case Comments, Research Papers, Essays in the field of Law.

JLSR welcomes contributions from all legal branches, as long as the work is original, unpublished, unplagiarized and is in consonance with the submission guidelines.

NATURE OF CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Articles: An article must conduct a complete analysis of the area of law, which the author seeks to highlight. It must contain a comprehensive study of the existing law with the suggestions and conclusions of the Author. Word Limit being 1,100 to 4,000 words.
  • Notes: A note is a relatively concise form of an argument advanced by the author. The focus of a note should be on a relatively new debate or controversy regarding the interpretation or implementation in the law. Notes shall primarily highlight contemporary issues, which need to be addressed, and the authors are expected to offer a solution. The maximum word limit for a manuscript in the form of note is 1,500-2,500 words.
  • Comments: A comment is where the author may decide to critique any recent/landmark judicial pronouncement or any recent legislation or bill before the Parliament or State Legislature. The word limit for a comment is 2,000-3,000 words.
  • Book Review: A Book Review is where the author identifies the central idea of the book, gives the reader indication of the author’s style, approach, or premises, and then offers an overall evaluation adding suggestions and latest amendments to the given laws in the book. The word limit is from 2,000-3,000 words.

  1. Citation Format: The citation format to be followed is The Bluebook (19th Ed.)/Any Standard Format.
  2. Abstract: Every submission should be accompanied by an abstract of 250-300 words describing the relevant conclusions drawn in the manuscript.
  3. Biographical Information of Authors: Details with biographical information of the authors must be given in the footnote of Author’s Name including the following details: Post, Email address, Name of Institution, Course (if applicable), Academic Year.
  4. Papers with plagiarism less than 25% are only eligible for publication.
  5. Font Style: Times New Roman and font size 12.

ABOUT THE MOOT COURT COMPETITION


The 1 st Lawschole Moot Court Competition aims to provide law students with excellence in the world of mooting. The top 8 rankers of the competition will also get a chance to represent their institution in the “Yearly Rounds of the Pracs Series- Lawschole Moot Court Competition”, which shall be held in January every year. The top 8 rankers shall get a direct entry to the early rounds of the competition at a global level. This event is an excellent opportunity for law students to turn things around and use their time wisely. The event will enhance the advocacy and drafting skills of the participants. The aim of this competition is to enable law students all across India to participate and showcase their majesty over law and legal principles over a virtual platform.

ELIGIBILITY

Students of three year and five-year law degree courses or PG students from any University/Law /School/College/Department are eligible to apply for registration of their team.

TEAM SIZE AND OTHER INFORMATION

Each team shall consist of a minimum of two participants and a maximum of three; two participants shall be the speaker and one participant as a Researcher. However, a team consisting of two participants are allowed as Speaker 1 and 2.
Maximum 20 teams are allowed to participate in the 1 st Lawschole Virtual Moot Court Competition on a first-come-first-served basis.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

i) The last date of registration shall be August 5, 2020. Early Bird Registrations are open from July 20 to July 31, 2020. The registration shall be on a first-come-first-served basis. Therefore, if the Team cap limit of 20 (Twenty) Teams is filled beforehand, the registration for the

Central Government Industrial Tribunal/ Labour Courts are set up under the provisions of Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 for adjudication of industrial disputes arising in Central Sphere. These are set up in various States, out of which 10 are under Non-Plan and 12 under Plan Scheme.

Salary

The Pay of the Presiding Officer of National Tribunal shall be fixed at Rs 80,000/- (fixed) per month and this shall include the deputation allowance in case of serving judges and gross pension in case of retired judges.

The Salary of the Presiding Officer of the Labour Court or Industrial Tribunal shall be:

Eligibility

According to these provisions, the post can be held by a judicial officer who is, or has been, a Judge of a High court. The terms and conditions of appointment of a Judge to the post of the presiding officer will be as per the Presiding Officers of the Labour Court/Industrial Tribunal and National Tribunal (salaries, Allowances, and other Terms and conditions of service) Rules, 2015.

In case of appointment on deputation of serving judges as presiding officer, the normal period of appointment shall be for a period of three years and in case of retired judges, the appointment shall be till the age of 65 years.

Guidelines

  1. There is no hard copy submission.
  2. The essays must be submitted in the English language only and must be in Microsoft Word Format (.doc/.docx). The submission in any other language and format will be rejected summarily.
  3. Only one submission per author is permitted. Co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of two authors per essay.
  4. All entries should include a cover page specifying the name of the author, institutional affiliation, course and year of study, e-mail address, and contact number.
  5. Any identifying information should not be mentioned anywhere in the text of the essay and violation of the same shall lead to immediate disqualification.
  6. Plagiarism of any nature will attract immediate disqualification.
  7. The suggested word limit for the essay is 3500 words exclusive of citations.
  8. Every essay must have a title and an abstract. (150 words)
