India International Jurists LLP (‘IIJ LLP) presently requires confident, energetic, and hard-working Advocates of varied work experience to fill up 6 positions in the litigation, commercial and corporate divisions of the firm, at its Connaught Place Office at New Delhi :

CODE-‘A’: PRINCIPAL ASSOCIATE [No. of positions: 1 (ONE), PQE/ Work Experience: 6 – 9 Years] CODE-‘B’: SENIOR ASSOCIATE [No. of positions: 2 (TWO), PQE/ Work Experience: 3 – 6 Years] CODE-‘C’: ASSOCIATE [No. of positions: 3 (THREE), PQE/ Work Experience: 1 – 3 Years]

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of law holding an LL.B or LL.M degree from any reputed Indian or foreign university. Universally

applicable for CODE- ‘A’, CODE- ‘B’ & CODE- ‘C’. • Additional qualifications as CA/CS would also be taken into consideration for candidates applying under CODE- ‘A’.

• Qualified to practice as an advocate before courts of law and tribunals across India, holding valid and active enrollment with their respective State Bar Council and having passed the ‘AIBE’, if applicable.

KEY EXPECTATIONS:

• The candidate should have demonstrable knowledge and practical working experience in various areas of law like civil procedural laws, commercial law, arbitration law, corporate/company/ securities law, banking & finance law, financial frauds, insolvency law, etc. Universally applicable for CODE ‘A’, CODE- ‘B’ & CODE- ‘C’.

• The candidate should have sufficient experience in litigation before various fora and specifically have experience in drafting pleadings, applications, writ petitions, SLPs, etc., more particularly in the field of commercial and corporate laws. Universally applicable for CODE- ‘A’, CODE- ‘B’ & CODE- ‘C’.

• The candidate should have great research, analytical, and drafting skills, whilst having keen attention to detail. Universally applicable for CODE ‘A’, CODE- ‘B’ & CODE- ‘C’.

• The candidate should be ambitious, committed, dynamic, and demonstrate an ability to excel and take initiative. Good interpersonal and team skills are a must. Universally applicable for CODE- ‘A’, CODE ‘B’ & CODE- ‘C’.

• Technological proficiency with computer operating systems, word, excel, pdf, etc. is mandatory. Universally applicable for CODE- ‘A’, CODE ‘B’ & CODE- ‘C’.

• The candidates applying under CODE- ‘A’ and CODE ‘B’ with specialization in power sector/ energy law, renewable energy law, mining & environmental law, arbitration law, and having exposure of appearances before the concerned courts and tribunals would be given preference.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. CODE- ‘A’: Candidates applying under CODE- ‘A’ ‘PRINCIPAL ASSOCIATE’, if selected, may be entrusted with the following responsibilities to lead a particular division of the firm in active association with the assigned associates of the firm:

• to take up leadership responsibilities, with a solution-oriented approach.

• to be able to independently lead a particular corporate/ litigation division of the firm in active association with the assigned associates,

• to be able to formulate strategies in writing the matters discussed with the clients,

•to be able to discuss the strategy with the managing partner/partners of the firm,

• to be able to give presentations to the client or their legal team,

• to be able to ensure research work on the assigned matter with the active involvement of assigned associates,

• to be able to independently draft, vett and settle the pleadings of the matters assigned in association with the assigned associates of the firm,

• to be able to ensure filing of the matters under exclusive supervision,

• to be able to ensure briefing of matters, where senior advocates are involved,

• to be able to independently argue the miscll. applications, interim applications, cross-examine the witnesses, address final arguments etc. in association with the assigned associates of the firm.

B. CODE- ‘B’: Candidates applying under CODE- ‘B’ ‘SENIOR ASSOCIATE’, if selected, may be entrusted with the following responsibilities

• to work dedicatedly under a solution-oriented approach.

• to be able to assist and work as per the instructions of the partners and principal associates of the firm in tandem with the associates of the firm in the matters assigned,

• to be able to discuss the matters and devise strategies in consultation with the managing partner/ partners/ principal associates of the firm,

• to be able to give presentations to the client or their legal team,

• to be able to ensure briefing of matters, where senior advocates are involved,

• to be able to argue the miscll. applications, interim applications, cross-examine the witnesses, address final arguments etc. in consultation with and/ or as per the instructions of the managing partner/ partners/ principal associates of the firm.

C. CODE- ‘C’ : Candidates applying under CODE- ‘C’ ‘ASSOCIATE’, if selected, may be entrusted with the following responsibilities:

• to work dedicatedly under a solution-oriented

approach.

• to be able to assist and work as per the instructions of the partners and principal associates of the firm in tandem with the senior associates of the firm in the matters assigned,

• to be able to discuss the matters and brief and assist the managing partner/ partners/ principal associates, senior associates of the firm,

• to be able to assist the seniors in finalizing thepresentations to the client,

• to be able to ensure research work on the assignedmatter under the supervision of the seniors,

•to be able to assist the seniors in the drafting of the pleadings of the matters assigned,

• to be able to ensure filing of the matters under the instructions and supervision of the seniors,

• to be able to assist the seniors in preparing the brief

• to be able to assist the seniors in the drafting of the pleadings of the matters assigned,

• to be able to ensure filing of the matters under the instructions and supervision of the seniors, to be able to assist the seniors in preparing the brief for the senior advocates,

• to be able to assist the seniors in arguing the miscll. applications, interim applications, cross-examining the witnesses, addressing final arguments etc.
