The National Commission for Women (NCW) is a statutory organisation of the Indian government that generally advises the government on all issues of public policy that affect women. It was created on January 31st, 1992, in accordance with the National Commission for Women Act of 1990 and the provisions of the Indian Constitution. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has been established as a statutory body with the mandate to further examine the constitutional and legal protections for women, suggest corrective actions to remove obstacles to achieving these objectives, facilitate the resolution of grievances, and provide advice to the government on all policy issues affecting women.

The Commission also plans workshops and consultations, forms expert committees, conducts research and makes recommendations for the economic empowerment of women, holds workshops and seminars on gender awareness, and engages in public awareness campaigns to raise awareness of such social ills in society.

About the Responsibilities  

For both paid and unpaid internship opportunities, the NCW or National Commission for Women is accepting applications in order to efficiently spread knowledge and information about issues pertaining to women. In order to efficiently spread knowledge and information about issues pertaining to women and create a pool of skilled labour, NCW decided to immediately begin hiring interns.

Therefore, it has been determined to provide the following types of internships:

Scheme A: First-year students enrolled in a 3-year LLB programme or third-year students enrolled in a 5-year LLB programme or postgraduates studying sociology or social work are eligible for unpaid internships for a minimum of 30 days. Year one

Plan B: A 60-day paid internship Students enrolled in the second year of the three-year LLB programme, the fourth and fifth years of the BA, BBA, and B.Sc. LLB programmes, the second year of the postgraduate programme in sociology, social work, gender issues, women’s studies, or gender studies, as well as the LLM, M.Phil, PhD, and Ph.D. scholars

As an intern you are required to: –

  • Every intern must keep a journal of their work from each day of their internship with the Commission. All interns will also need to sign a statement promising to keep any papers or information that comes to their awareness secret.

Stipend

 In fewer than 60 days If an intern works for fewer than 60 days, there will be no honorarium awarded. sixty days Rs. 10,000 per month for an internship

During a minimum 30-day period:

  • first-year students in the three-year LLB programme OR third-year students in the five-year LLB programme, postgraduates in sociology, or social workers Year one

During a minimum 60-day period:
