About IGNITE 2022

IGNITE is the flagship event of C.S.B.I which reflects every entrepreneur’s dream opportunity; opportunities such as ones bearing a close resemblance to the likes of ‘Shark Tank.’ It is a Business Plan Competition, and it is also set to be the first national virtual business plan competition of Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad, organized in collaboration with Symbiosis Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (SCEI).

The objective and purpose of ‘Ignite’ is to provide an educational and competitive experience of how an entrepreneurial endeavour is. The team provides a platform for every student entrepreneur to present their business plan and to receive greatly insightful inputs from industry experts.

This competition is open for all students across disciplines belonging to any college in India.

Registration

  • Any student enrolled in a bachelor’ degree or Master’s degree in any college in India can participate in Ignite 2022.
  • The registration opens on February 1, 2022, and the students can register in a team of 1 to 4 members through the Google Form provided. The registration fee per team is Rs. 1000.

About the Centre

The Centre for Environmental Legal Studies [CELS] was established by the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab in 2016 as a research centre tasked with the responsibility of undertaking and encouraging discourse on the wide array of enviro-legal issues faced by humanity, at a domestic, regional and international level.

CELS seeks to collaborate with various experts, leading academicians, legislators, and government authorities to raise awareness of environmental concerns and advance legal remedies for the same, while also endeavouring to contribute to the complex and multi-dimensional issues of enviro-legal policy in India.

About the Blog 

The CELS Enviro-Legal Blog is an egalitarian space that aims to foster critical interdisciplinary research on environmental developments across the world via inviting original contributions by the legal fraternity. The objective is to stir and promote discussion and discourse between various stakeholders in the field of environmental jurisprudence.

It intends to provide an accessible forum for relevant, well-researched, and edited scholarly articles. The blog will be stationed on contribution basis where the cognitive analysis of the contributors will be published for public discussion.

Call for Articles

The CELS Enviro-Legal Blog invites articles on a rolling basis on contemporary environmental issues. Under exceptional circumstances, the editorial board may accept write-ups that revisit significant yet dormant issues, if they provide a unique and novel perspective or have paradigm scope for discussion.

The contributions must include high- quality interdisciplinary and legal analysis of environmental issues, case laws, legislation and policy-making, and activism. Quality of research and adherence to the submission guidelines are quintessential requirements for acceptance.

Eligibility 

The CELS Enviro-Legal Blog invites articles from students, environment law researchers, academicians, practitioners, members of civil society organizations and policymakers. 

Submission Guidelines

  1. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
  2. The title of the manuscript should indicate the sub-theme that has been chosen by the author(s).
  3. The word limit for the submission shall be 800-1200words, accompanied by an abstract of not more than 150 words. The word limit is exclusive of endnotes and abstract.
  4. Co-authorship to a maximum of two authors, of the same or different institutions, is permissible.
  5. The body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman, font size 12 with 1.5 line spacing. The endnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10 with single line spacing. The text alignment should be justified.
  6. Ensure that the title of the document has been renamed to the title of the post [without any personal detail of the author(s)].
  7. Referencing and citations must be put up in the form of in text hyperlinks for internet sources.
  8. Endnotes for offline sources shall adhere to Bluebook (20th Edition) citation format.
  9. Submissions should include the manuscript in .doc or .docx format. The manuscript should not contain the name of the author or his/ her institutional affiliation or any other identification mark.
  10. Along with the manuscript, a separate cover letter in .doc or .docx format has to be attached. The Cover letter should contain the name of the author, professional information, the title of the manuscript, contact information, a short bio about the author(s).
  11. Authors must also indicate their academic qualifications including their year of study or degree(s) completed and the name of the university/ institution to which they are affiliated.
  12. Manuscript shall be sent along with the Declaration form(provided below) stating that the manuscript is an original and a bona fide work of the author(s) and they undertake to divest the copyright of the work to The CELS Enviro-Legal Blog, if accepted for publication.The Declaration form is available here as declaration form.

Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee is hiring interns for Siddiquee and Associates.

Conditions to apply for the post are as under :
1) The intern should be in the 5th Year of the five year course or in the 3rd Year of the three years course.
2) He/she should be able to physically attend my office situated in Andheri (w). “Online classes (if any) are allowed to be attended from my office”.
3) He/she should be able to commit minimum 6 months (as I do not believe in appointing any person for 1 or 2 months etc.). Do note that examination leaves are allowed and not counted.
4) He/she should have “very good command over English language and grammar”.
5) He/she should be very sincere at work and should take full responsibility for the work assigned to him/her.

On “completion of internship programme” the intern shall be paid a stipend amount of “Rs. 7,500 per month” for the first three months and then “Rs. 10,000/- per month” for the balance three months. The lumpsum amount of Rs. 52,500/- shall be paid after deduction of tax as per Income Tax Rules.

After six months if the intern wishes to continue in my firm, then he/she shall be paid “on monthly basis an amount of Rs. 15,000/- per month” till he/she receives his/her Sanad.

After receipt of Sanad, the Advocate shall be paid on monthly basis a fixed amount of Rs. 20,000/- per month.

After three month from the date of Sanad, the Advocate shall be paid additional amounts for every Court appearance made by him/her over and above the fixed amount of Rs. 20,000/- per month.

In short my juniors will start earning approximately “Rs. 30,000 per month” within six months from the date of their registration as an Advocate. I shall not give any recommendation letters or payments if the intern discontinues within six months, citing any reason.

Additionally if the intern does not meet the expectations as is required by the firm then his/her intership shall be discontinued immediately without any benefits.

The Objective of the Seminar

New risks and threats in cyberspace are real, making cyber security necessary. We, as individuals as well as societies, cannot go unprotected. Cyber security is not simply a clear-cut technical issue. It is a strategic, political, and social phenomenon with all the accompanying messy nuances. Therefore, cyber reality must be examined with scientific rigour by all disciplines, enabling an informed public debate.

It is both, morally essential and rationally effective for the responses to be formulated through a democratic process. The objective of the Seminar is to discuss and deliberate on this major issue and to understand aspects and dynamics of the same. A Book containing the selected Papers shall also be published.

The outcome of the Seminar would facilitate the organizers, participants and other stakeholders to make legislative and policy interventions to bring about positive social and legal transformation. This Seminar would also provide an excellent opportunity for the participants to put across their own views and exchange ideas in order to have a holistic understanding of the subject matter.

Call for Papers

Well-researched original Papers and case studies are invited from academics and scholars, researchers and students of multi-disciplinary.

Only one co-author is permitted. All papers shall be scrutinized through a blind review by the Editorial Board. All Papers shall be subjected to the anti-plagiarism software ‘TURNITIN’. Selected Papers will be published by the College.

All the stages of the Seminar will be conducted in online mode.

How to Submit?

  • Well-researched papers are invited from all sections of the society for presentation at the Seminar.
  • Papers shall be accepted only after review.

Submission Guidelines

Eligibility and Word Limit

Co-Authorship: The manuscript may be co-authored by a maximum of two authors.

The Journal accepts the following kinds of submissions:

  • Articles: 5,000 to 10,000 words.
  • Short notes: 2,500 to 5,000 words.
  • Case Comments: 1,500 to 2,500 words

These word counts are exclusive of footnotes. The Editorial Board reserves the right to increase or relax the word limit, depending on the quality of the submission.

Submission Guidelines

  • The mail bearing the manuscript must declare, in its body, the category for which the submission is made for, i.e. article/short notes/case comment.
  • The body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman, font size 12 with 1.5 line spacing. The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10 with single line spacing.
  • The manuscripts should be properly footnoted wherever sources are being used. The use of endnotes, hyperlinks, etc. is strictly prohibited. Further, no speaking footnotes (descriptive footnotes) are allowed.
  • All the sources in the footnotes must conform to the Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA) 4th ed. style of citation.
  • The manuscripts must be preceded by an abstract of not more than 250 words.
  • The manuscript must not contain any reference to the author’s name, affiliation or credentials.
  • All manuscripts must be accompanied by a cover letter with the name(s) of the author(s), institution/affiliation, the title of the manuscript, and contact details. The author must also confirm in the cover letter that the manuscript is not being considered for publication elsewhere.
  • The manuscript must be an original and unpublished work.
  • If necessary, ICLR may request the author to provide a printed copy of the manuscript, in addition to the electronic copy.

Formatting Guidelines

  The submission indicates the Author(s)’ acceptance of the following conditions:

  • The work, upon publication, becomes a property of National Law University, Jodhpur; and
  • Any subsequent publication/reprint and/or derivative works are permitted subject to prior approval of the ICLR.
  • The ICLR follows three stages of blind peer-review procedure and shall endeavor to keep the authors informed about the status of their manuscript as it goes through each stage of review.
  • ICLR retains complete discretion over acceptance/rejection of manuscripts. The Editorial Board of ICLR shall not entertain requests for advance decisions based on abstracts, topic proposals or outlines. Editorial decisions shall be based solely on review of the final manuscripts submitted by the authors.
  • Post-review, manuscripts may be returned to the authors with suggestions related to substance and/or style. Acceptance of a manuscript for publication shall be made contingent on incorporation of such suggestions.
  • ICLR reserves the right to request copies of any resources or authorities cited in the manuscript.
