Carnegie India is the sixth international centre of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, which opened in April 2016 in New Delhi. As with Carnegie’s centres in Beijing, Beirut, Brussels, Moscow, and Washington, Carnegie India is staffed and led by local experts who will collaborate extensively with colleagues around the world. The centre’s research and programmatic focus include the political economy of reform in India, foreign and security policy, and the role of innovation and technology in India’s internal transformation and international relations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Carnegie India is seeking a Research Assistant for the Security Studies Program. This is a full-time position that will preferably start in October 2022.

  • The research assistant will be responsible for researching specific issues relating to India’s foreign and security policy and assisting scholars with ongoing projects. They will also provide administrative and programmatic support to the Security Studies Program.
  • Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree, or preferably, a master’s degree in international relations or a related field with one year of relevant work or internship experience. Applicants should have strong research and organizational skills, the ability to work on flexible deadlines, and the capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously. They should also be able to work independently and as part of a team. The position requires excellent verbal and written command of English and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Located in New Delhi, with a presence in Bengaluru, we offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
