No late submission will be accepted.

Guidelines

  1. The essay should be written in English only.
  2. Only one essay per participant may be submitted. Multiple Submissions will lead to disqualification.
  3. Co-authorship to a maximum of 2 authors is permitted. In the case of co-authorship, the registration form should be filled for each other.
  4. The students can’t enter as sole author and co-author. It will lead to multiple submissions and therefore disqualification.
  5. Only original essays will be considered for the competition. Moreover, any form of plagiarism will result in disqualification. Any identification mark in the essay will also lead to disqualification.
  6. The Centre may choose one or more essays for publication in the 3rd Volume of the GNLU Journal of Law and Economics.

Guidelines for Submission: 

All the blogs should strictly adhere to the guidelines. Any submission found not following the 

same shall be outrightly rejected. The guidelines are as follows: 

• The title of the blog should be appropriate. 

• The blog must be within 1500 words. 

• Writing should be the original work of the participants. Only 15% of plagiarism would be allowed. Any submission having more than 15% plagiarism shall be disqualified. 

• The Uniform method of citation must be followed. 

• The body of the paper shall be in Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5-line spacing. 

Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, size 10 single line spacing. 

• A margin of 1 inch shall be left on all sides of the paper. 

• The paper shall be in MS Word Format. 

• Co-authorship is allowed for not more than 2 people. 

• No participant can make more than one submission. 

• The copyright of the blog shall lie with the organization.

ABOUT THE JOURNAL

Journal for Law Students and Researchers [JLSR]  is an Online Journal with ISSN[O]: 2582-306X and 8 indexings, which is quarterly, Peer-Reviewed, published online and JLSR seeks to provide an interactive platform for the publication of Short Articles, Long Articles, Book Reviews, Case Comments, Research Papers, Essays in the field of Law.

JLSR welcomes contributions from all legal branches, as long as the work is original, unpublished, unplagiarized and is in consonance with the submission guidelines.

NATURE OF CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Articles: An article must conduct a complete analysis of the area of law, which the author seeks to highlight. It must contain a comprehensive study of the existing law with the suggestions and conclusions of the Author. Word Limit being 1,100 to 4,000 words.
  • Notes: A note is a relatively concise form of an argument advanced by the author. The focus of a note should be on a relatively new debate or controversy regarding the interpretation or implementation in the law. Notes shall primarily highlight contemporary issues, which need to be addressed, and the authors are expected to offer a solution. The maximum word limit for a manuscript in the form of note is 1,500-2,500 words.
  • Comments: A comment is where the author may decide to critique any recent/landmark judicial pronouncement or any recent legislation or bill before the Parliament or State Legislature. The word limit for a comment is 2,000-3,000 words.
  • Book Review: A Book Review is where the author identifies the central idea of the book, gives the reader indication of the author’s style, approach, or premises, and then offers an overall evaluation adding suggestions and latest amendments to the given laws in the book. The word limit is from 2,000-3,000 words.

  1. Citation Format: The citation format to be followed is The Bluebook (19th Ed.)/Any Standard Format.
  2. Abstract: Every submission should be accompanied by an abstract of 250-300 words describing the relevant conclusions drawn in the manuscript.
  3. Biographical Information of Authors: Details with biographical information of the authors must be given in the footnote of Author’s Name including the following details: Post, Email address, Name of Institution, Course (if applicable), Academic Year.
  4. Papers with plagiarism less than 25% are only eligible for publication.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, the apex institution for the training of senior civil servants wishes to engage the services of bright young professionals as Teaching Associates (Research Interns) to assist the faculty of Law in teaching/training and Research activities. Post Graduates in the relevant discipline who have an interest in and aptitude for training/research are eligible.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The position is contractual with an initial contract period of six months which may be extended for another two terms of six months each based on performance appraisal. Teaching Associates (Research Intern) will be paid a consolidated sum of Rs. 40,000 and will be provided accommodation in hostels on payment of prescribed rent.

ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications and Terms of Appointment for the post of Teaching Associates (Research Intern)

  1. Post Graduation Degree in a discipline relevant to the subject i.e. in Law with at least 55% marks and having an aptitude for academics and research.
  2. Candidates should be proficient in the use of computers.
  3. Preference will be given to persons who are registered for a PhD or are pursuing M.Phil program in the relevant discipline and to those who may have worked in a similar capacity in the past.
  4. Teaching Associates (Research Interns) will be appointed on Contract for a term of Six Months, which may be extended by another two terms of Six months each based on performance appraisal. No Teaching Associate (Research Interns) will be engaged beyond three terms in any case.
  5. In casework of any Interns is not satisfactory, the contract can be terminated any time after giving a notice of 1 month or, at the discretion of the Academy, by giving one-month remuneration in lieu of the notice. An Intern may also terminate the contract after giving one month’s notice or payment of one-month remuneration in lieu thereof.
  6. Teaching Associates (Research Interns) will be paid a consolidated remuneration of Rs 40,000 p.m. If they are to travel on official duty, they will be reimbursed travel expenses at the rates applicable for Group ‘8’ employees.
  7. Candidates should be below 35 years of age.

SALARY

Teaching Associates (Research Intern) will be paid a consolidated sum of Rs. 40,000 p.m. and will be provided accommodation in hostels on payment of prescribed rent.
